We have seen this movie twice so far. My four year old loves this movie, and when you can get a four year old to sit through a movie twice- it is a great film!! It is entertaining for the adults as well. Very cute story. We will buy it on DVD when it comes out. Might be a bit scary for the under 5 crowd, but my almost 5 yr old was okay with it.

"How To Train Your Dragon" is the best movie of 2010 if not my life. The 3D animation seen in any decent theatre is enough to take you away from your own world. The storyline is spectacular & quite suprising in originality. The scene consisting of baby dragons was quite adorable & entertaining, to point one out of many good scenes. You can feel a heartfelt message here that is easy to receive. One will go to any lengths to do what they must for themselves & their God-given responsibilities, be they blood or from strange places. This is one to keep for the ages.

My family enjoyed this movie immensely. It was a nice afternoon escape, with a good balance of action, a classic hero storyline with a few nice twists, and healthy dose of humor, but physical and verbal. It might be a tad scary for younger kids, but my five year old was mesmerized and not scared at all. Some of the action sequences (especially when fighting the dragons) are very fast, and a little on the violent side, but overall the movie didn't come off as overly violent. The story is predictable, in the end, but has just enough twists to keep you interested. Recommended.

Just a great movie for all ages. Good story, great quality, just a fun movie for the entire family. This was our second time watching the movie; the first was non-3D and this time in regular HD. I have to say the 3D effect was minimal, not much of a difference. Maybe the IMAX 3D would be better. So far the best 3D effect I have ever seen was Jim Carey's A Christmas Carol. That was AMAZING.
Regardless, this is a fantastic movie and a Must See. Enjoy!

My husband and I took our 5 year old son to this movie. All of us enjoyed it! The 3D effects were great, but were really just the icing on the cake with this movie. The story itself was engaging, exciting and kept my son on the edge of his seat throughout the movie. As a parent, I appreciated the powerful message the movie provided as well. I took my 2 yo. to see this movie last night and he loved it. He kept the 3D glasses on the whole time, he was interacting with the screen, telling the Dragons to "stop" when they were fighting. The 3D effects were amazing, the scene with the ash floating threw the air was great. There was adult humor but not raunchy or tasteless, more like sarcasim. We are going to see this again!

Took my boys, 6 and 8, to see this movie yesterday. I was expecting it to be cute but it was so much more than that. We saw it in 3D and the visuals were amazing, but the best part was the story itself. I have seen a lot of kids movies in my time but this was by far the best all around. Well plotted and very well animated. My wife, who tends to pooh-pooh all animated films, enjoyed it, as did I. She had gotten a bit queasy watching Avatar in 3-D, but there was no such problem with Dragon. It was a movie with a lesson and a message, but it was not heavy-handed.

Took our 4 year old to see this movie last night and was expecting it to be pretty good, but I am honestly shocked at how much I really loved this movie!! It was so great, so adorable, funny, and suprised me in every way!!! So glad we saw this one!!

I expected to enjoy this movie, but was pleasantly surprised with how good it actually was! The 3D was subtle--rather than seeing swords and fireballs and other items flying out of the screen, as is often the case in other animated 3D movies, here it made me feel as if I was a part of the scene, itself. I felt like I was riding a dragon right along with the main character, and it was fantastic. It brought the animated world and characters to life.
Of course, this movie would have been wonderful without the 3D. It was well-written, well-animated, and the cast was superb. That being said, the 3D greatly added to my experience. During one scene of the movie, I found myself wanting to brush falling ash out of my way to see the screen better! It was just that good. I expected this movie to be worthy of a B, but it was a definite A+.
Bring the entire family, it’s worth it!

I took our two children to see this movie. The 3-D effects were great and not too scary for our littlest one.
