My sons - ages 10 and 12 - found very little here to laugh about. Most of the jokes seemed to be aimed at adults. There were occasional bits which they enjoyed - notably the fence-ripping bit - for the most part they might as well have been watching a documentary. For me, it just seemed too clever by half.

I took my almost 4 year old daughter on a "date" to see this movie. I thought it was funny and she liked it but got bored/distracted about 2/3 of the way through. I would definately recommend this for a little bit older kids in theater and all kids when it's out on DVD.

While this movie was enjoyable and thoroughly pleasant, I wouldn't put it in the same tier as a Pixar. There's just not enough attention paid to the story. Yes, this movie utilized the medium of 3D animation well but the story never gripped me. All in all, this movie was fun and the voice actors did a great job with what they were given. I had a good time at the movie but might suggest a matinee or rental.

I think this is a great movies for the kids. There was some adult "funnies" in it if you look but overall the kids seem to enjoy the movie. I am almost 40 and I laughed all the way though it. I took my 10 year old son to see this movie. I would give this movie a 7 out of 10. It was good, but not great. The story line was good, but I felt there could have been more characters (monsters & aliens) as well as abilities. There were some funny parts, but I didn't laugh out loud at any point. I thought the characters were cute. Seth Rogen and Paul Rudd were the best voices I think. A bit misleading on the previews/trailers as the movie seems appropriate for little kiddos (2-3 yr olds) but my toddler was scared by the Insectosaur and the Robot and it was quite loud with lots of peril. My older children enjoyed it and there is quite a bit of adult humor thrown in for good measure (I love the "convenient truth" comment by the Missing Link).

When I first saw the preview for this movie, I thought it was gonna be really chessy. It's not! It's actally really funny. And they don't do that stuff where they try so hard to make you laugh. My favorite character was Dr. Cockroach (Hugh Laurie). My favorite part was when the President of the U.S. approached the robot and started playing the keyboard. The whole family can enjoy!

A bit misleading in buying tickets for this movie though. Originally bought tickets thinking it was for the 3D version but it wasn't. Had to pay extra for the 3D version when arriving at the theater plus we had an extra one hour wait time because of this. The movie was really fantastic and we were pleased that it was after the mixup in the tickets. This should be made more clear from the start. Was worth the wait. Hope there will be a sequel. Fell in love with the characters.

We went with kids ages 25-52 and everyone enjoyed it, we were quoting the movie's goofiest lines when we left! Great fun.

my wife and two daughters and I all really enjoyed the movie. very pleasant surprise that there was enjoyment for everyone. All thought is was much better than Madagascar 2 or WallE.
