As a thinking adult, this may have been the worst movie I ever saw, however, that's what I was expecting, so I wasn't really disappointed. My 10 year old grandson and husband loved it. That said, I can't really recommend it for kids even, because it's filled with the "s" word.

James Reid (CEO and Publisher) of The Daily Sentinel died from an allergic reaction from a fatal bee sting. Brit the son, a hardcore partier, and a waste of air is faced with the reality that he would have to grow up. With the aid of Kato, his dads mechanic and the guy who makes the awesome coffee, Brit and Kato team up to make a difference in fighting the local crime in the city. This movie is suppose to be a action tv show. The Green Hornet actually could fight and kick butt. Kato was just the icing on the cake who could painfully clean house of his opponents. I mean Kato does all the work in this version and Brit’s just a spoiled rich kid taking credit. The film is definitely not worth the 3D price tag. Please watch this film in its regular format. Soft 3 stars out of 5

This movie was funny, had action, and was actually interesting. We all liked it and after having just seen some of the original green hornet episodes from the 60's it was a funny tongue in cheek tribute. I would totally recommend this movie!

Well its a Seth Rogan film after all, what would you expect? Its not a superhero film like Iron Man. This is what Seth Rogan believes would happen if a rich slacker playboy met a martial arts expert/mechanical genius and they decided to play comic book heroes. As goofy as it seems, it has some decent laughs like when the sleeping gas gun accidentally knocks Rogan out for over a week and he must have his revenge against Kato.
This movie never takes itself seriously, and that's a good thing. Its not your father's Green Hornet, but it is funny even if its not all that smart. The gadgets are cool and Jay Chou is one amazing martial artist!
If you enjoy Seth Rogan you'll love this.

Wow! That movie was very cool - gadgets, effects, funny lines, good chemistry between Kato & The Green Hornet. I love that Kato made it a point that he can leave whenever and has no need to hang out with the rich dude. That's what gave them good chemistry that they accept each other as partners and would look out for each other.

I was disappointed in the IMAX presentation. It works better in just 3D. There were too many blurry spots and the audience experience was not what I have experienced before. The movie itself was enjoyed except for language., It seems as though in a world today where we are trying to teach kids young and old to be repectful that we can do without all the bad language and still come up with comic lines probably even funnier.

I saw this movie last night and it was good, but not great! Firsti of all, I'm not a fan of comedy. You could've done away with Seth Rogen atogether. Jay Chou as Kato was awesome, he was the real hero behind the mask. The serious brains behind this outfit. The movie did move at a nice pace, gadgets were cool, and the car they drove was insane! If you are going to see this movie, don't pay full ticket price, go to a matinee flick. Oh yeah, I saw this movie in 3D, and it made no difference either. See the movie regularly if you can, and save yourself a buck or two!

If you're a fan of either the comic book or (gasp, aren't you old?) the radio series, I think you'll really enjoy this. The flavor is there. Gadgets galore, and I actually like seeing how the dynamic between the duo isn't all that warm and fluffy perfect. Lots of explosions and uber violence. If you are a super hero fan and enjoy the use of cool inventions (think Iron Man and James Bond) you will find this movie entertaining. There is plenty of action and lots of laughs. The plot gets muddy part way through. You may also find the conflict between the Green Hornet and Kato to be unbelievable. But hey, this is fantasy. It's a fun show.

If you have not followed the Green Hornet as the comic book and have an open mind, you will enjoy this movie. I enjoyed the movie, however my son said it was confusing. Between both of us it was fun to watch and I laughed a lot. Sometimes laughter is just what the doctor ordered. Wasn't to crazy about The Green Hornet fighting Kato, it all worked out in the end. Good prevails.

I can see 2 different reactions to The Green Hornet .... and both can be well-explained and justified. For many the mere presence of Seth Rogen in this movie - especially playing the title character - will "doom" the experience. I totally get that. For others (and I find myself more in this category) they will be able to "go with the flow" and see this as a new updated take on the famous radio serial hero and his sidekick Kato. I have been tiring of Rogen playing "Rogenesque" characters in his recent films and was not looking forward to his next film. Being a comic book to movie "obsessive nerd" I was going to see The Green Hornet and keep an "open mind". I liked the movie! In this version Seth Rogen's personality actually works (much of the time). The movie's low points are the times it goes to far in "forcing the action and dialogue" to connect to the next plot line. But ... hey .... it's a goofy comic book movie about a "not too well defined, somewhat obscure comic book-ish hero" ... so why not? The serious "don't change anything about my Green Hornet" folks are not gonna like this one - no matter what. For the rest of us we might get a "kick" out of this new Kato and his mal-adjusted, "trying to be better", crime-fighting partner.

