This movie picks up right after the 6th. Suggestion to movie viewers watch 6 before you go. Also its a long movie but though it was a long movie, you dont realize it. The movie and action keeps you going the whole time! Then right as your on the edge of your seat its over....Now is time for part 2. IT WAS AMAZING! The type you can watch over and over.

This was a bit of redemption from HBP, which I think is the worst of the Harry Potter films. Deathly Hallows part 1 stuck closely to the book about 80-85% of the time, and the little bits added actually enhanced the story, instead of being distracting or completely unnecessary. There were many humorous parts, and it's obvious that Daniel, Rupert and Emma have all grown tremendously as actors since the first film (especially Daniel). July is too far away!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 is an amazing movie! I absolutely loved it. All of the Harry Potter movies are great, but this one made me happy since it didn't seem to leave anything out from the book. I didn't want it to end. Once I realized I was seeing the last scene, I said, "Is it time for Part 2 yet!?!" Is it Summer 2011 yet? :]

This was a very strong entry in the Harry Potter series. It's not as much of a children's story any more as the children have grown and are now dealing with life and death situations. Not as action packed as other entries, but still very intense and entertaining. Fairly true to the book (it's a shame they can't include everything) this movie leaves you longing for the finale!

This movie is one of the best, by far. Incredibly true to the book version, it fit almost everything in that it possibly could. There were some slower scenes, like the camping, but they were emotional and necessary. Voldemort's snake Nagini was definitely terrifying and realistic.
I thought Hermione's role was deep and her most admirable yet. Probably the funniest scene is the one in which everyone drinks the polyjuice potion to assume Harry's form and protect Harry from the Deatheaters. Overall, it was a captivating thriller from start to finish, with humorous, emotional and edge of your seat scenes that are well worth seeing. Great job, everyone!

Part one of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was definitely worth the wait. Intense, with enough moments of humor to allow the viewer to leave the theater not too down. The ending leaves you waiting for part two to be released in July.

Harry Potter is still amazing!! While I did think there were some slower moments to this movie, it still didn't disappoint. The action, plot, and effects were amazing as usual. I thought where they cut it off for Part I was appropriate, yet still leaves you guessing (for those who have not read the books). I am stoked for Part II but sad to see the series end.

This movie sticks very closely to the book. I like the scenes that were added. They tied everything together nicely. As a parent I will say that there are some really intense scenes that would frighten children 10 and under.

Definitely a different feel from the other HP movies. Production quality is high, as is expected. Some scenes dragged on too long. I think this HP film is one you will have to endure in order to understand the next film. I doubt it is going to be anyone's "favorite" HP movie. I have followed the Harry Potter movies since the first one and I honestly have to say this is the best one yet!! I was on the edge of my seat and the in depth history given on certain aspects left me wanting more. I was shocked at the ending, and bitting my nails from the beginning. I especially liked that they inclucded good things in the face of divesity, a wedding when all hell breaking loose, a good touch if I say so myself. I enjoyed every second

I thought it was great. Yes, some parts were a little slow, little melancholy, and the melancholy the director keyed into was a different sort than how JK presented it. It has many wonderful moments and Harry's affected clumsiness is charming.

Previous Harry Potter films followed the highlights of the storyline so the viewer who hadn't read the books got the gist of the story. Details that were important to the storyline but contained in ancilliary dialog in the books were incorporated into the movie a little differently. For example, in HP4, the movie doesn't mention the cash prize to the winner of the tri-wizard tournament. In HP5, we see that Fred & George have opened their own magic shop funding not mentioned, yet the book tells us Harry provided the $$$ with his winnings from the TWT. Also, the romance between Bill & Fleur is minimal, we see them at the departure from 4 Privet Drive, then at their wedding, again we get the highlights to advance the plotline for the movie and not the details in the book. There was more detail in the book about the problems at the Ministry of Magic that lead to its eventual takeover by Voldemort's followers. The movie indicates that happening, but the focus is on other events, as it should be.
HP 7.1 was well done. It does get a little dry as we follow Harry, Ron & Hermione's trek through the wilderness while they try to find the other Horcruxes. The movie does end on a good 'to be continued moment'. It does a good job laying the groundwork for the climax of HP 7.2; for which we anxiously await.

As a huge Harry Potter fan, I think they did a beautiful job adapting the story line for the film. I plan on seeing it in the theater at least once more. I am worried if people who haven't read the books really understand what's going on but I suppose they get the main point.

This is definitely the best Harry Potter movie yet. Before, the Harry Potter movies generally seem to be fairly boring, and I was mostly watching them because I had read the books and wanted to see how it played out on screen. With Deathly Hallows, it is an interesting movie on its own, a very interesting movie. I adored it, actually. It had everything. Romance, horrror, adventure, and drama. It was really definitely worth a watch, more than one watch even.

To start, this was an amazing movie on so many levels. I never read any of the book (on purpose) so eve movie is even more anticipated and is an even bigger shock. This movie captured everything I had secretly longed for in a potter movie (even though I didn't know I longed for it). The beginning is so dramatic and tense it whipped the smile off my face that I got from the opening theme song. One of the best things about this movie is the return of so many characters which I thought had just dropped off the face of the planet after their respective role in a movie had ended. In part one.you have the return of some of harry's best allies like mad eye moody, lupin (my favorite) and even Dobbie :). But the return of the characters is over shadowed by the best aspects of the movie: the visuals, the acting and the story. It seemed that every scene in the whole movie had some special effects. The coolest effect of the whole movie is when the characters
"dissaperate" which is essentially teleporting by spinning into a worm whole or something. One problem, and the only reason for the movie not to get 5 of 5 stars, I had with this and all of the movies (which may be explained by the books) is that they bring new things in as if they existed forever and everyone knew about them. If Harry could dissaperate from the beginning he wouldn't have needed to fight off the dementors, been stuck in the tree in chamber and could have run from "you know who" in goblet. But the acting is beyond superior especially if you think about the acting in the first movie. Every actor/actress has grown in their role so perfectly that Harry doesn't look awkward when he thinks he could end up with Jenny or Hermione. Radcliffe just seems like he finally personifies Harry. Same goes for the other characters froth lead and supporting. The most important and well done thing about this movie is the storyline (as it should be
considering it was a book first). We finally get the grasp of what the story was laid out for. The puzzle is coming together and the best thing about it is it will be presented in full because we fatally have a long enough amount of time to fit everything that was said in the book. If this film were shorted to an hour and a half and both parts put into one it would've been a disaster but finally having the length of time they needed to tell the story gave everything a completely different feel. I know to some the 2.5 hour length may be a deterrent but I assure you that this movie doesn't watch like it's 2.5 hours. Unlike during 'LOTR: return of the king' I didn't once look to the clock to see how much more there was. It's an enthralling and engrossing movie that I will be watching again in the theaters and I'm sure multiple times in my living room. A must see for everyone!

I was so excited as I entered the theater. I have read the books and seen all the movies. This one was a dissapointment. I'm sure everyone staying up late to watch the midnight feature to be the first audiances are big fans. The man in front of me actually fell asleep and was snoring as I too had to fight to stay awake. It was just too slow to last so long. I really felt let down and can't believe they are dragging it out in two films. I also purchase the DVD's as soon as they come out but with this film I will wait until it goes on clearance sale.
