The storyline was awesome. I had read the book after Da Vinci Code and just re-read it before the movie. While the stories are slightly different, the changes enhance the movie. Very well acted, lots of twists and turns, action sequences were excellent. I will see this again at the theatre and buy the DVD. Don't wait, see it now.

I use the word "blurry" in combination with entertaining because the movie was so fast paced with so many subtle clues being given out during the race that some of the puzzle-solving whodunnit mentality just leaks away. I like Tom Hanks and I would probably watch him just sit around babbling because he is one of the most talented actors. He carried the movie with his portrayal of Langdon while the others (with the possible exception of Ewan McGregor) seemed only to work as convenient plot devices.
For fans of Da Vinci Code or general bashing of the Catholic church, some joy will come from the philosophical issues that are explored including the role of dogma, tradition over modernism, and science as the antithesis of religion.

I had read the book and anxiously awaited the film. It didn't disappoint. It follows the book pretty closely and I loved the action scenes. I think it proves more interesting if you have been to or know the layout of Rome. It's a puzzle waiting to be solved.

Good movie and I read the book. Glad they dropped out the idiotic scene from the book where the protagonist jumps from the helicopter holding a tablecloth and lives. Also, I have a problem with the "cover story" issued by the Vatican on the death of the three Cardinals. Why were three of the front runners for pope were said to have died in the fire in the church? Then, the questions arise from the cover story as to why were three of the front runners in a church during conclave and not in the conclave? How did they get out? Otherwise, the movie did a very good job condensing the book and making the story more logical.

Yes the movie carries on forever and yes it does divert from the read a bit BUT you must keep in mind the reason as to WHY you went to see the film in the first place, and that's to see a good MOVIE. And that is what Ron Howard along with Tom Hanks has delivered. Though it does not match the book chapter for chapter it did totally catch the essence. Great movie, great actors and it was totally worth the 2 hours you will spend. Here's my prob, I like these movies, and I like to be included in the hunt. But the clues are obscure and they don't give you any time to think yourself, so for about half the film you follow Tom Hanks around while he quickly talks to himself, figures it out, and moves on. This also means you know already he's gonna keep figuring the path out until the showdown where the Vatican will be saved. The twists come after the victory- which are good, but not enough, in my opinion, to be a great movie.

Angels and Demons was extremely complex and entertaining. There were many moments I was on the edge of my seat. However, the storyline differs greatly from the book, so true fans of the book may experience some disappointment. I had not read the book recently and forgot many details, so it did not bother me too much. But if you are looking for a movie that parallels the book, you will be surprised by the changes. I suggest you not wear a watch to this film as you will be so frustrated that you can't see the time and then you won't know how much longer you need to sit there! I loved the whole series of books by this author, but the movie: NOT so much! Although the acting is fine, (has Tom Hanks ever made a bad movie?) the movie is slow, plodding, fairly predictable and if you HAVE read the book, don't even see the movie. Let the images and excitement of the written page stay with you rather than having to slog through a long movie that has none of the excitement, anticipation, intrigue or visual effects that you have imagined while reading. I read the Angels & Demons book a long time ago when it first came out and Dan Brown is an amazing writer. When I heard the movie was coming out in May, I decided to re-read the book. The movie diverted from the book in many instances, so I honestly wish I hadn't re-read the book so recently, as I feel I would not have remembered a lot of the key details and would not have been distracted by the diversions in the story line as much. Overall the movie was very good, Tom Hanks is an amazing actor and I will definitely buy the movie when it comes out on DVD.

First off, I did NOT read the book. Second, I did see the first movie. With that said, let me say I thought the movie moved quite briskly. Acting was good. Action was quite intense. Suspense was there, and thick! Twists and turns, and not as bad a condemnation of the Catholic Church as Code was. Will definately be buying this on DVD when it comes out. We really liked 'The Da Vinci Code', but we really LOVED Angels & Demons. Outstandingly (is that a word?) well done movie. Kept us on edge the entire time. My wife, who's a heavy duty skeptic, wants to see it again (she never does) to catch anything she might have missed the first time! I certainly would join her in that rerun.....normally we would wait for the DVD to come out.

Angels and Demons was a much better book, but I was convinced it would have to be an abridged version of the book, but I did not expect the abridged version to change the story line. At the very beginning of the film, I realized it was a movie adaption of the book that was an exciting, fast moving film, filled with suspense, intrigue, and focused more on Hank's character. It clearly did not take shots at the church, nor did it focus on the dark elements of the Illuninati, but it kept the film moving with little delays in the action. This could go down as one of the better films of the summer. It is safe for Christians to see.

I'm usually skeptical when a great book is re-written for screen, but in this case we were very pleased! My husband and I were both let down at the end of the book with what we thought was a "Hollywood ending." As it turns out the Hollywood movie left out the Hollywood ending which was a HUGE improvement! Kudos to the screen writer! It was exciting and very entertaining and well worthy of 2.5 hoiurs!

Awesome movie. The 2 hr + was over in no time. Very good movie, better than the book and keeps you on the edge of your seat at times. If you dont know the story, you wont figure out the ending till it happens.

You will not be disappointed. Tom Hanks delivers again as professor Langdon. A well reconstructed story fits as a sequel to The DaVinci Code movie! Ewan McGregor and Ayelet Zurer also delivered excellent performances! A great time at the movies!
