This was a good movie, not a great one. I'm glad I saw it, but would not see it again. It was a liitle campy for my taste, and the underlying theory about the threat to the Vatican was not believable. The film was basically an action-thriller. It could have been so much more. What should have been central themes were left far in the background and not adequately developed. The science versus religion controversy and the Church's history of impeding science should have been probed more thoroughly. A few sentences quickly mentioning the subject here and there was not sufficient. I would have rather seen less action and more substance.

Though flashy enough to hold my interest, I could have waited for the DVD release. Characters that are integral to the book were completely left out of the story, causing the story to progress in a rushed fashion. In the first hour 3 out of 4 Cardinals had already been murdered and I was left wondering where the heart of the story went. The villain I had pictured in my head was a violent, hateful, sadist who derived pleasure from not only other people's pain, but his own also; this is not the case with the character in the movie. In fact he seems remorseful, doing only what he is called upon to do. Needless to say, I left the theater somewhat disappointed.

Being an avid reader, I awaited the release of this movie. I also had hunted Rome for all the sites when I was there! Very exciting - true to the story of the book - Tom Hanks (as always) delivers. Definitely worth seeing!

I never read a book as fast as I read Angels and Demons. The book was filled with excitement and details. I wish certain details were not ignored or changed. If I had not read the book i would have loved the movie but having read it I was just disappointed at what was left out.

I guess never reading the books, and being a humanities major you can appreciate all the jokes, all the art comments, all the different individuals that were mentioned in the movie. Sometimes you could loose interest cause the plot is dense, and it is often too hard to watch. Sure, its nothing like the book neither was the harry potter movies. But there was a good point in the movie, which was, Do you believe in God? and Was it God's purpose in sending Tom Hanks to save the church.

I love Tom Hanks and was very pleased with the Da Vinci Code. This time, it was very different from the book. Now I'm thinking whether if it would've been better not to have read it and I might have liked it much better. I guess I was expecting too much. If you've read the book and are hoping for the exact same story, you will be typically disappointed. But if you are ok with Hollywood tinkering to make the story work on the big screen you'll enjoy the movie. There was good action and acting. Having read the book I understood already some of the things you usually have to "figure out" during a movie, and I could see that not having read the book might leave some confused about certain events. But in the end the story develops sufficiently to keep you excited and with enough clarity so that you understand what you need to. Thumbs up.

I read the book almost 3 years back and when I saw the movie, it was all coming back to me. I think the movie was very racy, well edited and way better than the Da Vinci Code. I was pleasantly surprised by the way it was adapted given that I did not like the movie Da Vinci code.

This film is considered to be a sequel to "The Da Vinci Code." It's not your typical summer blockbuster movie for at least a suspense thriller. But this is kind of movie that will keep you guessing until the very end. There are plot points and twists. Tom Hanks is at it's own best; because three years ago when "The Da Vinci Code" came out into the theatres at the same point, no one would expect that this movie would be a big blockbuster hit in all around the world. Despite all the controversy, especially in Rome; and of course, all of this movie was shot mainly on location in that place. I hope the audience will be compelled when they see this movie.

Having read the book I was, as always, disappointed. I loved the book but it's too hard to get it all into a movie. I like Tom Hanks and Ron Howard and the movie my have been fine had I not read the book. It was hyped as being "better than the Da Vinci Code" but I don't think it was. I was also a little disappointed that they tamed things down for the church....but thats another story.

I waited so long to see this film due to last year's writers' strike... and it was definitely worth the wait. I felt that this adaptation of A&D was far better than the DaVinci Code. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time and I had read the book... I knew what was coming.

Being a huge fan of Dan Brown, I of course read the book before going to see the movie and was extremely excited to see this film. In reality maybe I went in with too many expectations. The movie strayed so far from the book, the only real thing that came from the true Dan Brown story were a few major concepts.

Its like going to a mexican restaurant and getting bad chips and no salsa. I can understand that is an adaptation of Dan Brown's book but what I find abominable is deviating from the core story of the primordial elements. Heck, they made the italian charmelengo irish, Robert Langdon didn't flex his mental symbiology muscles and the gory scenes were anti climactic. The only thing that kept me from getting off my seat was Ewan McGregor ... Ron Howard/Tom Hanks combo needs to be taken off the menu.

Much of the actions from the book have been translated to the big screen. Unfortunately, the adjusted storyline failed to engage us the way the book did.
None of the individual characters were in much jeopardy so it was difficult to care.

Having read the book and seen the movie I can certainly tell that some involved with the movie or pushing idea might be voting on the site. It was a poorly developed and carried out film. Not like the book and just disappointing.

This movie is a lot of fun. It's a good who-dun-it and it's certainly action packed. The one fatal flaw in this whole story is the Anti-Matter. And what happens to it at the end. I'm sorry, but that part is just monstrously stupid. And an unnecessary distraction. Dan Brown messed up using that as the main "bad thing" in the book. It was just dumb.

Average movie and very predictable. Almost stupid. I think my rating of 2 was a bit tooo much!!! Of course it has an agenda in the end. "Oh, I was hoping the anti matter technology would not fall into the hands of the evil energy companies." Please go back to making movies worth a seeing and stop pushing your agendas at every stop. My list of actors and actresses I will not go see because of this is so long, I think by next year I wont' get to the movies at all anymore. Go Figure!!

Due to the fact that Angels and Demons is my favorite book, I expected a lot out of this movie... Unfotunately, too many important plot changes and omissions occurred for me to enjoy this movie as much as I could have. It IS entertaining, however, and tells a great story; it's just a different story than the one in the book.
