beyond hallucinogenic,... i don't think it's really meant to be understood so much as it is meant to just be experienced. i really love this movie; it has changed my life. i agree with other reviewers that it's silly and not at all scary.

This is a funny movie! Some parts are sort of messed up. I guess you should be warned there is under-aged nudity in this film. I haven't seen the movies that this movie satirizes but the satirical aspects of this movie are funny none-the-less. There are a few gross out parts in this movie mostly having to do with severed body parts. There are many psychedelic effects in this film some of which are done quite well. It's built up very very nicely going from a harmless movie about nice teenage girls into a psychedelic/gross-out/weird movie. I loved it!

"House" is a wonderfully silly low budget movie from 1974. It is very funny, although it is not scary. any gore or violence is so cartoonish it can't scare, shock or disturb a viewer much, but it will make you giggle. It gets quite psychedelic at points, so it is visually very interesting from that perspective. The plot is a bit shaky in terms of coherence, but you won't really care much. The main characters are cute Japanese girls who don't seem like professional actors.
