I love all the old Indy movies and like Harrison Ford a lot. I also love previous Lucas and Spielberg efforts. I was a bit disappointed in this film. The writing should have been much better and the plot better developed. It was action-packed from beginning to end, with little character development and interaction. The ending was just plain stupid in my humble opinion. Indy (and us Indy fans) deserved a better send-off. I would recommend it though, as my teenage daughter and her friends loved it and it was still fun to watch.

Went to see it last night, nothing to rave about. Cate Blanchett was good as the evil scientist, but in the end, it was the same old tired plot. I liked the insinuation at the end that maybe Shia LeBouf would be replacing him. But overall, I'd wait for it to come out on DVD. Go see if you must, but money better spent elsewhere.

Indiana Jones was a lot of fun. I ofter come away from movies shaking my head as to why they did this or didn't do that. Crystal Skull was a very rare exception. Harrison Ford didn't come across as nearly as old as I had thought he might, and he certainly didn't sit on the sidelines and let Shia LaBeouf do all the action.
Yes, the story is weak in spots, but I think this is due mostly to lack of depth in the villains. Kate Blanchett does a very good job - with what she has to work with, but her cohorts were cardboard cutouts giving it a bit of a "Temple of Doom" feel to things.
The movie probably could have been longer - I think they glossed over the "archeology" aspect too quickly - there didn't seem to be much mystery to the puzzle they were trying to solve.
And not enough creepy crawlies! With all the spider webs we saw, there was not one spider! And Indy stuck his hand in a dark hole and - pulled on a rope. No slime, no goo, no hissing.
As for the visual effects, for once a movie that isn't overdone on the CGI - it feels like it's used more sparingly than it is, but some of the CGI mimicked the "old school" way of doing things, and I thought they mostly pulled it off.
I liked the "red" touch, but it got lost. In the end. I think they needed the reds turning the place upside down looking for the ultimate weapon. It would have been consistent with previous installments - having Irina seeking ultimate knowledge in the end just didn't seem to fit.
All in all we had a lot of fun. This isn't a perfect movie. It might not even be considered a great movie, but it was well worth the money, and I haven't said that in years!

Good but predictable. Even without seeing the movie, bringing back Karen Allen set it up for a child and wedding. Otherwise it was quite enjoyable. Appreciated the fact that they used pictures of Henry Sr. and Marcus in the beginning as a time reference. Lacked the gore of Temple of Doom and some of the heart of Raiders and Last Crusade. Overall still a good movie.

This movie was disappointing. Although the special effects and action seance were great, the story and flow of the movie lacked. The whole thing with Karen Allen was just weird. If you are all about action and special effect, then you need to see it on the big screen. If you have a great home entertainment system, I would wait for the DVD, save some cash and a time when you have nothing better to do.

Personally I did not care for this one. I found the story hard to follow and there was not near the adventure in it. I thought about Indiana Jones' age (in fact he even brings it up in the movie) and figured maybe this was why the lack of adventure. I still love Harrison Ford, but I did not enjoy this movie.

I absolutely loved this movie! To be honest, I went in thinking "how good could a fourth installment be?" Well I was not disappointed!! From the beginning of the soundtrack to the ending credits I was hooked. After 19 years from the last Indy film, this film makes it feel like Indy never went away. I really enjoyed the film and believe it holds up well against the original three films. It was a great escape and just plain enjoyable watching the adventures of Indy and freinds. Definately worth seeing if you want some fun, mindeless entertainment.

This was a slow starter, got a little better, got a lot worse. The sci-fi part of this was awful. We have all seen at least a dozen shows with the same ending. We were expecting so much more from Indian Jones, although it was good to see Harrison Ford in this role again. Maybe we just grew up.

I am a HUGE Indiana Jones fan. This movie should have never been made. Many of the situations in the first Indy movies were completely plausible, the acting was sharp, lines witty and more importantly there was a story. The Crystal Skull has none of this. It's just a film filled with special effects with no substance. When I went, many people in the theater were laughing at scenes because they were so bad, and several left early. Save your $- for the fans who have to see it, wait for rental.

I really enjoyed the movie, the special effects and the acting. Long a fan of Harrison Ford, I found him as charismatic as ever. I like happy endings, too. But I don't think the kid will ever be able to fill Harrison Ford's shoes as the next Indiana Jones so I hope they don't try that.

Spielburg should be ashamed of himself. He took a story that could have been great and made it into a circus. Some of the scenes were so unbelievable, it became hokey (Shia swinging through trees like a monkey, Karen Allen driving a car off a cliff and landing on a tree and lowering them into the water, a 5 min. sword fighting scenes while spanning a couple of vehicles - so ridiculous). I saw lots of kids in the theater and I doubt they understood the story at all. I want 2 hours of my life back so I can go see "Iron Man". :-(

The movie was great! Not as good as the first one but wonderful in it's own right. It did drag a bit from time to time. But, Dr. Jones RULES! I definite must see summer movie.

I feel this movie did not live up to the past three installments. Don't get me wrong, it was good to see Indy back on film, but the story was weak and the alien thing at the end was just weird. I think Lucas and Spielberg could have done a better job. This felt thrown together and rushed. If I had to sum it up in one word: Silly

The story was great - right up until they went all ET with it. Was very unimpressed with most of the movie. The CGI was sub-par at best, with it being very noticeable when they shot in front of a green screen. Being a lighting technician for musicals, plays, concerts - I am very critical of lighting and it sucked in this movie. I hate to say I was letdown by an Indy movie but I was!! Go see Iron Man!

Very hurt at the movie...just speechless. The first three installments are better. First movie of the summer I attended with no audience applause. Iron Man and SATC audiences were way more pleased.

There were a few things that were slightly farfetched about the movie...but it's Indiana Jones, so it was OK. You have to accept a few things. The movie was extremely enjoyable, with the humor and action you'd expect from Indy.
