Except for trying twice in the movie to make it seem that A&D takes place after DaVinci Code rather than taking place much earlier, the screenplay was well written. The end was weak. Development of the Camerlango's character was left out. Final scenes were too explosive and unnecessary. The book's plot was better. Tom Hanks was in great shape.

I was a huge fan of the Di Vinci Code and I had high hopes for Angels and Demons. I came away satisfied but disappointed. It was a good movie considering but it was also extremely far-fetched at the same time. I did not read the book so I cannot comment on the closeness of the plot lines. My understanding is that they weren't even close, though. I do almost always enjoy watching Tom Hanks he is very versitile. I think he was probably the saving grace to the film. Ron Howard did a wonderful job directing the film, but it did not live up to the expectations.

A great movie unless you read the book! The conflict was based on CERN recreating the Big Bang Theory, and possibly "debunking" creationism. The Director of CERN , a MAIN CHARACTER, is not in the movie! Big Bang got ONE sentence in the script. Why was The Pope was murdered? Because science changed his life. Gee, totally missing from the plot. So, if not for his love of science, why was he murdered? This turned into "Find the bomb before they kill four Cardinals..." Oh, wait, the plot got changed again. Just don't remove 60% of the plot line. It's like ordering a hot dog , but they decided you really don't need the meat. When wrapped up, the bun & condiments look the same...who'll know? I will...the guy that bought it.

Lots of action, suspense, twists & turns, great special effects and very nice camera work. I'd see it again. I did read the book before and it generally follows the same path although some of the changes were surprising. As usual, I thought the book was better and hard to put down, I realize it would have made a 4 hour movie. Ron Howard does a nice job pulling this all together, considering his limited access to the Vatican.

I was not expecting a great movie when my lady friend drug me to Angels & Deamons. Boy, was I wrong!
It had great action, excellent cinematography, and enough twists and turns to keep you glued to your seat for over two hours.
When you add the totally unexpected twist at the end of the movie to the show it ended up being one of the best movies of the year. I definitely recommend that you see this movie.
But buy the small Coke, the 44oz one took it's toll towards the end of the show.

I did read the book first and having said that I was wondering which movie I was watching. The movie ingeneral was very good, however so much of the background that was in the book was missing, relationships were even changed. SO much was made of what Vittoria was wearing in the book and in the movie it was a non issue. The ending was diferent as well from the book. I went with y daughter and she agreed it was a good movie but not what she was expecting either.

This thriller is well done and very informative about the Vatican and it's inner workings.Tempting to make one feel like you know who dunn it...it twist you often enough to throw you off guard. It really gets you into the scenes. Really enjoyed the movie and will probably see it again!

I enjoyed how the movie was faithfull to the book, but changed just enough to keep you engaged. I worked as a background extra last summer on this movie set and I was amazed at how they made the scenes flow together with actual footage from the REAL Vatican City. Ron Howard is an artistic director who captures the spirit of the story with drama and suspense. Well done.

First, let me say I am a fervent fan of Dan Brown's works. The plot line in the book was fabulous and mile-a-minute. The movie embraced the object of the original plot while shedding a few scenes to keep the movie streamlined and fast-paced. I loved how much of the city was featured in this movie - the cityscape, Bernini's statues, the Vatican - it was almost as good as being in Rome again! I highly recommend this movie not only for the artistic, scientific, religious, historical, and philosophical content, but for the acting, directing, and the terrific twists and turns that make this THE MUST SEE FILM OF 2009!!

My husband really enjoyed this movie and I liked it, too, but it it quite different than the book, so I found myself wondering why parts were left out. You will probably enjoy this more if you haven't read the book, but it's good entertainment either way.

I always say I love to have a HEALTHY debate about any subject, especially religion. In MY OPINION, who really knows what language the bible was originally written in. All we know is the versions that have been around in our families, communities, countries for how ever many years.....There's no need to get off into the rest :)
All I will say is the movie enlightened me on things I didn't know. The movie was very deep for me and I loved everyone in it. There were so many twists and turns and I had all of the "bad guys" wrong!!!!

This movie was the second from Ron Howard and Tom Hanks which is fictictious and the subject is the Catholic Church. It would be nice to see a true story done on the Catholic Church. I would like to recommend to them a true story movie from the book "The President, the Pope, and the Prime Minister" by John O'Sullivan. It is about how Reagan, Pope Paul II, and Thatcher worked together to bring down communism. Tom Hanks would make a great Reagan.

If you read the book, don't go see the movie. The book is highly enjoyable,couldn't wait for the movie to come out, was totally dissa- pointed!

A GREAT MOVIE. A must see. Better than I thought. I was afraid it would be gorey, but they only had a few gross scenes.
