Our son, in kindergarden, *loved* the movie, and was only really scared/upset during a brief moment at the end of the pivotal second act (when the town's folk capture Toothless). Given the fast pace, and subject matter (transforming the dragons-to-be-feared into dragons-to-be-friended), I think he's probably at the lower end of the age range of those who would really enjoy the film. It was great fun for his parents, and I highly recommend it for anyone from first-grade up!

Amazingly good. Does start out a little slow, but so worth the wait. Do heed the PG rating; it's not for the little ones... I would say maybe 6 and up. Amazing. I don't know what else to say. We are in love with Toothless.

My kids, boy, 9 and girl, 7, loved this movie. I have enjoyed it too. It was not too much of a sensory-overload trip. Good story, with a great series of books to it, which I hope the kids will want to read. It's a kid of a story that makes the kids think about important issues in their lives, but does not overwhelm them. In my humble opinion, 3D is an afterthought, - safe to wait for a DVD.

This was a great action/adventure movie that just happened to be animated. I love the way the 3D exeperience allows the characters to jump off the screen. The story was amazing. I took my wife and 8 year old son to this movie and I have to say that they both enjoyed it as well. I really did an amazing job in keeping both its adult and child audience entertained throughout. An amazingly good film.

Wow! I really enjoyed this movie. Probably more then my son. The dragons were cool, scary, funny and at times like that new puppy you brought home for your kids. Great message too for the kids. Would recommend not to miss it. If you are strapped on cash, no need to see in 3D, it is an excellent treat for your eyes in any format.

Our family of "olders" loves a good animated movie. We weren't too sure about this one when we first saw the previews as it looked a little "too young" for us. After seeing the clips during the Olympics, our interest was piqued. After viewing the 3-D film, we are big fans now!!! What a beautiful, eye-catching, powerful movie this is! And it has an excellent story line!!! The characters grab hold of you and make you care about them and the scenery takes your breath away. The 3-D is outstanding!!! This will definitely go into our family movie archives!

My son had already read several of the books and still loved it. I found it to be a fun movie and did not see anything but smiles from kids and parents afterward. Everybody clapped at the end.

I thought it was a very cute movie, and I loved the characters and the individuality of the dragons. Overall, a great kids movie - although I found the story a little heavy for kids. I'm 33 and I was sad at times, so I can only imagine how some of the story affected a child. There were definitely a few scenes that I know scared the beejeezus out of some of the kids in the theater (I heard the crying) and in 3D, that had to be super scary! But the comic side of the film was great and hearing the roaring little voices of laughter was great. My nephew is 6, and he enjoyed it but I would think better of it had he been younger.

I thought the movie was really good. My 7 year-old really liked it. He was actually quite during the entire movie. My 3 year-old enjoyed it but did not like the glasses.
Movie plot was basic but enjoyable with a few surprises. The 3-D graphics were great - much better than I am used to (1st time I had gone to a 3D movie in a really long time).
Very good movie & will most likely buy when out on DVD.

This movie is full of action from the beginning. There is a great story line that keeps kids and adults entertained on the edge of their seats. The story shows the value of compassion to animals, in this case dragons. Although, I am a sucker for personalization of animals in any type of movie! See it in 3D for sure - it is amazing!!

This movie is the first movie which kept my 4 year old son sitting down the entire time! He was so into the story and did not ger bored for a second. My 5 year old and 14 year old enjoyed it as well so it's a great family movie for all ages. The story is touching and well written. My son just turned 6 and in the past has been afraid of 3D movies. He's always just watched 3D movies without the glasses. This movie was great! The whole family enjoyed it. (kids age 7 and 9 and parents) My son asked if we could buy the DVD when it comes out....before we even left the theater! The kids really enjoyed it- and so did I. It was a little scary for my five year old in some scenes. Lots of fun though. We saw it in 3d but I didn't notice much 3d effect. Regular version probably just as good.

Wow! What a great movie and the animation was out of this world. The story was great and got right into the action in the first scene. Everything moved along quickly and I thought the characters actually showed more depth than some of those in Avatar; i.e; people actually came around and realized 'the truth' sooner. Animation was some of the most realistic I've ever seen; the lighting and shadows were fantastic. Overall a really fun ride and a great story about being yourself.

THis movie was even better than I had expected. The storyline was well thought out and unique. There is one scary part towards the end that had my four year crying (intense, loud, scary picture, and 3D TO BOOT!) All 4 of my kids aged 4, 6, 7, 9, their grandparents and myself all loved it! Definitely go, it is a great movie. I will be buying this one when it comes out!

I really enjoyed this movie. I was surprised how touching it was and how much meaning there was. My 6 year old wants to see it again. Definatley see it in 3D.
