I really enjoyed this movie. It deffinatly reminded me of the orginal, and it made no appoligies for it either. The fx were strong and the set and background were properly dark and gothic, (I'm a sucker for that sort of thing). I wish Anthony and Benicio would have streched there acting muscles a little more and had more screen time together. aAlso I felt the story was a bit rushed. The romaantic side story seemed an after thought as well, But I LOVE a good old monster gore fest so it hit all the right buttons for me.

This film brought you back in time to an older England. The scenery and setting were remarkably well done.
There was plenty of action, and great special effects. Talbot Manor was appropriately creepy, aptly portraying the town sentiment that the family was cursed.
A little more character development with the Fiance would have been good. We don't know her relationship to the gift shop in London.
I liked the way the movie drops you into the action on the moor setting up the first kill.
This was an enjoyable movie, and it exceeded my expectations. The level of gore was appropriate for a monster film.
I would recommend this film to anyone who enjoys the werewolf genre.

Overall a pretty good movie. Gore and macabre scenery effects were impressive if you're into that sort of thing. There was a subtle romance developing and I was glad it did not over power the story. Directing and script were mediocre and could have been a lot stronger with the stellar Hopkins and Del Toro.

It was cast perfectly. The story was predictable. I think Anthony Hopkins actually used some lines from other movies he has done. The script was awful. Loved the consistency of the colors.

Missed the mark, could have been a very good movie but ended up as only fair. We just laughed at the "scary" scenes. As long as you go into this not expecting very much you won't feel like you wasted your time or money. I doubt they will make the sequel they set up for in the closing scene although I think Hugo Weaving would make a much better Wolfman than Benicio Del Toro did.

I thought this film was very well done and a stronger story than the original. It's portrayal of late 19th century England was perfection. The main and supporting characters were played very well and although the plot was predictable, it had enough new twists to make it exciting. I found the attraction between the wolman and his brother's fiance a believable consequence of their mutual desire to escape from their dark and dreary existence. Anthony Hopkins, as the father with the shocking history, played the strongest character and added new drama to this gorey tale. Anyone who enjoys seeing a classic horror movie with enough cg to keep it exciting should see this film! Highly recommended for the genre!

Aside from the great special effects, this movie was really quite bad considering the caliber of actors Hopkins and Del Toro. The revelation towards the end Hopkins was the first wolfman was tainted when also revealed he had killed his wife, other son, and now wanted to kill his second son, (Del Toro), whom he had turned into a wolfman when biting him earlier in the movie. The plot betrays you as father shows affection for his son in the beginning and the turn of events makes you angry the movie didn't move you the way Dracula with Frank Langela did where passion and love are wonderfully portrayed. I'm glad I at least went on a discounted ticket with free drink and popcorn to boot.

The movie was just what I expected. There was hope for a good movie due to the cast but didn't live up to the actors' potential. Didn't get drawn into the story, a few moments of fright for me, not my husband. Wait for DVD if you want to see it.

I have never walked out of a movie before. In fact, I have never even left a movie to use the restroom or get more butter on my popcorn. Wolfman was the first for me. I made it an hour and 15 minutes and decided not to waste any more of my life. The plot is decent and there are lots of big names in this movie. But frankly, I am surprised they even took the rolls. The overly fake gore and the boring "action" sequences made this movie more of a comedy than a horror. The effects were reminiscent of the old-timey Wolfman movies, and by "reminiscent", I mean that the 40's did a better and more thrilling job at suspense than this movie in 2010. Kudos to whoever decided to sit through the entire movie...
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Brilliant (and gory) for an old classic. Very much in tune w/the original Universal Flick ~ directed by George Waggner, with some surprises ~ No one else could have pulled off the Wolfman except Benicio (he looks like Chaney in some scenes!)
