I thought the Da Vinci Code was alright, but a bit boring. This film was fast paced and well thought out (except for the final plot twist which doesn't stand up to logic). Very entertaining, good performances.

An exciting, well-made, well-acted Gothic thriller. Much better than The DaVinci Code. My wife had read the book & I had not. Both of us loved this movie and want to see it again in-theater. Ron Howard & Tom Hanks continue to orchestrate quality high-end cinema! Ewan McGregor gives his best on-screen performance to date. Kudos to all involved!

I was so excited to see this movie. I loved the book and really wanted Ron Howard to do this one right! He did NOT. The story was not even close to the book. The main characters were left out of the story and the movie felt rushed. They should have split the movie into thirds actaully tell the story as written. I was very disappointed when I left the movie. This is a 1 out of 5 stars.....

A long film but keeps you intrigued throughout the almost 2-1/2 hours. Has a similiar feel as the DaVinci Code with the racing against time pace of acion. Missing some of the plotline from the book but held together as an excellent film. I highly recommend it.

The book was changed so much that the suspence just wasn't there. The writers and director changed so much from the original book that it was hard to make sense of everything. The book's basic plot was followed - the Illuminati terrorizing the Vatican - but characters switching roles made it unbelieveable. Specific characters from the book were eliminated and their parts given to other people. Even the ultimate reason behind the terrorism was eleminated, so the plot did not make much sense. The Illuminati Diamond was even eleminated. Skip if you can and see it on DVD or Blu Ray. The Roman backdrop was great.

People always say to never expect a movie to be as good as a book, and I walked into the theater with that expectation. However, the removal of some critical plot elements really ruined this movie. Many important parts of the novel that allow you to actually understand the characters and why they act the way they do were removed, making it impossible to understand some parts without having read the book. The book is great, the movie - not so much.

Not what I expected... Come on, Ron Howard directed this. This is a long movie by today's standards at over 2 hours, but quite honestly it would have been an incredible film if given more time to run. There are so many characters that there just isn't enough time to for them develop or for the viewer to form an opinion about their true agendas; there are twists and turns that come in too rapid a succession - the instant you think you know who the bad guy is, you find out he isn't. So you wind up really just not caring - Instead of a "wow" your reaction will be more like an "oh". Hopefully director Ron Howard gives us a 3 hour version on dvd....

A simple beat the clock flick that just doesn't playout that well. Illuminati vs Vatican is the basic theme for most of the movie. Since it's pretty well established today that the new illuminati was a merger of the vatican and the banking elite in 1776, this movie seems odd if not over propagandish. Granted it's just a movie but the theme just doesn't seem to play well or make much sense. Not as powerful as Davinci code. Something about the luxurious surroundings that make the movie seem almost like an insule to our intelligence. As pure entertainments it's ok, but not what I had hoped for.

I loved this movie. It was very true to the book, which, when a movie is not - I am always very disappointed. All the actors were amazing and the thriller & action scenes were excellent and not contrived or excessive. It was easy to get caught up in the hurry to get to the next destination to find the next clue. I read the book about two years ago and remembered a lot, but, believe it or not, forgot the 'who did it'; so it was great to be surprised along with everyone else!

I wondered in the movie if a person who read the book in advance would enjoy the surprises as much as one who didn't, like me. The movie is intelligent, humorous, surprising, engrossing and fun.
Only a few plot point quibbles. I think the timing of certain events dove-tailed too exactly. I also felt they shouldn't have considered bending the rules on choosing the Pope, as much as they seemed to be doing.

First I will say that I did read the book. I enjoyed the book more just because it had more details, but I also loved the movie. I do feel that they took out alot of details so that it wouldn't overwelm the common movie goer which the Davinci Code did for some audiences (I loved this movie also). But Angel and Demons is entertaining....worth my money.

I absolutely loved the movie. I was disappointed that they decided to leave out some important things from the book, especially since Dan Brown helped plan out the movie, but then again that always seems to happen. But whether you read the book or not, this movie is definitely worth seeing; it keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole way through.

I read the book, my daughter did not, so I could fill her in on a few points during the movie, but didnt give away the ending. I think she enjoyed it more than I did, but only cause of some parts left out from the book. I was not disappointed by any means. Would see it again.

I read both Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons. I thought Da Vinci code, the book, was great, and I thought the movie was just as great. I thought that movie followed the book well. I was disappointed after reading Angels and Demons. I didn't feel any action or deliberation. Langdon just seemed to figure everything out. But I liked the last few chapters where they explained everything. The movie did not follow the book at all. They left alot of important things out. I couldn't enjoy the movie because I just kept saying "They left out..." and "it didn't happen that way in the book" I'm surpised Dan Brown let them change his book so much!
No, I do not recommend this movie.
