We took our 4 year old son who liked most of the movie. There were parts where he was bored and got ancy in his seat. Some parts were above his head but would be understood by older children, maybe. He liked the parts he saw on the previews but the more serious parts he didn't understand, as is in most PG movies.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I viewed this movie with older teens and young adults. Everyone thought it was wonderful. Kept you laughing and even slid a moral that is a great lesson!
Great choice for a comedy for the entire family.

I took my 5-year old granddaughter and she did not enjoy this movie. I felt it was too intense for children her age and agree with a previous writer who felt it should be rated PG-13 and better suited for children 10 and up, perhaps. Scenery, though animated, was beautifully done and the Chinese culture well-represented. The death of the turtle was sensitively handled without being morbid and that surely offset the violence of the final battle.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

This is a definite buy when it comes out on Blu-ray. The plot is the typical "believe in yourself and you can do anything" plot that Jack Black has become known for playing well. This time he's playing it as Po, a Panda and the son of a noodle-making duck (they almost come close to telling how this happened, maybe on the DVD?) who wants to become more than he is. He idolizes the "Furious Five", the most famous Kung-Fu masters in all of China. Through random events (there are no no accidents, as you'll find out in the movie), he becomes chosen as the Dragon Warrior, the only one who can defeat the evil Tai Lung, played by Ian McShane.
The cast is awesome, with David Cross voicing Crane, Set Rogen as Mantis, Angelina Jolie as Tiger, Lucy Liu as Viper, and Jackie Chan as Monkey. Dustin Hoffman nobly voices their master, Shifu. There are tons of hilarious moments, mine being the scene under the peach tree when Po is caught eating peaches by Oogway, the old and wise turtle, played by Randall Duk Kim. Just watch and you'll see what I mean.
This is a definite must-see for the family, and a sure pleaser for kids of all ages. We took our almost-two year old daughter and my 11 year old, and we all were on the floor laughing!
It's amazing how far technology has come since Toy Story, with Kung-Fu Panda upping the ante as far as detail and photo-realistic imagery is concerned. Also, seeing this in DLP is a must if you can. Being able to see the details in the scenery and details of the characters adds a new dimension to the experience.
We'll definitely be seeing this one again, either in the theatre or on Blu-Ray!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

The plot of the story was ridiculously well thinking as well as the voice cast. I was expected more from the dialogs though and especially the end...a bit too wrapped up in my opinion! But overall, the movie is watchable and enjoyable. Too bad I had to come to see that movie with impolite and undisciplined kids around talking all the way through the movie....maybe it's time for a separate screening for adults to enjoy the greatness of such animation which was by the way well made as well as the music!

I took my 8 & 10 y.o. to this & they really enjoyed it (then again they enjoy the whole theater experience with Dad)! The movie had some entertaining moments for an adult, but not quite up to speed to want to see this again or own it later. The storyline seemed to drag at times. The movie relied mostly on people liking the character because it was Jack Black's voice & not the character itself.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Overall, this is a good family film. There are times that it can be a bit intense for those under 6 years of age. We saw the movie with out three sons ages from 3 -7 and my 7 year old loved the entire movie. He was able to appreciate the message, jokes, and action. My younger two had some anxiety during the action which was intensified by the speed of the changing frames and dark setting. However, once they realized the happy ever after, they left out raving about the movie. We are sure to buy it once it is on dvd.

with a bit of caution about the violence. I thought it was a bit excessive, and unnecessary (although I suppose that's why it had a PG rating). However, it was very funny, and started and ended on high notes. The characters were great, and Jack Black did an amazing job! My 6 and 7 year old boys were laughing out loud at many of the scenes. Not sure how i would feel about all of the "fat" references throughout, especially if I had daughters.

Kung Fu Panda was a well-written story line that caputured valauble life lessons with humor and great emotion. The animation was top-notch! It also captured real-life situations that we, as human beings deal with every day. The audience was a mix of young and old alkie with each person enjoying themsleves. There is no reason not to believe this movie will become a classic film that will enjoyed by many for years to come. Do not miss this opportunity to share a great film with your family and friends. We went with some friends and their two kids. We have a 9 yr old as well. Panda delivers a kick and with lots of humor to keep the moving going. The animation is fantastic and the story is full of life lessons. There are some scarier images for smaller children, but probably nothing they haven't seen in any other animated movie. Jack Black is hilarious as a pudgy panda. Jackie Chan voices the Monkey, but has very few lines unfortunately. This is one of Dreamworks best movies.

We went to see this movie for my 12 year old son, my 17 year old daughter also went, along with me and my girlfriend who are 46 and 47. My son totally loved it, and the rest of us thought is was a great movie too. Although, their is fighting I would not not consider it violent, I have seen worse violence on the cartoons on television. Highly recommended for anyone above 8 years old as far as I am concerned!!

My church group and I, in our 20's went to see this movie. We were probably the oldest group in the theatre that didn't have a kid with them :) However, I am a Christian, and wanted to see a movie without all the crude s3xual humor & the violence and horror that has taken over almost all PG-13 and R-rated movies today. It was ashamed that I couldn't go see Adam Sandler in "Don't Mess With the Zohan", which was my first choice, because I read it had crude s3xual humor and situations and nudity, for a PG-13 movie!! Our minds are extremely vulnerable to be warped by worldly(temporal) things. Kung Fu Panda, like many animation movies, uses Godly themes. As in this case, the theme I got out of it, was that God has a special pupose for our life, and most of the time, we and others do not see it. But if we trust in our "master" (GOD) then we can realize that we are all destined for greatness if we have faith in God and his plan for our lives.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
