i thought this movie was horrible. every single part of the book that was interesting was left out. key characters were completely disregarded. perhaps if i hadnt read and enjoyed the book this movie might have been mildly entertaining. however, i did and it wasnt. this movie is a blazing reminder of why people download movies. why waste 50$ on something mediocre when you can spend 10min finding it online and just walk away when it sucks.

just as with DaVinci Code, Tom Hanks is horribly miscast as the Harvard symbologist, Robert Landgon to the point of being annoying and unwatchable. the movie looked great - production design, costume design, locations, and action sequences, so perhaps it is worth going to see for those elements alone, but it is definitely a better read than a movie. Ron Howard seems to love that circular camera move (I don't know the technical term) and he uses it to the point of making one aware of it, which to me is a distraction. also, sadly, Hans Zimmer's score is bit overbearing and forgettable (and he is one of my favorite film composers).

An OK entertaining film but I found this one a bit disappointing. They took many liberties from the book and left out what could have been some real wow scenes. I’m thinking the reason for this is it may have come off as more of a Sci FI movie than a thriller but I none the less missed those scenes. Good performances by all Ok popcorn movie. Not the Da Vinci code but they did stay close to the solving of the puzzle in the book. Hate that they make it a sequel to DC as it happened before in the books so there are new scenes altogether to justify that. If ya read the book you may not like this one or should wait for the DVD and save you money for many other summer hits coming but if your interested in being solidly entertained go for it.

its been a few years since i read the book but the movie didnt disappoint me. it left me questioning and wondering what was going to happen next. the only thing that made the movie a bit unreal was the (**spoiler**) antimatter and the helicopter. i was very satisfied with the movie, however.

I enjoyed The Divinci Code a lot. I thought that Angels & Demons was 100 x better! It kept me on the edge of my seat, it was action packed, and exciting. There were many twists and turns and 8 mini-climaxes throughout the movie to keep the audience entertained. There is a wonderful soundtrack as well.

The title should give you a clue, but it loses a lot in translation to film. The whole point of Angels & Demons was to explore the duplicity of science & religion, piety vs humanity, discovery & destruction, good & evil coexisting simultaneously. If Robert Langdon were not a pivotal character already, you wouldn't need him to tell you that this story is a symbologist’s dream. However, the complicated levels of relationships that are not present in the movie weaken the story line and undermine the very foundation of the events that make the title so revealing. Another level is lost without more reference to the duplicitous architectural elements of the Roman landmarks that lend so much weight to the backstory.

I thought the movie was good. Yes, I read the book (although it's been a while) and the movie didn't capture every detail but really, how could it? Maybe some more background information would have been helpful but would have been Tom Hanks receiting religious history for 2 hours. I thought the ending was an improvement over the book, actually.
Even if you haven't read the book, it's an entertaining action movie that moves along quickly and makes for a good night out.

My wife and I do not go to too many movies because they are usually not worth the price of admission. We chose to see this one because of the reputations of Ron Howard and Tom Hanks as well as our experience with The Davinci Code. Well, we were not dissapointed! This is a great movie! The acting is terrific and the action and suspense keeps you interested throughout. The history and scenery of Vatican City in this movie were fantastic and the plot twists keep you guessing and hold your interest. We would surely reccomend this movie.

The other reviews that I read before seeing the movie talk about it not standing up to the book version. They all said read the book and skip the movie. Well, I didn't read the book and found the movie quite entertaining, at times rivoting, and action packed. It is a long movie but it doesn't have any "slow spots". My wife and I really enjoyed this move. It was excellently directed and the acting was perfect. My wife had read the book while I only saw the movie yet we were both in agreement that we would definitely recommend this movie to all our friends and family. A must see....

I didn't read the book but I the movie was entertaining. Compared to the Da Vinci Code, the plot lack complexity and depth but still it had its moments. I enjoyed watching the movie and the cast. Tom Hanks, Stellan Skarsgard (the Swiss Commander) and Armin Muller (Cardinal Strauss) had a superb performance. Ewan McGregor and Vitoria Vetra (the girl) failed to be at that level. Over all, I think you will enjoy watching this movie.

Just like most of the summer movies, this is fun and non-thought provoking. It is not anywhere as good as the book and I personally do NOT like Tom Hanks. If you saw the first one and liked it you will probably like this one.
