Easy question to determine whether or not you will like this movie: Did you like the other three? If so, buy your tickets, relax and enjoy. If you you didn't, keep looking. Crystal Skull is faithful to the tradition set by the other three: dramatic - if unlikely - chase scenes, good vs. evil, harrowing escapes from certain death, etc. Karen Allen is a delightful reprise as Marion, John Hurt is marvelous as Oxley, and Harrison Ford picks up where he left off nineteen years ago. A few inside jokes that you wouldn't get if you had not seen the earlier movies. Far better than Temple of Doom, perhaps not quite as good as Last Crusade; Crystal Skull is a worthy successor to the Indiana Jones saga.

This instance of the Indiana Jones movies was really bad. The Indy character didn't have his traditonal "clued out" but still in the game attitude. The whole movie seemed like a plot by the writers and producers to carry on his name with a younger actor in order to make more money. I told myself early in the movie that I would walk out if there were aliens or spaceships, I should have listened to myself. The story was dumb.

This movie is the perfect ending because it ties up all of the loose ends to create a fully finished story. More of the Indy action we all love so much. Glued to my seat the whole time. The only question now is...Do we call it the Indiana Jones QUADrilogy?

First movie in a theatre I've gone to in a long time. Wanted to show my support. I have always loved the I.J.movies, but this one was a little disappointing. I guess we will always long for the Indiana of years back. Not enough of the subtle funny stuff form previous movies. (Kate Capshaw screaming from horrible creature to the next--while Indy was totally oblivious; shooting the sword-wielding bad guy instead of fighting him; etc.) I was glad to see him reunited with Marion, even though her acting seemed like "I'm just here." All in all, I'm glad I supported it, as Harrison Ford has given me many hours of entertainment over the years. He still has the Indy part down pat.

My husband and I ,boomers, really enjoyed the movie. It was classic Spielberg and Lucas and stayed true to the Indiana Jones style and series. It was also great to see the movie with the original actors,even it they are aging. A great testimony to age is relative to your attitude and that there are still great adventures out there for those of us who are 50 plus :)! Great action, classic Indiana Jones Dialouge and the new kid does a fantastic job. Looking already forward to the next installment!!

We loved the movie -- especially some of the references to previous Indy movies. It was exciting and action packed, and having Marian back and finding out that Indy had a son tied up some loose ends that were really aggravating. The only two negatives we have are that the "bad guy" wasn't bad enough and there wasn't enough information or action about where Marian and the new Junior had been.

Saw this with my 12 y/o son and his two friends. We all loved it. The ending rocked like Indiana meets ET. Awesome chase scenes. Great historical references, like the refrigerator escape and the Spanish conquistadors. Real enjoyable summer escape fun!

This movie is definitely worth seeing if you grew up on the original Indy films. It has all of the essential elements that made the series great: Indy and his sidekicks vs. some evil goons chasing after some magical artifact, ancient ruins full of dangers, lots of thrilling chases, stunts, and fisticuffs, all set in the post-war, red-scare 1950s. Harrison Ford still pulls off a convincing Indy, despite his age, which is hard to ignore. Karen Allen and Cate Blanchett are also fun to watch, while the other actors are mostly forgettable. The flaws? The story is mildly disjointed, the ending was predictable and somewhat lackluster, and the movie lacks...heart--which is remarkable given that this is Spielberg we're talking about. Maybe it's because there wasn't any chemistry between Indy and Marion. But, despite these flaws, it is still an enjoyable Indy movie and great summer escapism.

I'm not sure why anyone would give this movie a mediocre or poor review. Maybe it's the Monday Morning Quarterback Syndrome (I have seen all the other Indiana Jones movies and I know best what this movie should have been). Posh! I go to the cinema to be entertained. And this film was completely entertaining. There were very few throwbacks from previous movies (regardless of what other reviews state - quite frankly I'm not sure what movie some of these people saw) and the few that were used were used very well. There was lots of thrilling adventure, chases, doom-filled experiences to keep you on the edge of your seat. The story line was in keeping with all the rest of the series (discovery of things that are mysterious but part of our mythological culture....afterall, has anyone actually found the Ark?) Go see it. Don't let anyone else decide for you about this movie. I loved it and would go see it again and will definitely be adding it to my collection when it comes out on DVD.

too much CGI and getting too far fetched. Aliens are not a part of Indiana Jones lore. PLEASE back off the CGI and use more true location shots. . Jungle chase scene too long ( does anyone use brakes?), way too many KGB guys running around Frank Marshall University without cops and FBI after them, some rough transitions but overall a fun way to spend a muggy afternoon or date night. Harrison Ford a bit tired, but still great. We miss Marcus!!

Thoughts... I was in shock the whole movie from the very beginning because of the horrible acting. It was so bad in the beginning I thought we were watching him being filmed. As if we were watching some horrible acting for some silly movie and then they would say cut and the REAL Indiana Jones Movie would start. Disappointment set in big time that this was the movie. Seeing Indy do really athletic moves that the first 3 Indy movies put together have never done makes seeing a 70+ year old do them look really stupid. They had the young guy in the movie so let him do all the big athletic movies while Indy approves, but to see Dr. Jones at 70+ do them ruins the whole movie IMO. Pro's Good special effects, and really cool designed settings. Good story Con's Really Bad acting. Indy did way to much physical stuff. A lot of slow parts. I don't want to give the movie away but Indy figured stuff out way to fast but maybe that comes with age.
