The movie was fair, if you are someone who has no previous investments in the Robert Langdon story. The movie was all wrong, if you have read the book. The ending was upsetting, and I'm very disappointed overall. I wish that I could have enjoyed this movie more, although I found myself upset with many points.

I read both books, loved both, da vinci code rated a 9, angels and demons rated a 10. The movie of DVC was a good adaptation of the book, had very high expectations for A&D. For the movie goer who is looking for an action movie this is great. The person who knows the story will be dissappointed. It had so much potential and fell short. Cutting scenes, not building the characters up, action is great but action without reason is not. The movie never explained how the Camerangelo poisened the Pope, oh who by the way was his FATHER. Only book knowers would know that. This movie had SO MUCH potential and fell very much short of what I had expected. Entertaining yet not fulfilling for me. Just leaves a bad taste in my mouth

let me start by saying i loved the movie. i saw it at midnight and when i got home couldnt sleep it was so good. great action and great story. The reason i gave 4 stars is because they changed it from the book. my advice to the movie goer is if you have read the book think of it a differnt story and if you havent go see it you will love it

I don't think that there is anything anti-God or ant- church or anti-Catholic in this film. There are also no real standout performances. I did, however, enjoy seeing Steve Kehala as a CNN reporter, TV actor Gino Conforti as Cardinal Pugini and Elya Baskin as Cardinal Petrov. If you have to use the restroom, wait until about 25 minutes have elapsed. You should have about 10 minutes of lull time before anything important happens. In it’s bit of heavy handedness, this film brings us a couple of excellent points for discussion. Science and religion are not mutually exclusive. Religion is imperfect because people are imperfect. I’m sure Mr. Brown’s soon-to-be-released novel will be made into the third Langdon film.

After waiting for this movie to be released for a couple of years at least, I figured it would be better. Initially, it felt somewhat rushed. Also, the inaccuracies and omissions were painful in places. The murdered scientist was Vittoria's FATHER in the book, not a research partner. And what about the real motive behind the Camerlengo's murder of the old pope? He learned he was tje pope's biological child, thought his "father" had broken his vow of chastity. As it turns out in the book, he was the result of artificial insemination. This is the most powerful indication that religion and science can coexist in the minds of those willing to advance...while some are simply unwilling to change.

Haven't read the book yet but amazing movie! I intend to read the book now for comparisons. A must see! 100x better than The Da Vinci code which was a big disappointment. Ewan McGregor's character definitely was my favorite. He played the part so well! Would not have been as good of a movie without him! Great cast of characters all around though and very interesting storyline. Can't wait to see this movie again! Even the (real) Vatican approves of it! lol. I am still amazed how this was all shot in LA since Ron Howard did not receive permits from the Vatican to shoot there.

I saw the 12:01 showing Thursday night. I wait a year to see this movie. Boy was I dissapointed. After reading Da Vinci Code and seeing the movie, I thought Ron Howard would have paid Dan Brown justice and kept to the book in Angels & Demons. Not even close!
Pivital characters were completly eliminated. The "media" elment was completely eliminated. With all the special effects, could they not have incorporated the cool Mach 15 jet. That would have been fun. It seems as though they took the "idea" for the story and complety changed it 100%. I didn't even think the casting was good.
If you never read the book, it's a great Hollywood flick. If you read the book, and expect THAT story, forget it.

The only good thing about this movie was the sites of Roma, but that was it and that was too brief.

I thought the movie was absolutely amazing! There are a few differences from the book, primarily in the beginning and also the end, but otherwise follows it very closely. The only part of the movie that was a little disappointing is that most of the main scenes supposed to be in St. Peters, St. Peters Square, Pantheon, etc... all are computer generated. Overall the movie was great and I would recommend it!
NOTE: I think the movie is a bit graphic, especially the killings. I was quite surprised to find out it was only PG13 and not R.

Transforming a book from print to the big screen is a major untertaking. Sometimes it works and other times not so much. In my opinion, for Angels & Demons it helps if you did not read the book. You would probably not have the expectations (as I did) for something greater. That said, I think that for what it was (a Hollywood blockbuster) it succeeds.
Ewan McGregor lacks the charisma I expected from this role and Tom Hanks straddled the fence between intelligent professor and smart aleck, "I'm way smarter than you".
Good for what it was, check it out and judge for yourself.

Very well done followed the book about as close as most Hollywood movies. Still not sure I like Hanks in the roll of Robert Langdon. Although he is a great actor for those of us who read the book we were looking for more of a Harrison Ford type. Rest of the casting was very well done the tale is believable. Light crowd in the theatre for the midnight showing hope the church is not deterring people from seeing this well made film.

If I come across anyone else who rates this movie so poorly and the Davinic Code one so highly like Peanut42 has I will be highly suprised. After reviewing hundreads of review on various sites I believe Peanut42 is in a group all by there self; a group that believes the Davinic Code (which most people were highly dissapointed by) is far superior to Angels & Demons, a movie that so far I have yet to hear from anyone who saw it that they didn't like it.

The movie is still up in the air for me as there were several drastic changes from the book that distracted my ability to enjoy the movie.
