If you liked the previous movies, you'll like this one. It was like Indy was never gone. It was a treat. I loved the references to things in the previous movies. The movie was really awesome, great indiana jones type action and adventure. the only issue i had was with the story line towards the end--it became a just a little bit weird...but otherwise its definitely a great movie and i recommend it to anyone who likes adventure movies.

Good fun if you don't try to pick it apart. Realism has never been the foundation of an Indy film and that didn't change here.
It has some faults which feel like they have Lucas' stamp on them. The jeep chase scene was just poorly done and vine swinging belongs in another movie.

I'd read other people's reviews here before I went to see it and was worried it wasn't going to be very good. I liked it though. It was interesting, funny and fun to watch. It may not be the best IJ movie but I do think it kept in the spirit of the other ones. Good movie!

Indy was a big part of my youth. Dad always took us to see the newest installment and we loved every fantastic, heroic, unlikely moment! This weekend the tradition moved on a generation as my dad took me and my 4 kids to see Indy return. It is not the " best movie ever" but it is great entertainment! Exciting adventures that are unbelievable at times but you don't care because it is too much fun! Go see it and ENJOY!!!

This Movie was FUN! Plain and Simple! I can't for the life of me understand why people are taking the movie SO seriously. This is supposed to be a fun, popcorn, edge-of-your-seat movie and it ABSOLUTELY is! Life can't be so mired in negativity and disdain to where you can't escape in films. All in all I liked this film. The story wasn't the best of the series, but it was engaging. Harrison Ford still has the character nailed and was believable in the action scenes. The rest of the cast did a good job. The only thing I didn't like was the obvious overuse of CGI. Almost every scene had CGI, even scenes that you wouldn't think needed CGI...for example the scene in front of the warehouse. All the actors and extras looked more like animated cartoon characters then real people on the screen. It even looked as if the extras were done with CGI. CGI should be used sparingly or used in such a way that it's difficult to tell that you're watching CGI. Otherwise it's very distracting. As I said though, not bad. I'm glad I saw it, but I don't think I'll be buying the DVD/

I won't waste your time or mine on a lengthly review. Understand, I own and have viewed all previously made Indiana Jones movies and have watched them countless times... this movie stinks. Lucas & Spielberg should offer a public apology for it... it should be available on DVD any day, and in the DVD close-out bins in a matter of a week or so. Save your money.

This movie was all CGI and no plot, dialogue, character development, or acting. Crystal Skull makes the same mistakes of the last three Star Wars movies--just throw a bunch of CGI schemes together and call it a movie. Everything I loved about the first three were missing from this sequel. It's too bad they made this movie because the third installment had the perfect ending for the series.

Harrison Ford does a good job of relinquishing the major action to his co-star. I was surprised the special effects weren't better. Most was a bit too unbelievable. We were thinking National Treasure the whole time as far as the story line. The supernatural premise was over the top corny. However, I loved getting reacquainted with an old favorite, Indiana Jones.

I loved the first three IJ movies but found this particular effort lacking. To me there was nothing fresh about this film - the three previous films all had something unique and new. This movie is another great Indy movie. Harrison Ford does a wonderful job bringing Indy back to life. Shia is a great sidekick in this movie. Wonderful story line. A few cheesy moments and more CGI that I expected but it's 2008 not the 1980s.

Having been a fan of the series, I looked forward to the new Indy movie. I had not realized that 19 years had elapsed and so did not realize that neither my 13 year old nor my 17 year old were around to see the first films originally. My daughter, 13, had never seen an Indy film. She really enjoyed it. My son, 17, had seen the others and found it just "OK". Though I was happy to see the old faces and familiar with the general flow of the film, I was dissapointed that the filmmakers seemed to ask us to accept a much lower level of storytelling than in the past. My son spent the ride home recounting all the more current films from which this film stole scenes, plot devices, settings and even characters. The series premiered as a complete orginal in its time. It seems warmed over today. For nostalgia, lovely period shots, a great score and a reprise of well-loved characters, go see it. If you need something with a better storyline and a new twist or two, go see Ironman.

To give you a point of reference, I'm 34 years old, I saw "Raiders" with my dad and my brother during its original theatrical run and I've been a fan ever since. I was thrilled that a 4th movie was in the works, and was hopeful that it would be a welcome addition to the series; after hearing how Harrison Ford, Steven Spielberg and George Lucas had refused to put anything out until they were satisfied with the script, I had only gotten more excited.
I saw the 12:01am showing on Wednesday night/Thursday morning. Oh, boy.
The problems, in my eyes, are this: the script is mediocre at best, and George Lucas is up to his old tricks in putting way too many unnecessary, computer-generated effects and kid-focused action into the film. The first movies -- though far-fetched at points -- had a "real" feeling to them, while parts of this look more like a cartoon or a video game. Some of the humor is way too ham-fisted (though some jokes do work), and the suspension of disbelief that the audience is asked to give is a little bit of a stretch.
It's not a complete failure: there are certainly crowd-pleasing moments (the opening chase sequence, a motorcycle chase through the streets of New Haven, CT), and a few tips-of-the-cap (or fedora) to the die-hard fans of the series. But when the best thing you can say about a movie featuring beloved characters is "It was OK" or "It was pretty good," then there's a problem.
Would I recommend it? Yes, if only so you can judge for yourself. If you're a casual fan and want to see some light, fun adventure for 2 hours, then this should do the trick. If you grew up with the films, know all the lines and want to be blown away with the latest exploits of Indy, then you may be a bit disappointed.

I enjoyed this movie, it was suspenseful, funny and exciting. Took the whole family and they loved it also. Like all of the Indiana Series. It was a Great Movie to see.

This episode did not have the start to finish, non-stop action of any of the first three but I don't move as fast as I did 25 years ago, either. It was still a lot of fun, especially for someone the same age as Indy...can't imagine getting up again after the first encounter. Had a great time and will add it to my collection when it comes out on DVD.

Movie tried to be too cute too many times. Effects were OK to great in some parts. Tried to pack in too many things - perhaps to fuel the video games and fun park rides to follow. Hope Ford tries again

Being over 60, seeing older actors, and the tie in to the other 3 Indiana Jones movies, made the movie a real success. After the ending, looking for another Indiana Jones is two years!

This film can almost review itself since it continues in the tradition of the previous three Indiana Jones flicks (although the thrid came out almost twenty years ago). It is predicatble in the sense that Jones (Harrison Ford) is put through the usual harrowing experiences, meeting them all with aplomb. He is still afraid of snakes and is still wearing his trademark hat.. This edition is heavy on computer generated images, which have become commonplace in the years since the first three films, but they are used to good effect. The film makes a connection to the original film ("Raiders of the Lost Ark") since Karen Allen reappears for the first time since that film. Furthermore it turns out she has fathered Indy's son who also plays a prominent part in this film and leaves open the possibility of replacing Indy in additional sequels. All in all, ithis flick cannot match the original "Raiders" but is I think better than the other two films in the series. Hey, you won't have to think, but you'll probably have a good time!
