This movie was absolutely fantastic! I have really enjoyed watching the charaters grow into their own over the years and this movie showcases them in their truest light yet.
Knowing this it is the beginning of the end is a little bittersweet, but what a fabulous way to go out!
Impatiently anticipating the 2nd half!!!

You can't miss this film if you are an avid fan of the books and previous theatrical offerings. It is by far the darkest, the least entertaining, and the most tedious...but that captures the flavor of the last series installment and is necessary for the setup of the final "half chapter". It lost it's whimsy IMHO due to the aging of the protagonists and the death of Dumbledore. The edits were choppy, some of the dialogue and the delivery stilted. Anxiously await the last episode however!

This installment is too different from the other movies. Nothing whimsical or light hearted, just dark gloom and doom throughout.
I know the characters are growing up but did we need to have nudity in a Harry Potter movie? The scene could have been done the same with their cloths on.....c'mon.

Perhaps the best Harry Potter film yet. Good acting, exciting plot, and great cinematography.
Better than the novel in at least one respect -- emotions are shown rather than told about, which is very important in these last two films.

brilliant, anyway you look at it. the film belongs to harry, hermione, and ron, who carry the entire movie practically by themselves. these three have grown as actors immeasurably since the first film, and they give their characters power, as well as angst, sorrow, fear, the whole gamut. on top of that, the perfect director, david yates, who has taken a tight, succint screenplay from an exceedingly complex, psychological, and dark book, and with the help of magnificent cinematography, has created a gripping rendering of all going on in the minds and souls of these characters and the times of their world. i had taken my (extremely intelligent and insightful) 18-year-old son, almost as big an hp fan as me, to see it. at first, he said, it was "alright, good, but..." after a bit of probing, he admitted that it was too close to home about the fears that most adolescents share about different facets of life at this age and that it had unnerved him because it was so close to the bone. it is absolutely rotten that the world has to wait 8 more months for the conclusion of this superb series! as a bynote, i would not recommend this movie to anyone under the age 12.

I thought this movie had all the elements of the book and stayed true to the concept of the book. Yes it was a little slow, but anyone who has read the book knows that is exactly how it was. It ended in the right place and the next part will be more exciting and even darker than the first part!

I love the books and have follwed each new movie. Deathly Hallows was excellent! The screen writers did well with pulling out the best points in a very complex novel. I can hardly wait for July and Part 2!!!

The anticipation of this movie was great, but in a way I was very disappointed. They glossed over some of the most important features of the book. The most glaring is when the Dursleys leave.
But it is a great set up for part 2. I would recommend this movie to anyone. It did a great job of the time they were on the run. Go Enjoy and see it many more times.

This was an excellent movie. I even jumped out of my seat a couple of times. Considering this movie was 2 hours and 30 minutes, it went by fast, I was so engrossed into the movie that I had no concept of time. My Mom , my Husband and myself (I'm 42) went to see this movie. This was the first Harry Potter Movie that my Mom saw on the big screen and we will definetly watch this on the big screen again.

I knew that the first part of the movie had to be a little slow as the plotline of the book starts out without the typical constant, riveting action of the other Harry Potter books. However upon seeing the movie, I felt like the hours flew by and I was engaged the entire time. I loved every minute and it was much more exciting than I expected it to be. If you're not a Harry Potter fan though, it may be a little sluggish. Not for me!

I just became a fan of the Harry Potter films and I enjoyed watching number 1-5 and 6 on cable/via movie rentals. But I thought number 7
went on and on ...way too long with the story telling.....Anyone that has watched the series knows what's going on and the film didn't need to be so long toothed.... I love the story but this one missed out on a good balance of action and the unfolding of the story. I walked out saying to myself that if number 8 is not done well it will be big let down for all the fans! Sorry HP7!

This was the best Harry Potter movie thus far! It was the most accurate representation of the book--I found myself experiencing the same emotions that I did throughout the book. Lots of adventure--just the right amound of sadness and grief over the loss of some of the main characters. Very well done. The open setting made all the characters, including the magical ones, seem more real. This movie makes you feel like Harry Potter's world and life really could happen!
