HPatDH1 was great! We watched the six previous movies before coming to see this one, and the stars have shown great character progression and development, and their acting is stellar. The special effects are seamless and add to the film. I will definintely be seeing this one again!

the movie was AMAZING! it played with your emotions the entire time. I laughed, cried, and sat at the edge of my seat the whole movie. It's probably the best of the Harry Potter movies so far and pretty true to the book! DEFINITELY A MUST SEE!!!!

Firstly, I don't think I'd ever call it a perfect film. It did have some key flaws that did ultimately affect the character development and I'm not sure how I feel about the parts that were excluded (I won't go into detail for those who haven't seen it).
I enjoyed the movie quite a bit. It followed the book well and I like the changes like Hedwig's protection of Harry and Dobby's extra appearance. I think the acting was pretty good and the special effects were amazing (as usual).
I believe there will be points where moviegoers may be a little put off with the choices, but overall I was pleased and would definitely say see it for yourself!

This film was the best of the Harry Potter movies yet. It remains quite faithful to the book and I don't have any complaints about specific details that were changed like I did for previous movies. Like the book though, this film is very thematically dark and has a few scenes that are hard to watch because of the violence seen or implied. The deaths of more than one beloved character led to some tears in among the audience. This is not a film for kids. That being said, it does have some particularly funny moments and the actors playing the Weasley family are especially well-cast (as they have been previously). Rupert Grint and Emma Watson (Ron and Hermione) have really grown as actors and deliver expressive and emotional performances. Daniel Radcliffe is less expressive than the other two, but still delivers a heart-felt performance as Harry Potter. I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone pre-teen and up!

Dark and scary, yet the humor let's you rest when you need it. I bought my daughters ages 8 and 10 and they loved it just as much as I did. So well shot and edited, 3D would have been overkill. I am glad it was in 2D. The story, acting and the beautifully shot movie did not need anything else.

This is a dark, depressing and completely entertaining movie and a must see for anyone who is a fan or follower of the Harry Potter series, but it is not a movie for little kids. If you want to introduce your eight year old to the Harry Potter story rent the first movie and start there. Excellent performances by all the actors with top notch special effects as usual that adds to the story. We see Volemort as the evil, twisted and dangerous monster he is. An excellent set up to the final chapter of the story.

This was definitely the best Harry Potter movie to date. It followed the book almost perfectly, and the script pulled direct quotes from the book. Too bad the other movies in this series couldn't follow the books very well at all.

We loved the movie. This is one of the best Harry Potter films released. Much better job of explaining and filling in the blanks if you have not read the series. Easy to follow the characters and character building on relationships is very well done. I am glad this was not done in 3-D it would have taken away from the plot line and setting.

Went to Midnight showing with a few thousand of my friends. Every theater at AMC 30 was sold out. Movie is in 3rds - Beginning Awesome- Middle Boring-Ending 3rd awesome. Every Harry fan should go see it.
Even none Harry fans will like it. Loads of things from other Harry Movies and a billboard of Daniels play is even in London scene.
Can't wait to the finale in Summer. I was the oldest person in the audience. Should break all weekend earning records $170 Million plus is my guess

This movie was absolutely amazing- caught the midnight premiere and it was completely worth it. It stayed surprisingly true to the book given the book's detail and depth. Great comedic timing broke up some of the somberly serious parts, but not so much that it disrupted the continuity of the movie. Overall fantastic movie- can't believe we have to wait till next summer for the next one!

Ok, I didn't dress up for the midnight showing of the film, but it was a lot of fun.
This latest episode is, by far, the closest adaptation of any of the books. Daniel Radcliffe is showing some signs that he can act (at last), but the interactions between Rupert Grint and Emma Watson are terrific and touching.
There is more humor in the film than the book provides, the opening scene of creating multiple Harry lookalikes is particularly memorable.
Go enjoy the film, this 42 year old will go and see it again! :o)
