Don't listen to anyone who says it wasn't good. It was excellent. Closest adaptation to the big screen yet, it was a top notch movie. Even MORE excited to re read the series before the finale next summer!!

I was disappointed with a lot of things in HP 6 mostly being somehow the viewers lost touch with the significance and emotion of Dumbledore's death. At any rate, this movie proved to be much better. There were some upclose scenes of death and rather intense parts. PG-13 rating was deserved. I csnnot wait until part 2!

Great movie! Directed and produced beautifully. The acting is superb especially in comparison the the last film. Very emotional and very dark. I loved how well the darkness was captured in this film. The ONLY thing I could say badly about it was that the movie felt like it went to fast. This is understandable due to all of the things they had to fit in to 2 1/2 hours. But always felt rushed. But other than that, definitely did the book justice!

This movie was excellent. The acting was awesome, and I am no graphic expert but I thought the effects and graphics were amazing too! (Some parts would have been even more intense if seen in 3-d!!)
I loved the acting, and the way the movie followed the book. Only reason this movie was not 5 stars was because I do not think it can stand alone. If it did not have a part 2 coming with it there is no real plot established in this movie it is just kind of building and introducing story lines. BUT like I said before, knowing there is a second half this movie was amazing and another wonderful addition to the harry potter legacy

The movie can be compared to "talking a lot but not saying anything". Very entertaining, but the plot gets lost along the way

I've learned not to re-read the books prior to attending the movies. This part 1 of the last installment is no exception. However, I did find th affects and acting much improved from previous films. Also, the addition of humor to the characters outside of the twins was appreciated.

Being that I'm about twice the age of the average HP fan (30) I was so tired going to this movie. From the very beginning, it captivated me and I forgot about the fact that I'd only get 3 hours of sleep. The acting was amazing, the action was great. It drew you in just as well, if not better than previous movies. The tones were dark and foreboding.. it really captured the feelings of the characters. They did a good job explaining what was going on so you didn't get lost (I read the book, but right when it first came out, so I forgot parts..)
I would highly recommend. Obviously a must see for any HP fan.

This is by far the best movie yet. They really put a lot into telling the story and including almost all of the things from the book. They made slight changes to some things, and left out others, but always left hints at what was left out that fans of the books will get.
The acting was also very good for the most part, although some of the dialogue at the end seemed forced, probably due to time constraints on the movie.
There were a couple more artful sequences done in the movie (one main one), that I especially enjoyed. They really show the thought that went into the movie..
I went to see the midnight show, and had to get up and work the next day, and it was definitely worth losing the sleep, though I will have to go see it again to get a seat that isn't in the front row.
And of course, house elves are always fun.

I was lucky enough to be at the midnight showing, my first ever, and it was an amazing experience. The trio was at their all time best, the action was terrific. The movie will make you laugh and make you cry...it's got it all covered!! I have tickets for Saturday and am going to see it again today. I can't get enough! Harry Potter covers all generations and I'm proud to say I'm a Potterhead to the max!

This movie was a fantastic movie! I loved every bit of it! It was so well made and had phenomenal actors and actresses! That director sure knows how to keep an audience on the edge of their seat. This movie will make you do everything from scream, to laugh, to cry like you have never cried before. Wonderful Movie. They kept the story very close to the book, and only left out a few scenes! I recommend this movie to anyone who likes a good movie.

The acting, the graphics, the excitement and flow of this movie--dark and depressing as it was--were the best yet. Closest in many ways to the book, it delivered in ways that made the book still fresh. The comedic ability of Grint continues to shine.
The animation of the grim Deathly Hallows was brilliantly enchanting and a surprise.
Like others I mourn the end of the series, to have the last 2 go out with such superior quality is satisfying. Cannot wait for the final.

I have to say, this movie was entertaining, the acting was great and the visuals of all the different places they went was great. Overall though, I found it lacking something. The relationships of the characters were great. The tortured soul of Malfoy was played very well and I LOVED Bellatrix! Ultimately though, the most moving part of the show was the tragedy with Dobby. I think had it ended differently, I might feel more apt to throw in an extra star and make it a 5 star. But because of where it was left, I am more frustrated and not excited to see the final than I have been in the past when I left feeling "OMG! Can't wait for the next one!". So, see it; but just be ready for a little bit of a disappointment at the end.

I have to say I was really supprise by how how dark the movie actually was. Its not a movie for little kids. I was a fun and exciting movie to watch but runs alittle long and drags a bit . If you can sit threw a 2 and a half hour movie and saw the other movies i think you should go see it

I was so pleased with how true to the book this film was. Ofcourse there are always subtle changes, this one was the truest (if thats a word) to the books since The Sourcerers Stone. I was upset at first when I heard that they were splitting The Deathly Hallows into 2 parts but after seeing the first one, I am glad they did. And aside from that it had a beautifully dark and sinister feel to it, as well as an emotionally charged undertone. I just plan loved it.

I saw the midnight showing and it was worth every second. They truly do not disappoint in this film. Though I loved the previous movie I know many complained it didnt have enough action. The Deathly Hallows Pt1 has PLENTY of action. It also has some incredible acting that really shoves you into the emotion of this world. I also LOVED all the cameo roles by many of the worlds best known actors. All I can say is GO SEE IT and see it in the theater. Not many movies are worth $10 plus snacks, but this one is for certain. Best movie I've seen this year!!!!

Without giving too much away, I will say that there were a lot of giggles & guffaws in this Part 1 of the end of the Harry Potter Saga. There was SO much in the book, and the movie ended at a "good" place for the final part. This movie did bring out the acting ability of the 3 main characters, even if it lacked some of the action we are used to in a Harry Potter movie, but, we will get plenty of action in Part 2, so I was happy to see this one take it easy & develop the characters even more.

WATCH THE MOVIE BEFORE THIS FIRST. I watched them all, beside the Phoenix ahead of time and was so confused. It took me a good thirty minutes in to put everything together. Beside that, I thought it rocked. A little slow, but I was on the edge of my seat the whole time.

The movie was great...they left out what I thought was a very important part at the beginning of the movie, and that was Harry & the Dursley's saying goodbye. The Dursley's were an important part of the series and it would've been nice to see the side of them that was written in the book. Everything else was great - very true to the book. I was worried it would be a little boring because of the camping, but they did a great job with it. Dobby made me cry, which it did in the book as well. The critics will probably say that the movie isn't as good as the rest of the movies but I would bet that most of them have never bothered to read the books. Must see!!

This movie was amazing. I think that it is the most well-rounded Harry Potter movie to date. The movie did lack in action because of the focus on character development, but the acting definitely makes up for it. This is by far the best that cast has done. I'm sure the second part of the movie will be much more intense than this one. I would recommend this movie to anyone. It is intended for more mature audiences, but it is nothing that a teen couldn't handle. WATCH THIS MOVIE!!!

This is the best of the series so far. The acting improved and the dark aspect of the story is finally revealed. With the perfect combination of humor, sadness, and suspense captivated me and my fellow fans. I highly recomend this movie to anyone that is ready for an adventure.

I took my 11 year old twins, who have read the book, to the premiere showing of HP7. We LOVED it! Great acting, great effects, and lots of suspense. Even though my children knew what was coming, some of the scenes were intense enough that one of them could barely watch one scene. I love all the HP movies but I think this is my favorite. The trio are becoming adults and it shows well the changes that they're going through as they move from children into adulthood. I can't wait for Part 2!!

Special effects remain the highlight of the movie. It's so unfortunate that the screenwriters choose to depart so far from the storylines. Aside from that, it was simply too slow to be highly entertaining. Perhaps the second part will be better.
