Great graphics, superb actors and story. Something the kids might miss in this story is that just because traditionally or culturally you have always hated another group of people, compassion and understanding can sometimes win the day. The thing that they will hopefully catch is that a wounded hero is still a hero. Hiccup ends up with a prosthetic but he was a real hero in the story. With so many of our own heroes returning home from the wars with missing limbs, perhaps this will help them see past the 'differences'

The strangest thing is happening at the movies these days. The stories driving the animated films are becoming better while the normally acted films are weaker and depend more and more on remakes of older films. Where have all the writers gone? Disney! Dragons is a well-scripted, three act movie that both kids and adults will enjoy. There are funny little moments, touching tender moments, and some fantastic action moments. See it with the whole family!

The whole family loved it, including an 11-yr-old and a 7-yr-old. Beautifully animated, especially the dragon (like a cross between a Stealth bomber and your cat) with good characters throughout. A couple of unbelievable plot twists, like Astrid's sudden conversion to dragon-lover, but really who cares when the rest is that much fun.

It was the first movie we took our 4 yr old too and he really loved it. I would be a little careful since the movie is a little darker than the TV ads lead you to believe but overall my son really enjoyed it and we enjoyed it with him.

We took our 9-year old girl to the 3D version of this movie. The story and animation are of the first order and although the 3D effects were supportive of the narrative, the movie stands on its own 2 feet as a classic of its genre. Excellent story well told.

This is a great movie. I took our 9 year old son to it and we both loved it. There is so much emotion shown in all of the character's eyes. Beautifully done, with heart-warming friendships being built. You forget it's 3D and feel like you're right there with them.
