As a movie, it was fine. It was actually really great there was some good screen plays, but if you are seeing it because of the book...don't bother it was a terrible making of the book. They changed a lot and they didn't even write in the awesome dude in the wheelchair. They also didn't put in almost anything about the Research lab, which was IMPORTANT! They changed A LOT, and they killed the suspense that was in the book by doing so. OH and by the way...Vittoria and her father (or "research partner" in the movie) were supposed to be THE ONLY ONES who knew about the experiment, there was no research team because then It's not really a secret if a lot of people are working on it, anyone of them could've been a suspect.

We went into this movie with high hopes, and the movie more than delivered! This movie (to myself & my husband) came off much better than the first,..the pacing was seamless, the storyline very edgy without being too convoluted or confusing.
Tom Hanks pulls out his usual acting chops, but in our book, the movie belongs to Ewan McGregor. Amazing job!
It's definitely going to be in our purchases when this movie comes out on Blue Ray/DVD....It's very well done and keeps you guessing till the end!

Strengths: Nice looking, especially considering lack of cooperation from the Catholic church who is so central to the film.
Weaknesses: Acting is not memorable. But that's far from the biggest problem. The burdensome explanations required have characters saying things they would never need to say. Everything moves way too fast: Hanks' professor is viewed suspiciously in the morning due to his prior work, but by that evening they trust him with their lives. The "anti-matter" explosion is described as being something completely devestating, on the order of a nuclear bomb, yet it air-bursts no more than 10-15,000 feet over St. Peter's square, and nobody appears to be killed.

Unrealistic "dialogue" in which the characters explained things to each other that they already would have known weighed down the suspense. Some of the lines were so corny we rolled our eyes, and the acting was over-dramatic. And WHY is there always a female "sidekick" who is MUCH younger and more attractive than the male lead, who wouldn't really be involved in the action but for her eye-candy appeal, and who -- in this case --was allowed into high-security areas where anyone else would have been denied access? It took Tom Hanks' character 10 years to get access to the Vatican vaults, and he had to have a private meeting with the guy with the keys, yet she gets in immediately and for no real reason? Come on.

My expectations ( influenced by the trailers) were not quite met by ‘Angels & Demons’. It didn’t give the sense of mystery and suspense I had expected, or the feeling of urgency that I believe they were trying to create. While the plot twists and turns weren’t obvious, they were telegraphed far enough in advance that they were not surprising. Beyond these shortcomings, I very much enjoyed the beautifully filmed tour of areas of the Vatican and vicinity that you don’t normally see. It was also interesting enough that the two and half-hours didn’t feel overly long. Overall I was expecting a five star, but felt it was a four at best.

I liked it, mainly because I enjoyed the scenery, but I also thought it had alot of action. Some parts, I will admit, were far fetched but all in all I enjoyed it. I like Tom Hanks. Another far-fetched fan-pleaser from Ron Howard and Tom Hanks. Admitedly, I haven't read the novel, but I can understand why its devotees would be upset by the film's loose allegiance to it. However, the movie does what movie's do. It entertains. And although you may tissue with some of the more outlandishly contrived plot elements, or with Hanks' familiarly bland performance, you still have an exciting thriller which is educational to boot. Dan Brown faithful beware, but otherwise, a decent film.

Well, at least the haircut is better. If you read the book, don't keep it in your memory when you watch the movie. There are similarities, but enough differences to that it could have used another title. To enjoy this movie, you need to suspend your belief of time and distance.
It's packed with action from beginning to end and, of course, Dan Brown's intermix of fact and fusion about symbols and church. The dialogue appears to be mostly fill between action scenes.
The views of Rome are spectacular, the special effects are grand, and the product placements are mostly subtle. It's a great escape film with the meaning and depth of "Night At The Museum 2."
I'd say wait for Netflix, but the grandeur may be best seen on wide screen.

I did not read the book and I enjoyed the movie. Hanks played an interesting character, a mix of antagonist and hero. The puzzling through the symbols' hidden meanings, the chase scenes, the old world beauty of Rome and the history, for me an engineer, overcame the silly science concerning anti-matter. But two in my family read and enjoyed the book. For them the movie, at least in part, disappointed. I am a Protestant; I wonder what Catholics thought of the movie.

Considering this is a very long complex book (21 hours by audiobook), they did an excellent job adapting it for the screen. A few minor deviations in the ending but nothing of significance. Good escapist summer fun. It's not going to challenge you mentally or emotionally but that's about perfect for this time of the year. Go and just enjoy without being bogged down by reality.

This one was better than the first (Davinci Code). It keeps you going thru the whole movie. A little different than the book, but still very good. Mistery and religion, great for a good movie.

The movie keeps you guessing all the way to the end. Not as better as the first one maybe because we all ready know what the movie is about. Great scenes of what the church looks like and their secrets. Above all we loved the movie.

Liked this one better than the DeVinci code but maybe because I read the book so long ago that I wasn't constantly making comparisons with the movie. Scenes of the Vatican were beautiful. Great escape movie.

Angels & Demons was thrilling, fun and made absolutely no sense. A perfect summer movie! Much more entertaining than the first one...congratulations to Tom Hank's barber on this one!
