It was good, but dragged badly in at least three places. This book installment just does not translate to the big screen very well. There is so much history that is explained and too many gaps that are pieced together in the book via detailed conversation and narrative. That said, the book is absolutely fascinating. It is my second favorite book, just behind the Order of the Phoenix (easily the "bomb" in the movie series). Like the 'Hallows, The Order of the Phoenix should have been split into two segments.
Beware of showing this to young children. There are scenes which are disturbingly horrific and also two sexually suggestive scenes. Hallows is just shy of an R rating. Going in, I thought it was an R, because that's what was on the marquis over the door to the theater. IMDB lists it as PG-13.

I love the Harry Potter films, however my husband fell asleep during the movie! I felt that there wasn't a whole lot of story covered in the film, and there were long, dragged out pauses in the scenes! I definitely was not at the edge of my seat like most of the other films! Overall... boring... I am looking forward to Part 2 for sure! It better be a crowd pleaser for this Part 1 to be so lame!!!

I was quite impressed with this movie, especially after hearing some mediocre reviews. I found that this was truer to the book than some of the other movies in this series, mostly because they left out less content. My husband, who has not read the books, found this movie easier to follow than the last few. We both really enjoyed this movie and can't wait to see the final one!

I have read every book and watched every movie with enjoyment until this one. It was very slow moving and dragged on in most parts. If it had focused on the highlights of the book, they could have condensed it to one movie. Wasn't a fan of this one...but will still go see Part 2.

Well Done !!! Missing some things that I liked in the book, but they did a good job with the continuity. They got the "feeling" of the story, especially the "fugitive" part, Spot On !!! Altogether, a GREAT movie !!! Waiting for Part 2 will be tough !

It was slow, and basically nothing happened.
There's no point in seeing it now, wait till it's on DVD and watch the next one in theaters on the same night. Because otherwise, you'll want to shoot yourself, as i wanted to.

As one of the few people who loves the series but has never read the books, I found this to be one of the better movies in the series. Some of the movies have been very hard to follow from movie to movie and have introduced new characters out of nowhere and so they have not made any sense, but this followed along well from the last movie and made sense.
As far as the acting, scenery, cinematography, etc., goes, it was outstandingly beautiful and very well done. I just saw that movie last night and wouldn't mind going back to see it again today! The last scene is the perfect cliffhanger for the Part II film.

The last movie was so far off the mark, im still mad. This one held true to the story as much as humanly possible. The flow of the movie on the other hand, was rather choppy. Considering, time is always a hassel. Good HP movie overall. The next better run twice as long.

This was one of the best Harry Potter films. It was true to the book without getting bogged down with every tiny detail. It was exciting and touching, and continuously built to a climax, leaving us hungry for the next-and last-part.

I've read all the Harry Potter books several times. I was somwhat disappointed that there wasn't even a partial denoument at the end of this film. The good guys won. If J K Rowling didn't need to break it in two why did the movie people??? Oh, I remember $$$$. Daniel was excellent and the production was great but it seemed in some spots that critical things were glossed over and non-essentials were expanded. I liked the film but not like I loved the book.

The Movie was pretty awesome. They cut out a lot of the critical parts again in this movie from the book so I was a little bit let down on that front. But overall they kept doing better and better with it.

'Hallows' stayed true to the book as the series has all along. It is a darker movie as it should be and is cast and directed wonderfully. It being part 1 of 2, it is cut off at an appropriate time to leave you wanting more and excited to see part 2!!! The character development is deeper with the teens as they are getting older now also.

Great movie, complete with some fantastic special effects sequences. However, this movie was definitely part of a series as opposed to self-contained in anyway and felt a bit like an interlude on the way to the finale. As a side note, parents would be well-advised to heed the PG-13 rating--this material is too mature for younger kids as it deals with adult themes of death, jealousy, and sexual tension.

For all the hype that Harry Potter received it did not live up to my expectations. However, it was somewhat intrigueing. Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint came through once again as the beloved characters. The movie could have been shortened by a half hour, some of the scenes were drawn out. This particular movie was not as exciting as previous Harry Potter movies. The only time I was on the edge of my seat was at the very end. I do look forward to Part II.

I am a Harry Potter fan. Did the book openings, movies, etc. This movie was the bomb! Loved it from beginning to end, and was hoping they would surprise us by continuing the movie! Can't wait to see Part II! Also, when these movies do come out on Blu-Ray/DVD, I hope they come out with extended versions, like they did with Lord of the Rings. :D

Even though I know the story, I was on the edge of my seat much of the time. The production on this film seemed much better than the previous films (though I have enjoyed them all.) The actors have really developed their talents as they have grown. I am anxious for the final installment - but a little sad to see them end.
