Be sure to check your sense of reason and reality at the door; unlike the DaVinci Code, this installment is no where near being as believable and plausible, still the ride is fun, with intrigue and action from the first few moments going through the end of the film with the predictable 3rd-act twist.
As usual, Tom Hanks chews the scenery and make no secret that he wants the cameras focusing on him, and only him during most of the film. No doubt he would have preferred having a steady shot of him during the entire film, but that pesky story line gets in the way.
Check it out if you have nothing else better to do.

I read this book some time ago, and was surprised that it came back to me while watching the film. It was very fast paced, suspenseful, and didn't allow you to lose interest. No movie is ever as good as the book, but this one was as close to the story as it gets. It was entertaining.

I have to admit, once I got past the fact that this is a different story all together, the movie was pretty good. Coming off the heels of reading the book, I was frustrated with the movie's story line. Fortunately they kept the same most basic principles, but so much more could have been done. If you are in love with the book, my suggestion is to wait for the DVD.

My expectations are always high for a movie that is based on a very good book so I may be a bit biased, however, I found the pace only a tad quicker than the earlier Davinci Code. Not enough about the Illuminati and their persecution which is probably due to Howard not wanting to attack the Church. Ewan McGregor is always excellent in whatever role he portrays and is the one redeeming quality here. Hanks has become very tired for me as he seems to be the same guy in almost every film.

I saw the movie with someone who had read both books (& I had not) - - and both of us were impressed. She said it was very true to the book but condensed. I thought each scene built the suspense and kept things moving. The Vatican aura and the secretive element kept you guessing. Overall, we were both very pleased.

I loved the Da Vinci Code and was extremely skeptical of Angels and Demons. I considered it just another capitalistic Hollywood venture with little hope of solid value. I had read The DaVinci Code when I saw that movie and there were several unbelievable; but enjoyable spots. I hadn't read this book yet and enjoyed the movie from beginning to end. It has several twists in the plot and was predictable in a few spots but it didn't lesson the enjoyment of the movie. I did not read the book so had no idea of the story line. I truly enjoyed the movie, the acting and, in particularly, the Rome architecture. I could not tell what was CG and what was actual location shoots. There is a bit of detailed violence so beware if this is something that is a concern for you. My attention was held throughout and the movie was easy to follow. The ending was not a surprise to me as I had figured it out earlier but still was well done. I would highly recommend the movie.

From the start of this movie we're on a race against time. This can be a good mechanism when you're trying to jam a whole bunch of information into a movie from a very popular book, but for me it was almost too much. I wanted them to stop more and allow me to process what I'd just seen before they moved on. That didn't happen very often. I didn't read the books so I can't speak to the comment I've heard that Tom Hanks was wrong for the role. I'm grateful Ron Howard was at the wheel of this 'out of control' bus though, he did a very good job of getting through it.
