Not as good as the first, way better than the second, and it edges out the third. Lots of cliches are either embraced or circumvented. Ford is great. Karen Allen is RADIANT and it's criminal that she has been out of acting for years because there were so few parts for an actress her age. Does it make a lick of sense? Nope! Do I care? Nope! Cate Blanchett is hot with a black pageboy haircut. Problems encountered from other movies (beware -- possible spoilers): ALI BABA BUNNY: I expected Mac to dive into the gold screaming, "Gold gold gold! Down down down! Mine mine mine! I'm rich! I'm a happy miser!" THE LOST SKELETON OF CADAVRA: There is a LOT in this movie that Larry Blamire should consider suing over. It's "The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra" on a "Star Wars" budget. I kept waiting for a skeleton to say, "Obey the Lost Skeleton!" and "I sleep now!" Cate Blanchett looked a lot like Animala and I kept waiting for her to say, "Rowr!" and "Rock dance, Dr. Jones. Do the rock dance." PLAUSIBILITY: Did it bother me that ancient technology was able to make death traps the size of the Sears Tower? No. Was I skeptical when 65 year old Harrison Ford breezed through dangers that no 45 year old could survive? Uh uh. But I sure as h*ll said, "Wait a minute -- this is 1957 -- people did NOT applaud in church!" Wrecked the whole suspension of disbelief for me. Somewhat. Terrific movie and Harrison Ford & Karen "I have winning freckles" Allen are still a great team.

I liked this movie and thought it went well with the ones that came before it. I am hoping they will eventually continue this series at some point. My wife and our friends had a blast.

I fought off the negative reviews and I guess I should have my "skull" examined. I would sum up this lame homage to a movie icon by saying everything was "too old" ....the plot, the action, the dialogue, the effects, Karen Allen, Harrison Ford and, apparently, Steven Spielberg. Maybe everyone was "mailing it in" as the public rant to do another one kept droning on and they finally decided to "get it out of the way". Sad - because they could have made a good one and the nostalgia would have been intact. Skip it and watch the original or any of the first 3 instead.

I was so excited to see the new Indiana Jones movie. I was counting down the days. So, I really headed into the theater expecting greatness. Wow, was I disappointed. While the previous movies weren't exactly believable, but still had a fun, imaginative ambience, this one was completely ridiculous. None of the physics lined up, and the story line made absolutely zero sense. It wasn't even remotely believable, and I nearly walked out when one of the jerks started swinging from vine to vine keeping up with the moving vehicles on the ground below. I was really let down from what I expected based on previous Indy movies. Booo! :(

i went to see this movie with my 8yo son. We thought it was great. The ending was a bit unbelievable but what isn't in these movies. I it was deficiently a better better movie for kids than the dark night .

without giving away a portion of the movie, let me just say, the ending is the worst. the movie itself is interesting and enjoyable to follow until we find out what is special about the skull....totally unbelievable garbage.
I was really looking forward to seeing this movie. unfortunately, I should have waited and caught this one on TBS.
