This was a good book, and a better movie. Ron Howard does a nice job of dancing right up to the issue of faith and then lets the dialogue drop, leaving the audience to finish the conversation. It is more intellectual than the Da Vinci Code was, which is a point in its favor. My wife is a brilliant linguist so the symbology part was near to my heart. I rather liked the way Howard captured the pagentry & traditions of Catholicism as well. All of the costumes were authentic and very colorful. The politics of the vatican seemed to be done fairly as well. The one line from the movie that rang with the truth was, "Be careful, these are men of God." Ron Howard & Tom Hanks hit another one out of the park!

The movie was long, and the first part was boring and slow. It did move along after an hour though. The story's plot was OK but it should have been shaved by an hour. I almost fell asleep. The first movie in the series was better. Wait till it comes out on Blu Ray or DVD.

If you enjoyed the Da Vinci code, you will likely enjoy this. It was a little far fetched, being able to solve everything in such a short amount of time. There was an element of surprise, and a somewhat unexpected plot twist (we had it figured out- but it was still surprising). It's one of those movies that you have to pay attention to in order to keep up.

As with most movies based on books there is always something that gets changed or left out. The movie didn't follow the book exactly but was well worth spending the extra money to see it on the big screen versus at home on my TV. Great visuals and views of Vatican and Rome!

I just saw the movie today so i'm alittle behind on this one. Tom Hanks pulled out some great acting in this thriller. Now people think that is going to be like National Treasure. You are wrong its different but similar at the same time. I recommend this movie to any body that loves thrillers.

Based on the novel that preceded "The DaVinci Code", this movie was a pretty good suspenser. It was much more gripping than TDC, which bored me to tears. Once again Tom Hanks is a Harvard symbologist (what?!), who is recruited by the Vatican to help fix an emergency. The pope has died, the cardinals are about to start voting on a replacement, and the Vatican is facing a horrific bomb threat. Just as with the book, the ending is so implausible as to make you grimace, but up till then it is a pretty good suspenser.

This was a good movie, not as good as the book, but good none the less. If you have read the book, like most book to movie titles, you may not like it. If the movie is the first, I highly recommend the book, it touches on things that the movie doesn't even hint on.

The DaVinci Code was the first Dan Brown book I read. The movie was a big disappontment, very choppy and disjointed. I enjoyed the book Angels and Demons much more than DaVinci Code. I wasn't expecting much given the first movie but WOW ... I was blown away. The changes to the book were reasonable to move it along. It would have been IMPOSSIBLE to fit that book's detail into 2.5 hours. GREAT JOB by Ron Howard ... he clearly learned from his DaVinci mistakes. Remember, in most cases with detailed mystery/suspense stories, THE BOOK IS ALWAYS BETTER THAN THE MOVIE !! (unless of course you have Hitchcock as director!)

I rated this with 4 stars although it is drastically different than the book, but what movie isn't? Tom Hanks and Ron Howard pulled together again to produce a gripping movie. While I enjoyed this reinterpretation of the Dan Brown story, I was shocked by the major changes in the plot and characters. Several of the main characters were omitted and the plot changed sufficiently to cause me to be audibly shocked at it's presentation. If you've read the novel, you will be dismayed by the artistic license taken in Mr. Howards take on this story.

This is a good movie and I have never read the book. It had plenty of suspense, lots of suspicious characters, the researcher is nice eye candy, and it has a surprising twist at the end. I thought I had initially picked up on this final twist shortly before it developed but they sold me that I was thinking wrongly. in the end though, my suspicions were right in the first place.

While I enjoyed reading all of Dan Brown's books, Angels and Demons proved to me once again that his ficton translates to screen play quite well. Tom Hanks was superb in his reprise of the role, but then Hanks doen't do junk. Fantastic edge of your seat thriller, I'd recommend this movie to fans of Dan Brown and Tom Hanks, as well as fans of the genre.

As a Hanks fan of course I will enjoy it. Do I think it was as good as his first one in character, not quite. Not by any fault of his by any means, I just felt the drama was not as spellbinding as the first. Characters did keep you in suspense who was good and who was bad. But alot of the "kill off" scenes lacked time to feel the impact. But overall it was ok, and yes I would recommend it because it was Tom Hanks of course.

I read the book but didn't remember the details which made this movie even better.
It is a great story and great action to follow. Tom Hanks is incredible as Robert Langdon. I am Jewish and I found the whole story very fascinating. I loved the Da Vinci Code and loved Angels and Demons even more.

Okay movie, very predictable, even the "surprise" ending--and I had not read the book. Also, too long! All three in our viewing party agreed and both of the ladies had read the book! I worry that Ron Howard has lost the director's "touch" that made movies like "Apollo 13" so great.

This was another really good movie. The plot continues to thicken and there is a surprise ending. Tom Hanks was fantastic in this. If you like a good plot, you will love this.

It was a good movie to watch about ten times and then suspense is gone. Its good but not as futuristic as the book. It was gory so before you see it, like I did with this, and if your a kid ask your mommy and daddy. I reccomend it for about half of the people in the world
