I am glad I saw the movie. It was entertaining. There was no part that shocked or surprised me. The special effects were really good. The actors/actresses in the movie were really good. Overall, it was an entertaining movie, but it did not blow me away.

not the best Indiana Jones, but it is good. It was heavy handed with political statements at the beginning. Overall, it was fun and worth the money and time. Just don't go in with set expectations.

Okay, I admit it. I am a big time Indiana Jones fan. I watched young indiana jones tv show, watched all the movies ad nauseum, and searched the web for tidbits on the movie for years. When it came out, did you expect anything less than a 12:01 showing in my hometown?
As for the movie? Its INDIANA JONES! lets face it, Raiders of the Lost Ark wasn't the Green mile, nor shawshank redemption, it was a smash em up funny action adventure based on historical trivial fact. And what was this movie? A smash em up funny action adventure based on historical trivial fact.
See a pattern here? its exactly what you expect from a Jones flick. To be fair, the start was a bit cheezy with horrible dialouge. When the action scene started up, it got much better and carried through the film. Towards the end, (grand finale), it got cheezy again. But between the cheese was a whole lot of classic indy humor with action that was over the top. I only shiver at what kind of movies the first three would have been if they had the arsenal of CGI tools that they have today.
As far as Ford's age, screw the critics. Old man held his own. It was a great, impossible to fall asleep in roller coaster ride. If you havent seen the first three...watch it. It makes more sense.
I give the acting 3 out of 5, story 3 out of 5, general humor and likeability, 5-5. It was about as riveting as the national treasure movies.

While not on par with the first or third movies, Crystal Skull is certainly better than Temple of Doom. While there are some glaring technological issues (digital counters in the 1950's?), overall the movie is fun to watch. Seems to take of bit of time before it really gets moving. Opened on 4 screens at our local cineplex, and we barely filled one theater.

This film has plenty to laugh at and plenty to be nostalgic about the first three Indy movies, but it was sure missing the storyline that made the other ones great. This played a lot like a b-movie imitation of an Indiana Jones film. The action in this movie is worth the price of the ticket. Favorite moment -- when we got to see a bit of the insides of a long-lost crate in a warehouse.
We went to the midnight show, and I'm pretty sure my spouse and I were the oldest people in the theatre.

Kingdom of the Crystal Skull fits right in with the other adventures. It had a little bit of everything, from comedy to action to suspense, there were times when i was at the edge of my seat. I would recomend this film to anyone who is a fan of Indiana Jones.

First off I'm an Indiana fan, a Star Wars fan...Heck...a Lucas/Spielberg fan from way back... I swear Ive seen 'Temple of Doom over 100 times.... not exagerating... Every Indy film found Jones in a perilous situation in which both his bad luck and good luck collided throughout the film. It seemed sometimes like he had the worst luck ever but somehow he would triumph with each of the films having a comic realism to them... such as the scene from 'Last Crusade when Indy was kickin butt on the fighter plane's machine gun until he his inexperience was shown by shooting off his own tail fin...then blaming it on the enemy saying "Dad...they got us!" That being said... this movie was a horrible disappointment to me.... The scenes not only looked fake...but seemed fake as well. The lines were set up as if they were "trying" to make Indiana Jones sound like Indiana Jones and there were many big Hollywood special effects that seemed unnecissary. The scene with the boy swinging from vine to vine in front of the (obvious) blue screen jungle made me move around in my seat with an uncomfortable "wtf?!" sort of squimishness. The "hiding in the fridge to survive the nuclear blast" scene... another "wtf?!" I mean.... I got the gag...the fridge was lined with lead...its just ... just... It was COMPLETELY UNBELIEVABLE... That being said....most of the action scenes seemed to take place in front of a blue screen. This added to the film failing to excite and entertain me. There was NOT ONE point in the action of the film in which I moved around in my seat squimishly due to a feeling of perilousness... Indeed... if they were shooting to put him in more "over the top" situations in this film than the previous films...they succeeded alright... they did this so well in fact that not ONE action scene felt real. I don't know if Spielberg and Lucas are beginning to show their age or if they let someone else actually make this film and just slapped their name on the product to make a quick buck but I will forever think of Indiana Jones as a "Trilogy."
