The movie was good and well acted, but I did enjoy the Da Vinci Code more, it was more exciting figuring out the codes e.g. "the con of man.' The Da Vinci Code was more powerful and moving and, in my opinion, twice as good as Angels & Demons. I was a bit disappointed. I would, however, still recommend it, it is still a good movie, but it lacked the excitement of the first movie.

This is the better part of the two films. Hanks and McGregor are always good. Very dense and exposition filled first 40 minutes, which is a dead bore; but, film picks up and ends up being fairly good. Surprisingly not terribly down on the Catholic church and its dogma.

I loved this movie. This film differed a bit from the book . I think the film's storyline was much tighter than the book and the plot flowed a little better. Ron Howard did a great job. The film was action packed and I was not bored for one second.

I was anticipating much more from this film after reading the book. The adaptations at the beginning of the film didn't work and did not set up the romantic interest between the doctor and symbologist. Too many long interludes of exposition and car chases were boring. Also, there was not enough story involving the commitment of the Illuminati bad guy, so the danger was not believable. I hoped for a thriller but got a dud... too bad.

The movie was long but kept my attention the entire time. It was packed full of suspense and was very exciting. I had read the book some time ago so didn't initially remember everything but as the movie evolved, it came back to me and it tended to follow most of the book's story line. The ending, however, did surprise me since I had forgotten who the culprit really was and, also, who became Pope. That did change from the book. I still loved it and would watch it again.

Disappointing. Should have gone with my initial thought to walk out within the first 15 minutes. Everything was contrite and spoon fed to the audience leaving them with nothing to try and figure out on their own. Unless you count the one character twist which was easily determined within the first 20 mins. Sorry Opie...this was a thumbs down for us.

When I read the book, I told my son that the ending would make a terrific movie...and it did! The movie varied a bit from the book however this didn't bother me very much. I loved Tom Hanks' sense of humor in this one more than DaVinci Code. Thought Ron Howard did a great job making this movie with no access to the Vatican, Rome or outside shots of churches. Very believable and entertaining!

My son's girlfriend wanted to see the movie, so did I. The guys went along just to be with us as they did not think they would like the movie. They both said it was a really good movie! We all enjoyed it and although I had read the book a while back, I was still surprised by much of the movie, especially the end. The actors did an outstanding job and it was a well done production. Perfect "summer" movie, however, but fell short of the "The Da Vinci Code". Great action, but quite unemotional acting by both Hanks & Zurer; why? So so many ' moments too late' for rescue scenes. Could have done without the graphic violence imposed on the preferiti; our imaginations can fill it in. Loved the Italian police, Swiss guard, etc interactions. Worth seeing for the historic Roman settings and pseudo-intimacy of the Vatican. Wonder what all the alternative endings were; that would be fascinating on the DVD!

There are several scenes outside the realm of possibility. The movie eliminated the presence of the news anchor which I think humanized the story. They also removed the fact that the Carmelengo is the biological son of the deceased pope. As a final departure from the book is the rescue of the final kidnapped bishop. The other noticeable negative is the cinematography. It really looks like they strapped a camera to someone and told them to run through the streets of Rome. Most scenes are not in sharp focus and hard to watch. The movie is entertaining and I would recommend it for the casual viewer. Just don't expect the detailed and exciting story the book offers.

This was a fantastic movie. I read the Divinci Code and Angels and Demons and saw both films. The movie was very captivating until the final scene. Loved it!

I loved this movie....it's a little long but you don't feel it because you are so wrapped up in the story. Great story...I love how throughout the action, Tom Hanks gives a history lesson. So you learn while you are having fun thru those tidbits of information. I also love how this film treats religion...gently.

Really more of a 3 1/2 star movie...they drastically altered the book, completely changing the ending and several other parts too. I would probably be more adamantly opposed to this but I only vaguely recall the book from when I read it 4 years ago.
A little bit confusing at times though...it is hard to follow in the middle as Tom Hanks jumps frantically to conclusions.
Overall, enjoyable, but a bit too baffling at parts to be great. I would recommend "Duplicity" if you are looking for a complex thriller that really delivers.

Bad science, slow storytelling and a lack of the fun stuff that made Da Vinci Code interesting apply here. No symbols all brough together to make the impact visually, and the script is bad - political pandering with a lack of any guts. I say this, who cares how it turns out? I want my money back.