The Green Hornet: When you go to a movie like this, it is important to focus on the real purpose of the movie. That is why it is important to watch the previews before going. If you are a real fan of the Comic Book, the name of the movie first grips you with the feel of excitement. Wow! This is going to be a great addition to a series of movies like Superman, Batman, The Incredible Hulk, Spider Man, Iron Man, etc. However, when you see the previews, it becomes very obvious that the movie was not written to be a serious crime fighting movie. The antics of Seth Rogen clearly reflect this in the previews. Therefore, one should quickly be able to decide if this is what you really want to see or not before going. If you are looking for a movie that falls in line with the great ones mentioned above, then I would not go see this movie. However, if you want a good laugh, and appreciate the humor that Seth Rogen can deliver, then this is a movie that I think you will enjoy. It was funny. And, every time I heard Seth talk, I immediately thought of his voice characterization of B.O.B on the movie Monsters vs. Aliens. If that doesn’t make you laugh, then nothing will. (Many of you who are Seth Rogen fans and don’t know of that voice part, will more than likely run out to the store and rent Monsters vs. Aliens this weekend just to hear his voice. I rated that movie 5 stars.)
As for ratings, I felt that Seth was good at portraying that type of humor. However, I thought that Jay Chou, as Kato, was excellent and was the one true thread that held this movie together.
I did not like the casting very much. The throwing together of totally opposite personalities was a little grating on my nerves. And, the constant (but unsaid) friction between Kato and Britt Reid would normally not lend itself to the cooperation required for such a grand endeavor. At times, Batman and Robin had some friction between them as well. However, it was more because they were too much alike as opposed to complete opposites. The combination of Seth and Jay just didn’t feel right. But, maybe it was intended that way.
I thought that Jay Chou, Cameron Diaz and Tom Wilkinson were better suited for a serious version of The Green Hornet. In this, they appeared to have wasted their talents. As a matter of fact, I think they would have been great in the same roles in a serious version. I like Cameron Diaz in anything she does. She handles comedies just as well as serious movies. However, I think she could have done better if she were not overshadowed by Seth’s overacting.
There was plenty of action in this movie. However, beware. If you are bringing your children to see a soft comedy, then there are some pretty graphic scenes that you need to be aware of. If you are extra protective of your children, then go see it yourself first and then make the decision as to whether to bring your kids back to see it or not.
And finally, I think that you see such a vast discrepancy in the User Ratings because some users apparently didn’t target the movie or they just don’t like Seth Rogen. They may have been looking for something other than what they saw. I think that it would be very difficult to fairly rate a movie if you didn’t like the star to begin with. In that case, I would simply not rate it and go on to the next one. I rate this movie 3 stars, but don’t go out of your way to see it if there is something better you want to see.

Seth Rogen has an inflated sense of self worth, which is unearned by the way, and annoys you throughout the film. Aside from the "spoiled brat", Kato is the real deal in this movie. Most reviewers simply are giving unfair reviews because they seem to hate Seth Rogan. He's the best thing about the movie. If you like any of his other films this is probably his best one. Movie was funny, had crazy action scenes, had great characters, in which are not cliche at all like some other reviewers claim. Cliche seems to be used too common from people who just want to sound intelligent for disliking a film, as they give no examples of the cliche in question.
This movie is great, best I've seen in the last 6 months. 3D was good, but no need really. If you want laughs and excitement then go see this awesome movie.

Terrible, Terrible, Terrible -- Saw the movie in high definition 3D. Best 3D i've seen, great high definition, awful, awful, awful movie. Typical agenda movie effeminizing the male. Really, speaking as someone who say the original 1st episode on TV, with Bruce Lee, back in the mid 60s, I can't tell you how awful this movie is. A pure insult to intelligence, to Bruce Lee's memory, to film in general. Classic use of sound and fluff to cover an absolutely terrible script!

Having grown up watching the original Green Hornet I was extremely disappointed with this movie. Brit Reid was cast as a drunken fool. Not good. Glad I didn't spend the money on 3D.

I hated this movie.
I suppose that should be the start.
From the very beginning of the film, I was alternatively bored or disgusted. I left the theater about forty minutes or so into it, bought some popcorn, played some arcade games, etc. When I came back, I felt like that time was better spent out of the theater than in it.
I suppose I should have expected it. I hate Seth Rogen's style. Nothing he does appeals to me. I allowed myself to be wowed before the film by the promise of cool car chases, guns, and explosions; however, those all seemed sub-par with the two main characters' moronic chatter narrating the whole thing.
My favorite scene was where Seth Rogen's character gets his butt kicked. That about sums up my feelings on him.
The only other two scenes worth noting (in a good way) were the one moment where The Green Hornet manages to be awesome (really, just one moment. Don't blink. You'll miss it), and the ending scene of the car.
That reminds me- the Car. Yes, capitalized. they call it something else, but whatever. The car deserves a special award for putting up with the idiocy it was forced to transport.
DO NOT GO SEE THIS MOVIE.
Go rent/Netflix/buy 'Deathrace,' 'The Fast And The Furious,' or even 'Gone in Sixty Seconds' if you want cars, guns, and explosions. Get 'Kickass,' 'Batman Begins' (or 'Dark Knight'), or even 'Sky High' if you want superheroes.
I wish I could get my money back, so I could go see something I might actually enjoy.
Heck, I don't just want my money back, I want my TIME back. I hated this movie so much I want to erase the 1 hour and 48 minutes I spent watching it.
My life would have been improved by not watching this movie.
Don't let yourselves feel the same regret.

just the kind of movie i was in the mood for. lots of action,good comedy, & a buddy flick. green hornet & kato bumble along, but their hearts are ultimately in the right place. the girl ( Cameron Diaz) doesn't just fall in love. she's her own person & her character is very smart & resourceful. my kind of movie.

This film is awful. Seth Rogen is awful. Apparently no one who green lit this piece of crap has seen any of the Batman films lately. They have ruined a potential franchise. People were walking out when I saw it. No wonder they held this movie back, It is so bad, any competition would shut it down. There won't be another even though it had good numbers the first long weekend. Watch for the drastic drop off for this massive, loud, unfunny turkey of a film. Did I mention how bad it was? Can I give it less than 1 star?

the movie was overrated. there was no real reason for Cameron Diaz's character. I'd like to give them credit for their comedic performances. it was definitely hilarious. it kept me laughing the whole time. I feel like the only deal breaker for me was the ending. they build up this huge climax but in a matter of seconds its all over. I would recommend this movie if you just want some laughs not if you're seriously looking for a good movie to watch.
