I'm so glad we saw this movie and didn't listen to most reviews. It was a good classic Wolfman movie, not too gory but showed a good transition of him into the Wolfman. The film reminded a lot of Bram Stoker's Dracula the movie. If you liked that one then you'll like this Wolfman version.

I guess I was expecting a liitle more seeing that Joe dante Drected this, Effects were great, Look of movie (Time Period) Great, but it seems to have tried to incorporate alot of other wolfman/werewolf movie stories into one movie. If you never saw the original wolfman with lon chaney jr. you will probably like this movie , If have seen it you might be a little disappointed with this story line.

Although it was visually beautiful, the storyline was not that great. It did have a "twist" and all but it seemed like most of the movie was spent on the "Wolfman" being a beast who likes to slash people. Most of the movie was blood and guts. I thought this movie was great for all of us "old" people out there that remember the Lon Chaney, Jr Wolfman. This follows along pretty closely to the old one. I had high expectations and was a little let down. In hind sight, I'd just watch it on BluRay instead of paying high theater prices.

I am being generous. I give it a 3 star for visual appeal, good acting, and neat effects. I would recommend this to a friend solely because most of my friends are horror movie buffs, and it's a remake of a classic, and therefor an instant "must see". HOWEVER. I was disappointed. My fiance and I were both left shaking our heads in bewilderment. In this rendition the wolfman is so feral he as a beast... yet he just kills for gore factor. He doesn't hang out to eat them or anything. What is he, rabid? It just seemed flimsy. I expected more. Granted the original wasn't so solid, either, but I give credit for being an early movie before audiences were so demanding and so burnt out. I needed more substance and reason than this film could give.

This movie was really good. I read a few of the other reviews before going to see it.One in particular said that it wasn’t bloody enough for them. Really? B/c what I saw was complete bloody horror and I loved it. However it does drag through a few parts but the ending was completely what I hoped for. To become the thing you hunted has got to be a bitch. Great date movie for the guys to take the ladies to. I know I was all over my husbands arm when some of the stuff came jumping out at me. I give it an A-.

I'd like to write a 10 page, in depth rave review of this film, but I'll be kind. Good acting, great special effects and visuals, does everything I want a scary film to do and everyone I know loved it as much as I did. If you haven't seen the film, please don't write a review because you don't approve of horror movies or whatever. It's America! You can go to any movie you want to. This is a great Horror/Werewolf movie. Way cool plot twists! and the ending.....it's respectiful to the original film but a wild, different story and Oscar level period piece. Great character developement and kept me on the edge of my seat to the very end.

We were quite dissapointed . The plot was weak and lack any real imagination. There were two quite talented actors in the cast but even they couldn't save this movie. The special effects weren't bad but not too special since I saw the same thing on 'American Werewolf in London'. Now that movie was original....One other thing there were too many underage kids and even a loud baby that ruin what little enjoyment we got. Maybe next time.....

Period piece...good. Cinematography...good. Art/set decoration...good. Costumes...good. Interesting twist to the new story. CGI's...good. Now for the bad parts(2). 1. Gore was gratuitous. Touring the slaughter was a bit much...seeing mutilated bodies & body parts (a little dab'll do ya.). 2. Best feature of the original was missing from remake...REMORSE. In the original, Talbot suffers tremendous remorse after killing his victims. This torment drives him into a suicidal mindset that makes the audience sympathize with the "Wolfman". In the original, when he is finally destroyed, he returns to his normal form with a peaceful look on his face...the peace he could never find while he was alive. This element was not emphasized in the remake.

This movie was very disappointing. With Oscar winning/nominated cast members the acting should have been better. It felt like they just wanted to finish the movie. I felt like the director let the cast and fans down by putting this movie together so sloppily. You couldn't take any of the characters seriously, whether or not they were supposed to be funny. This movie was bad acting, bad mixing, bad effects and very bad directing.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Great Actors were not utilized to their potential. Anthony Hopkins was much the same character as in "legend of the Fall". Benecio Del Toro was not up to par. The movie was too predictable and not suspenseful enough. No Wow factor for this one

While I waited to see this as it looked good from the trailer, I was a little disappointed. The story is decent but I would have thought the effects would have been better. The cast is excellent, but never really gel together. This movie falls right into the middle, decent, but I wouldn't recommend it over anything else
