it was by far one of hollywoods crapiest rapings of a amazing book. not only did they change characters from the book to fit the movie but they changed the entire meaning of the movie be leaving key plot points out. don't bother waiting to rent this movie. just completely forget it was ever made.

This is a long movie, but with the story and the pace, it seemed to be much shorter since it pulled you in early and kept you interested. I found it helpful to have read the book before I saw it ... it made it easier to follow exactly what was going on and why. Overall, I found it to be a very enjoyable movie with excellent photography and good historical background.

This was by far the best movie i've seen this year, it has a high level of special effects and unbelievable landscapes since it takes place in one of my favorite places on earth ROME! yeah Baby ! The plot is smart and not predictable like a lot of other films out there where you can guess exactly where the movie is going and of course that kills any excitement for you as a viewer. A & D's even hits you with an unexpected twist at the end, turning someone who you thought would be the hero in the movie, into the bad guy. I don't want to give away more than that at this time just want to close with a major thumbs up for Ron Howard and a great cast with a well executed script.

I have been a Dan Brown fan for a long time. The movie took the best of Brown's work and presented a wonderful and powerful rendition of the book. Tom Hanks always is a plus and he was excellent in his role. The casting was also done with the excellence of Ron Howard who continues to have the ability to turn all his works into Gold. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and would recommend it to anyone who has interests in learning about secret societies and the wonder of the great scientists of the world.

If I had to compare the two, I liked DaVinci better. However, as an action flick, this was very good and very well written. I didn't go into quite as much detail into the "history" of the church as The DaVinci Code, which was a bit disappointing. However, the story did keep you engaged and it was quite enjoyable. Dan Brown fans will be pleased.

You should read the book first in order to understand what is going on in the film. At the same time, reading the book first shows you just how many amazing and crucial details the film left out which made the novel so riveting. You really felt the length of this movie as well.

I found the movie very entertaining. But, I have to agree with other reviewers on a number of issue with the changes between the book and the movie. (Spoilers ahead.) I didn't like the removal of the romantic interest between the Vittoria and Robert. I think they left out the scene of the Camerlengo breaking into the proceedings in the Sistine Chapel without the press behind him was ill-advised as well.
On the other hand, I'm very glad they left out the scene of Robert falling from the helicopter holding a "sheet" to slow his fall. That was a bit absurd. I also found some of the foolish reactions from the clerics in the book ill-conceived as well.

I was disappointed from the first minutes of the movie. Having read the book, I don't understand why it was necessary to eliminate the killing of Vittoria's father. *Spoiler Alert* I am a huge fan of Dan Brown and his books, so I was worried how this movie would turn out. I actually really liked it. I was glad that they mostly followed the story line. There were changes which kind of bummed me out, but I understand that it is impossible to get everything from the book into a movie. I was sad that they didn't keep the romance between Robert and Vittoria. Also that they removed a main character from CERN. I think the only thing I really disliked was that they didn't talk more about the Camerlengo's background and how he was born. It made it almost ironic in the book how he was created because of science! But all in all I really liked the movie and would for sure see it again!

though sometimes tough to understand the heavy Italian accents, and although I read the book a long time ago, it was excellent. The first hour's a little slow, but the second hour makes up for it. And it's a reminder, symbols can be found in everything. And it was nice to see Rome again. My girlfriend even spotted her hotel!

I had read Dan Brown's "DaVinci Code" a few years ago, but nothing since then. Overall a good movie, and I'll leave it at that because I believe that the movie's negative points were places where the plot logic conflicted my with own good sense. I thought the movie was done very well and followed the book to the tee. Although I did read the book years ago, so perhaps I forgot a lot of the nuances and subplots, but I thought the movie really captured the essence of the story. I liked it better than DaVinci, this one moved much faster and Hanks was very believable.

For anyone who has read the book, the movie will not be as good. The movie diverts quite a bit from the details in the book and I'm not sure why. The plot in the book kept me turning the pages.

Face it the movie was alot 2 and a half hrs, to be 100% true to the book it would have been at least another hour and a half.... so some of the sub plots were left out, it happens, overall I think it lived up to 98% of the hype. Yes I thought the Da Vinci code ws better, but this would be a keeper in the library of movies at my house. Although I've read the book a couple of times I went back to double check the variance from the ending...
I think it was still worth the price of the ticket.

Loved the movie! It was fast and kept our eyes glued to the screen. A few years ago, I had gone to Rome and taken a tour of the sites mentioned in the movie which made watching the movie even more exciting! Tom Hanks did a great job!

Excellent movie. It kept me alert, interested and wondering what was going to happen next. It makes me want to study the history of this story. I want to also read the book. Tom Hanks is an wonderful actor and made this movie a very intense and fast pace event.
