The movie was a bit too long for my taste but I understand taking the extra time to show the relationships between the three characters. Over all it sets up the finally in a grand way making my anticipation overwhelming.

Absolutely amazing! They took lines from the book which was awesome for those who have been fans of everything Harry Potter. It stuck to most of the events that happened in the book, I just wish that the second part was out already! I wasn't ready for it to end.

This movie is a bit more mature than the previous installments, but delves beautifully into the most secret places of the characters' thoughts. Beautifully acted and written, but Potter fans may be let down by the film's glossing over some of the details in the book, specifically the trip to Godric's Hollow. Overall a wonderful beginning of the end...

Okay I admit, I haven't read any of the 'long-as-heck' books, but I've seen all the movies at least one, and I can confidently say this one is one of the best. It is for sure the scariest and the most adult of all of the movies (combined!). Whether you've read the book or not, and if you like stunning visuals and god child-acting, see this!

Of course, a must for die-hard Potter fans, and while the film has it's moments, they aren't very well strung together. I'd have to subtitle this one "Waiting for Resolution," as each scene seems to be a big build for something, which never comes; if you haven't read the books, it will be totally unintelligible as a stand-alone movie. Ron's character has the best dialogue and emotional impact. In short, it looks like they filmed 2 1/2 hours of trailers and then patched them together.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

I agree with other reviews in desiring some scenes from the book. However I well prepared considering the really important parts were present. The acting went to a new level, the darkness of the film coincides with the book. The humor was well placed. I laughed, cried, cringed etc. I'll be going back to see this another 2-3 tiimes. Book fans will love the film illustration of Rowlings work and film goers will love the action, chase and suspense.

It was good over all, id say best movie yet in the series. There were some cheesy bits (but I think thats how they wanted them to be?). They added some parts that werent in the book at all, but then left out some crucial parts that I would have traded the non-book parts for. Eh...cant please everyone one though. They followed the book pretty well, the things they have in the movie only vary slightly (besides the stuff they left out completely). Over all very intense film with some good comic relief from the "gingers" and Doby. They set it up nicely for the last one. i will be seeing this again with the fam bam this weekend.

There was nothing disappointing at all about this movie. It was a lot different than the other movies, but still was outstanding. The entire cast did an extraordinary job and words cannot describe how good this movie was. I am going to see it again.

Would like to give 4.5 stars but not allowed. Not quite perfect, especially for those of us who read the book, but still wonderful. The beginning especially was fantastic. Ended at a suspensful moment but set up well for the second part. Only 8 months to wait now!

I really enjoyed it. I thought it followed the movie fairly well. There were a few things I wished they had expanded on but over all I was very happy with it. I liked how there was a good balance of comedy and seriousness. I definately suggest bringing tissues.

Easily the best film of the series, it brings a good mix of adventure, comedy and character development. The film's dark tone should finally persuade viewers that this is no longer a children's story. Emma Watson steals the show, much like her character, Hermione, did in the book. The cliffhanger will leave people awaiting the final installment.

Ok so this movie was scary, funny, and plain action packed. It was so good. I was constantly on my toes for it. The only thing it was I hate the random but yet meaningful black moments when it transitioned from one scene to the next. But that is just me and a pet peeve but I know fur-sure I will see some one-liner funny quotes on Facebook soon enough :D

These characters are like fine wine...they get better and better with age! HP 7.1 was by far the best yet. It artfully combined the everyday concerns of the average teenager with the signature Harry Potter edge-of-your seat action. This movie reveals a new facet of each of our heroes and heroine as they race to find the last of the horcruxes. I believe you would be hard-pressed to find a HP fan leaving this one unsatisfied.

So this rating is actually at least a 4.5, but there was a slight amount of disappointment. The movie sets up for many things to come in the next movie with only a few action scenes that actually achieve something. Besides this... I LOVED IT!!! The acting was great, the scenes were very well-done, and it never lingered too long on a specific part. It's a very dark book, so they incorporated the perfect amount of comedy to push the movie forward. It was amazing and I am definitely going to see it again in theaters! Recommended!

Most Harry Potter fans who have read the books are dismayed by the lackluster presentations of the books in the movie. The last three movies have been dismal, terrible portrayals of the books. Finally, however, the directors have gotten one right. The Deathly Hallows Part 1 is one of the best Harry Potter movies made. There are some details, some larger than others, things a fan who has read the books will notice, that have been left out, but overall the movie was fantastic. I can only hope that some of those details will be seen in Part 2, and that the small but current trend of acceptable Potter movies continues until the very end.

The latest installment in the Harry Potter saga takes us all on a dark and wonderful turn.
Things are increasingly grim in the magical realm that the adolescent Potter finds himself in. "Deathly Hallows - Part 1" captures this very nicely. This is not a happy, cheery or light hearted kiddie pic. For Potter fans though, this one is spot on.
The production values are outstanding, the acting is excellent, and the screenplay sticks very close to the actual book.
I think this part of the Harry Potter Movie Franchise is much better than the previous installment and does well the job of portraying just how dire things are for Harry & Crew at this point in the tale.
I highly recommend this film for all fans of the Harry Potter books.

This has to be one of the best movies of he HP series as far as going along with the book. While it is dark, so is the book. The director does a great job of keeping with the book for the most part and the stopping point for part 2 will be seamless. I would highly recommend this movie.

This was anouther great movie. I thought this would be a hard portion of the story to create into an exciting movie that could stand on its own. They did that and plenty more. This was anouther incredible movie with plenty of content and action to keep the viewer on the edge of his seat. I am looking forward to the last movie with great expectations. I waited in line for 5 hours to watch this movie and I loved it from beginning to end. A lot of people thought it wasn't worth waiting in line for so long but to me it met my every expectation. It stuck to the book amazingly and I just can't wait for part 2.
