I agree with the others. This was a better movie than #6, it stayed truer to the book and didn't leave too much out. The flow was good, but it was slow in parts, but character development was definitely there. Its a must see...

Actually one of the Best (if not close to THE BEST) Harry Potter Movie yet. I'm a big fan and have very much enjoyed them all, but I have to give proprs to this one as being 2nd!!
One or two very very small slow spots, but pretty much point on with the book and content. Loved it will see it again and purchase it!!

This is honestly the best movie in the whole series so far. It sticks really close to the book, with the exception of a few scenes. I loved it!
...And I'll probably be seeing it at least three times more.

I prefer the books to the movies, but this movie was the most like the book which I loved! It was almost perfectly accurate and my husband was able to understand everything even though he didn't read the books!

I do not know how people think this is a five star movie, maybe thats what they expected and did not want to let their inner self to be dissapointed. However to a non harry potter mega fan like me, that the movie was too long and extended for no reason. The plot of the movie should have taken less than an hour and a half, 2 hours at max. I left the theater annoyed by such long movie and such a short plot. All in all I think its a good movie to watch if you have time, but it is definately not what I expected.

I thought that it was the best one made out of the 7 movies! it was hilarious and the movie covered almost all the important scenes or events! it was really hilarious too and all at the right moments while it maintains the focus of the story. Even though it was a 2 hour and 30 minute movie, it felt like it was just 40 minutes! well people say that when you are having a great time, time flies! i cannot wait for the 2nd part and i hope that it will be as awesome as this one. Ps: Emma Watson is simply gorgeous!

I really loved this movie. It followed the book well and still gave enough information that the non book reading Harry Potter viewers could still follow along and enjoy the wonderful movie. I can not wait until the second half is out and will definitely see it again very soon.

I thought that this movie was totally awesome!!!
As I was watching I made sure I really paid attention and was immediately woven into the story. I had re-read the book as it had been a while and in my opinion the actors, directors and all did a great justice to the book!!! I have always enjoyed watching this series and it has been wonderful to watch Dan, Emma, & Rupert grow up before our eyes!

All of those who fear that the movie will murder the book should not fear, this film is probably more true to its source than any other film has ever been. Our trio of actor capture the emotions perfectly as we watch the true trials their friendship faces under these dark and hard times. Everyone should see this; I can't wait for part 2.

i was anxiously awaiting this latest installment, worried about the length and how it would be cut up like previous movies. i needn't have worried on this one. pretty faithful to the book. easy to follow for those that haven't read or finished the book. excellent acting, as well as remarkable special effects, make it a must see. will DEFINiTELY be seeing it again!! well worth the wait and lack of sleep!!!

This movie set up the next movie perfectly. Its stayed extremely close to the book and allowed the readers and movie goers to connect. It gave flashbacks and kept all of the important details. You laugh and you cry. But in the end you love it!

Laugh, cry, hold your breath, then this is by far the best Harry Potter movie for you. It ended at such a good moment, to keep you wanting more, but not in an awful cliff-hanger type scene. If you read the book, you're going to love it. It's quite true to the actual story.
It's quite depressing that it'll all be over in a few months.. but my goodness do they do a great job with the movie, effects, acting. It's amazing how far each of these actors has come since they were a child. It's awesome to think about-they're all my age, so growing up with this series has added that extra "something" to it for me.
I do think you'll love it. Definitely shell out the cash to see it. It's worth it!

I enjoyed this movie tremendously. Lots of action and angst, it keeps the viewers glued to their seats, even if "nature" is calling! I didn't even notice 2 1/2 hours had passed when the movie ended!.
My only criticism is that I left wanting more. A 15 minute intermission followed by the finale would have been worth sitting through another 2 1/2+ hours. At the end, the whole audience in my theater let out a "NO" in unison. July 2011 can't get here soon enough for me.

I was half-dreading this one for fear they would have messed it up. Oh no. They got is absolutely right. Sure, a few bits were changed (but not like in other ones) and time compressed in some spots. However, it's by far the best adaptation of the series.
Very much more adult, dark, and intense. Very well done.

Overall this was a great movie. They followed the book amazingly well. As always, there were a couple of scenes that I wish they would have done differently and a couple of scenes I wish they wouldn't have left out. I did not like that they added in brief nudity, as I had my four children with me. Don't understand why they felt the need to put that in when it wasn't in the book. BUT, considering how they've jacked up the last couple of movies, they did a great job. I can't wait for DH2 and the battle of Hogwarts. So glad they made DH into two movies!

This feels like a completely different movie without the clamour of schoolchildren and the mood evoking changes of outdoor scenery. It starts almost immediately with a uniquely orchestrated chase scene with a comical doppleganger decoy setup.
It seems that while every movie since the first has gotten progressively darker, this one comes out a good order of magnitude more brutal than any of the ones before it. There's also an emotional dreariness that goes on for almost too long before the director has interrupted it with something either more jovial or frightening.
I can only say that this movie provides an utterly different experience from the others despite this being something Yates has worked on before. I say he did an excellent job stringing the story together. The horcrux treasure hunt detective story mixed with a very realistic coming of age set of tropes gives the viewer a few neat surprises they haven't had the pleasure of seeing before.

Okay, not great. The movie was hampered by the source material, which consisted of a lot of camping out and running around. Without Hogwarts and the ensemble cast , the magic was missing.
And why was it filmed in a cold, bluish cast? Instead of creating atmosphere, it just made it dreary.
The three stars have really grown as actors though. Their chemistry helped me slog through this movie.

This was a really well put together movie. I personally only had a few problems with some of the consistency and book order to film, but it was excellent and definitely work the watch. If you have not been watching HP do NOT start with this movie, it does NOT give you the background story. Its darker, and more grown up, so be mindful of the children you take.
