A good movie, while I haven't read the book, from what I've gleaned off of others whom have, it stays relatively true. Granted, like all movie adaptations there are things that just aren't here, but they didn't seem to detract, and thankfully there was very little left unexplained or just picked up half way along.

Really good movie with great acting. The settings in Rome are very captivating with regard to the city, the art work, sculptures, buildings. Just seeing the scenes that were inside the Vatican and the Vatican archives were very impressive and powerful images which created plausibility and realism.The plot was really good but predictable but that was fine since you were given an understanding at the beginning of the movie and the details weren't revealed. Tom Hanks was great as usual and so were the supporting actors/actresses. Good movie with a great plot.

Viva Roma...Fast paced action and thrilling. The story is complex and intrguing, but upon further reflection the following morning it was more than apparant the plot assumption at the end was hard to swallow - which given the fast pace of the film wasn't immediately clear. But chalk that up to the pulp fiction of the author - the film is fun and has excellent cinematography.

This movie was great. It was action and mystery all rolled up into one. Tom Hanks still doesn't seem to fix the picture of the professor who is passionate about symbols, but he did a good job. If my professor received a book from the Vatican he would have jumped for joy and the geek and nerd in him would have came out.

The movie was exciting and well directed. The acting helped create a sense of suspense while keeping it realistic. This keeps the audience from focusing on how far fetched the plot really is. The changes from the book were well done and made for a better visual ending. They also cut down on some of the even more unbelievable parts of the plot. The director and screenwriters did a good job explaining the history while moving the story along. A must see and a must buy when it is out on video.

It was a great movie - if you have read the book you will notice it is a bit different. But great job. A little fast - there is alot to cover - the book gave you a bit more time to process it all.

The audio was difficult to hear at times while the music was playing too loudly and competed with the softer inflections and dialogue of the actors. The movie relies a lot on verbal explanations of what's happening, so this was a little frustrating at times for me and my wife. Other than that, it was a great movie.

My wife and I have read both of Brown's books made to film. The DeVince Code dragged and lacked the character details that made the book "non-stop" reading. Same goes for the Angels and Demons movie.
I suggest that you read the book before you see the film. It will help fill in the missing pieces. Loved the action and Tom Hanks. Never got connected with the female lead, what's her name.
The ending is a nice twist. The tension of electing a new Pope was intriguing.

Sadly, Ron Howard really missed the mark with this movie. Although the book was not in any danger of winning literary awards, it was engaging, spellbinding, and entertaining, in a Dan Brown sort of way. Ron Howard chose to take the elements from the book that were most sensationalistic and cram them into the 2 hr 20 minute timeframe, which creates a movie that is choppy and filled with holes. If you have not read the book, you are left with unnecessary questions. Overall, this movie falls far short of its potential. It felt very forced, the characters were not developed well, and really missed the mark.

My boyfriend and I didn't read either of the books, only a brief synopsis of "Angels & Demons." We are devout catholics and thought it would be interesting to see what this was all about so we went to see it yesterday. The movie theater we went to is absolutely beautiful so any movie seen there is great, but this movie was fantastic. We were worried it would be anti-Catholicism, but it wasn't at all. It was historically accurate, not at all insulting or pretentious. It was thrilling and suspenseful, I laughed and I cried and it was a wonderful experience. Great Movie, I was very happy to watch it.

For diehard fans of the book it's just not as enticing. It was very well done given the Catholic church's protests so much of it has been "tamed" down. The final scene is changed a bit but overall the movie was enjoyable. I still can't understand casting Tom Hanks in this role as to be honest he's just too old for the character. The Camerlengo does a great job but seems too self-serving compared to the book.

While this movie was graphic, it may be said that the "gross" scenes were treated with tremendous care. There was no doubt as to the message, but ALL was not displayed to the eye. Tom Hanks was ... well ... TOM HANKS ... so profoundly professional and true-to-character. Ewan McGregor alone would have been worth the watching. And, of course, the music by Hans Zimmer and an EXTRAORDINARY violinist so ably set the scenes in emotion. Great show.

I re-read this book just recently and thought how great it would be to watch all these magnificent scenes come to life on the big screen. I was not disappointed.
The funny thing is, I was also not disappointed in how very differently the final portion of the story is portrayed in the film. The story line is vastly different toward the climax of the film and it's remarkable how this did not bother me as a prior reader one bit. The main story is intact, and the action is high paced. I would have liked it more if the historical details were not so quickly glossed over though.
For those who have read the book - and those who have not - it's definitely worth seeing the film.

I thought the movie was really good. I read both books (Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons) and was VERY disappointed in the Da Vinci Code movie. I think that story just had wayyy too much information to include in a movie. Angels & Demons on the other hand was much more action packed and fun to watch. Although, I do love Vanilla Bean flavor when it comes to ice cream, I prefer my movies not to be so. As usual, the coupling of Ron Howard and Tom Hanks makes for a very bland adaptation of an otherwise stellar action-packed book. For those fans who have read both 'Da Vinci Code' and 'Angels & Demons', I'm sure most of them will leave the theater appreciating the intricate plot lines, well defined characters, incredible pacing, and shocking plot twists of the book even more after the movie falls flat on trying to deliver the awesome pull that these books had on their readers. The movie is too literal, and we don't know enough about the characters to really care what their motivations are too.

Superior entertainment! This is one of the best action/suspense movies that my wife and I have seen in a long time. Smart, fast-paced, yet very human without relying on the action scenes to support the film. The cinematography, characters, acting and all other aspects of the film were simply outstanding. I can't really say anything negative unless I do some serious nitpicking ... which I won't. Go see this movie on the big screen! Well worth your time and money.

I didn't get to read the book yet and I could follow the movie without reading it. I thought it was better than the DaVinci Code and would recommend it to people who didn't read the book.

I loved this movie even with earthquake and all I couldnt bring myself to leave the theatre. I was so shocked by the ending. I did not read the book so I had no idea what was going on . Some of th eearly shots and use of the camera were stunning. I dont want to spoil anything so this must be seen in a theatre not at Home. It was great!
