I wouldn't give it five stars, because Eddie hasn't done a 5-star rating movie since Coming to America - but it was very enjoyable.
A few times, I thought I'd pee myself laughing, so there were good times and throughout, the pace was pretty much the same. Although there were quite a few awkward parts, the intended effect was pulled-off and special effects were not too shabby either.
I really wish Eddie would get more props for at least trying different things in his career.
Good job, Ed - you're on the right track back to where you were in the 80s - 90s!

Unfortunately there were only 4 people in a theater that sat around 100, since everyone wanted to see another movie that was playing. My 11 year old son and I enjoyed the movie although it was a little predictable. Eddie Murphy has a wide range for acting and this one was not one of his best but it was enjoyable. There was some adult humor and and humor for the kids. Hey sometimes you got it and sometimes you don't. That doesn't mean I won't see another of his movies. I would recommend it to anyone who needs a laugh.

My 9 year old daughter really liked the movie. It was cute and definitely clean enough not to offend. Special effects were ok, nothing fancy. I agree with other reviewers that this was not his top potential. You won't be dissapointed, though.

Was I the only person who saw Meet Dave this weekend? Have we all forgotten the man that made us laugh silly for so many years? Or is it the bad press he's been receiving? My expectations for this movie were very low and I had no intentions on seeing it. As an adult I found it to be very predictable but there were a few times that I laughed out loud. i should of gone to see hellboy or journey to center of earth! i cant believe i got talked into this. But it was much better than norbit and had a more kid friendly attitude. it wasnt horendous but it wasnt good either. go see the 3d movie or hellboy wait for dvd on this. i only gave it 2 stars cuz it was a little better than norbit and did have some laughs

Eddie Murphy and crew did an OUTSTANDING job telling an 'alien' love story that is funny, and full of intellectual things. It is a MUST SEE in my book.
