This movie is really good. Aside from the fact thats its Harry Potter, its shot very well. This movie was most like the book. Very detailed...cant wait for part 2!

This movie was quite entertaining, and even though the plot moved slowly in the movie, the storyline has a lot of detail and it would be difficult to decide which details should be left out. I not only would watch it again, I intend to watch it again! I will also most likely purchase the movie to watch again, just as I have re-read the books.

It was an utter disappointment. The movie failed to live up to the hype it had created before coming. The movie makers have taken out all the thrill and action which is there in Rowling's novel and have endlessly dragged on the sentimental and romantic stuff. With the story material in hand they could have done a much better job. Whatever may be the case all Potter fans are still going to watch it.

Harry, Hermoine, and Ron all have grown tremendously in their acting abilities. They were great. The movie was closest to the book of all the series...music, direction, and all supurb. The animated 'Deathly Hallows' insert was beautifully done. Great Movie!

I was extremely disappointed that they had to throw in a lemon (nudity) moment in this film! It does not contribute at all and takes away from the story. I am warning my friends who have not seen the film already. The story was wonderful, but WB you botched it with that part! Fail all around.

I'm sure I'm not the first to say this is the best HP movie yet. Great job of capturing the dark and desperate feeling of the book. Incredible performances from the main trio. And for a 2 and a half hour film, it flew by in no time. Next July, and Part 2, can't come soon enough. And a suggestion: Grab some extra napkins from the concession stand in order to have something to wipe your tears away in the last scene of this one.

This was an amazing movie!!! It was one of the best Harry Potter flims I've seen yet! Although this flim has a darker feel, there is still a good amount of funny stuff and lots of good friendshp moments. There is a little blood and injuries but nothing to horrible. There is lots of action too, espeacially at the beginning. Being an avid HP fan there were a couple tiny things that made me go, "what?" They should have done it like this! But nothing to big was an issue, just small facts. Over all it was a fabulous production and throughout the 2 and 1/2 hours, I never felt myself getting bored!

I really loved the Deathly Hallows Part I. I liked that it was darker than the previous films and catered to an older audience. I feel as though I grew up right along with Harry and his adolescent experiences mirror mine... minus the dementors. Harry Potter will always be a part of my life.

The best things about the movie were the art direction and photography. Like the "Ring's"NewZealand views the Scottish vistas of lochs and so on are breathtaking. The interior views have good continuity wth previous outings in the series. The Blair witch type rapid motion scenes were distracting and lent nothing to the sense of suspense or character development. The cast was good as usual except for the incessantly over the top Helena Bonham Carter: she is but a caricature of a villain. Overall I felt the narrative was choppy, with more attention given to cameos by the series stars than advancing the action. Some of the best bits in the film were the humorous moments. A caution for parents of young children: don't bring them. Some of the snake scenes will give them nightmares for a long time. I would recommend this for Harry Potter series fans but it is not a stand alone film that would be understood well by those with no Potter experience.

This was definitely the best of the series films so far. It stayed true to the book which some were disappointed with in the last film. I really enjoyed how dramatic this film was, it shows how hard the search for the horcruxes was for these 3 and that this isn't as much of a kids movie as some would think. There's still a good amount of laughs reminiscient of the last film along with some tears. Anxiously waiting the final film!

Well... I guess we needed this movie in order to get to the last movie. The pacing was certainly calm, even though the same scenes in the book were exciting.

The movie was certainly not light-hearted but when the movie ended, the audience made an audible awww/groan. I would have loved to see the rest of the movie despite the fact that I would have to sit for at least 5 hours. The reason I gave four stars instead of five was because the movie really did give a lot to the tent time. I know it was necessary to tell the story - just like in the book - but that part just seemed to go on for a long time.

This movie was intense, emotional, and passionate. I really felt drawn into the story and when the movie ended, I still felt tied to the characters and wanted to see more. I am sad that I will have to wait until next year to see the final installment, and even sadder that it will all be ending soon. The excitement that comes from seeing a truly great story brought to life in such an epic way is phenomenal. I can't wait to see what else comes from Rowling.

This movie does not dissappoint for anyone. It kept a decent amount of the details from the book and had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Its ends perfectly so that you don't feel ripped off but cant wait to see the second part. Overall it was an excellent movie!

I was sadly disappointed with this movie; the plot progressed slowly and there were a lot of drawn out scenes. Deathly Hollows should NOT have been divided into two separate movies, it is just a scam to make some extra money. I felt like the Director chose quantity over quality with this Harry Potter film. It reminded me of the Lord of the Rings,there were a lot of scenes where they are just traveling with beautiful nature scenes in the background. If they had made Deathly Hollows into one movie I am positive that it would have been an amazing movie; but unfortunately that isn't the case. I would recommend to rent this movie; do NOT spend your $8 to see this movie in theaters. It does have some light jokes and many battle scenes but the actual plot progresses at a snail's pace.
