I was really looking forward to a great movie. Unfortunately, this version of the age-old werewolf story fell flat. I'd even say it got to be boring.
The wolfman make-up on Del Toro wasn't nearly as impressive as I expected it to be with today's artistry.
It's a good story, with a nice romantic twist, but not worth seeing on the big screen. Wait until it's on DVD.

My expectations were high for this movie based on the trailers that I saw and I thought the movie was really good. While the trailers alluded to a more fantastical werewolf movie I feel it played out well. The storyline held my interest and the special effects were very good. With all the amazing things that can be done with movies today I felt this movie portrayed a decent werewolf....reminiscent of the good old days of black and white. Not overly horrific but just enough 'scare factor' to make you flinch a time or two.

The only reason I went to see this movie was because my father wanted to go see it. We both disliked it, and he likes movies easily. The graphics were decent, and this is being generous, but the wolfman looked terrible, there were few parts where it could seem as if it were realistic, but most of the time it looked off beat and horrid. The acting was alright, some better than others, but for the most part this movie did not meet any sort of quota. If you are a fan of wolfman and werewolf movies, just wait till it comes out to add it to your collection, just don't watch it, it isn't worth the time.

The reason to Remake a movie is to improve on it, which makes this attempt a complete FAILURE. If you only care about blood & gore you may like it. If you actually want a story, great actors used to their full potential or a wolfman costume that doesn't look like the original movie mask just in color; then avoid this movie at all cost. My favorite bad part is the "Shirts & Skins" final battle were 1 wolf rips off his shirt so us dumb folk can tell them apart. Talk about playing down to your audience.

This was a pretty good werewolf movie. The actual wolf gets a lot of face time instead of it just being inuendo. The gore factor was kinda high, but what do you expect? There were a few jump in your seat moments which is alway good. All in all I would recommend this movie. However, I would say it is definitely not for kids under 13 if not older.

I really liked this version of the Wolfman. It was very well acted. Benicio and Anthony did not disappoint and played their parts perfectly. Also, the movie pace was well thought out. Excuse the title but I couldn't think of anything else. All of the actors are bored or seemingly bored (Benicio Del Toro sunk his own money into the project but still doesn't look excited), the film is extremely rushed and uninteresting, and the action scenes are few and far-between. Another issue I would like to address is the film's effects. I have no problem with the old-timey make-up and prosthetics for the actual wolfman that harken back to the 1941 original, but the "real" animals in the film are computer-generated. I just cannot accept that a real deer would pose a great threat to the crew. But then again a deer would probably have more bite than this wolf does.

I thought it was a good movie it had a great story line but I kept waiting for the love conquers all to happen. Maybe his lovely lady could save him um no didnt happen. And so is told a tragic tale at Blackmoor in England. - 'The Wolfman' is a classic style monster movie. It has the same atmosphere as the original from 1941. Even the visual effects are for the most part old school. It really takes you back to monster movies of old. The difference is that the costumes and sets are more accurate and detailed than the old movies. A great re-make, with good acting, and plot twists to make it fresh. It brings the original up to date, but retains the old flavor. Very enjoyable.

While the story and acting are a bit weak, the cinematography, special effects and mood of the movie are well done The movie harkens back to the horror genre of the 40-50s. If you like good old-fashioned horror, and the classic Lon Chaney Wolfman, this is the ticket. I can't believe that people are giving this a bad review? Serious the fact that this holds 32% on R.T. is shocking to me. The acting was marvelous and on par with American Werewolf in London. Del Toro did Lon proud with his preformance and Hopkins was very convincing.
And to those that say it was "predictable", you do realize this is a re-make right? A homage to the original and the plot and ending is going to be basically the same (with of course its own little twists and turns to make it its own.)
This was one of the better horror movies of the past two years. It was suspensful, it was bloody, it have some slight humor and it was dramatic and romantic.
This movie had it all.
Freaking Epic.

Not worth seeing like others I left the theater feeling like the movie was to short or like it was missing something...I would suggest just watching the original if you're interested in this as the wolf itself really had no difference in the costume then the first one... much to be desired with this movie

I enjoyed this film but left the theater feeling as if it was missing something. More time could have been spent on plot development. All the actors were excellent, but I had expected more.

Overall it was "ok" I am a big horror movie fan and I guess I was expecting more. With the special effects they have now, I expected more than a couple in this movie. Reminded me of watching the first one. Husband even fell asleep during it. Drawn out.

I don't know where Hollywood.com gets off giving this flick a 1/2 star rating, but this movie is an example of glorious classic film-making with an HD twist. Acting, cinematography, creature special effects, and a realistic re-creation of 19th century England were all imparted to the viewer with the utmost of quality expressiveness and meticulous craftsmanship.The cadence of the movie and the editing could have been better executed, but all in all, a very worthwhile flick.
