HP 7 Part 1 was indeed the best Harry Potter film by a long shot. All of the acting was much improved from the previous films, and the character development was excellent. Not too confusing for someone who hasn't read the boos, either, as I believe the first 6 were. From the special effects to the plot line to the acting, excellent job overall! You won't want to miss one of the last installments of Harry's world come to life!!

This movie was fantastically done. The characterizations were spot on, the action sequences were breathtaking, and the humorous scenes had me giggling crazily in my seat. It followed the book very well, and I was pleasantly surprised by that. Cannot wait for the next part!

I read all the books, so I thought this movie was FABULOUS. If you didn't read the books (which you should!) then you might be a littttle bored. It's a great movie that sets the plot for the second part which is going to be even better. Of course, they leave parts out that I would have liked to see, however they chose the parts of the book that could have been taken out without changing the story. Overall, a must see and I will be seeing it again!

This movie had an excellent blend of drama, action, comedy - while telling the story in a very entertaining and fluid way. In spots where it slowed down and drew in some character development or drama, it still flowed nicely and set up the next scenes really well with good transitions. i am not a really huge fan of the series, but I particularly enjoyed this film more than the past two in the series. The details of characters and the interactions of those characters on this film truly made it very enjoyable.

Although this movie isn't for first time HP movie goers, it does a great job if one already knows the story line. Deathly Hallows Pt.1 left me longing for more. I would definitely recommend this movie to everyone that is a HP fan. Its suspense and action helped make it so fantastic.

This is by far the best film in the HP series. Very true to the books and very action packed. You will NOT be disappointed. The humor in the movie was great, the story line was exhilarating, and the special effects were outstanding. I can't say enough about how great this movie is!!! I can't wait to see the final movie!

The merging of CGI and characters was done in a seamless manner. The acting was on a level that does not reflect their ages.
This movie was enjoyable for viewers of all ages. I intend to watch several times on the big screen. It is a wonderful story that unfortanately is coming to an end (at least this tail.)
I find it deeply rewarding to fear for all the CGI characters as much as I do for the real characters.
A well told story.

This was by far the most intense and the best of all the Harry Potter films. Having watch the characters grow throughout the series from children to young adults made this movie far more worthwhile to watch. I was a little surprise with the brief sexuality presented in the film and may be a little too much for the younger kids. Other than that, I was not disappointed. I can't wait for the last movie to come out next year. After all, the ending to this film sets up what will be a dramatic climax for all Harry Potter fans. As Siskel and Ebert would say, "Two Thumbs Way Up"!

Totally awesome! I've read all the books and have the first 6 films on Blu Ray. Still I was surprised and/or blown away at all the right moments. Some critics have mentioned some draggy parts...did they even watch the movie? The scenes that were longer and drawn out in the book were condensed perfectly in the film. Never a dull moment! I had tears running down my face over Dobby. Now I really want Belatrix dead!!

It's been a while since I read the book, so I'm not a good judge of whether the movie went by the book well or not. There are so many dramatic moments, this is a very tense Harry Potter movie. I cried at several points in the movie, and I usually don't cry at movies.
I took my oldest child (16yo), but I was glad I didn't take any of my younger children, I think some of the scenes would have just been overwhelming to them on a big screen in a dark and loud theater. I'm not sure if I'll let all of them watch it when it's released on DVD or not, and I let my kids watch a LOT of movies that others wouldn't allow.

When I watched the previous 6 movies, I was always excited but a little disappointed at the end. However this movie is spectacular: the humors are hilarious, the surprises are fantastic, and the character development is perfect. One suggestion: read the book before watching the movie.

The movie was incredible. So much of it was directly out of the books (something they've been lacking since movie three). The acting was so much inproved as well. I have never liked Emma Watson as an actress, I just personally think she's terrible. But this movie she was spot on. There were so many direct quotes from the book and events were close enough to the book that I was put in the same mood watching it as I was reading it. I personally think it is the best one out and is as close to the book as we could ever hope for.

Staying true to the books, and not glancing over the details ... loved it! Intense and building, making me already begin the countdown to part 2. Saw it at midnight, seeing it again today with my kids! (Mom note: A little more intense than previous ones, might be too intense for those under 10.)

It was a grown up Harry Potter with a dark side. It was action packed and left you with a cliff hanger ending. I would not recommend it for young kids as it has very intense screens. The movie had great special effects.

It was another success for the Harry Potter franchise. By far my favorite of the series so far. I was pleasantly surprised by their choices in which sections of the book to keep in or leave out. All important elements were there, but the story line was able to keep moving fluidly and rapidly in order to cover a large chunk of the book.
If you enjoyed The Halfblood Prince's addition of plenty of humor to balance out the intensity, then you will not be disappointed. The jokes were witty, the action was top notch, and the actors were at their very best by far. Enjoy!

This first part of the movie is very emotionally gripping. Although there isn't a whole lot of action that happens, a lot of information is presented to the viewer if they haven't read the books.
Brace yourself for the second part to be extremely intense and action packed.
You'll be wanting more at the end of the movie, wishing that it was just a 5-6 hour movie, but it'll be worth the wait.
So go out and see what we all started together!

HP 7 Part 1, takes all the important elements of Harry Potter and brings it to the big screen. I laughed, cried, and was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Although, I am an avid readers of the book and knew what was going to happen next- it did not stop me from feeling every emotion that was played on screen. The actors have stepped up their game.
