I watched this movie with three nine year old boys. The loved it as did I. They were so sad when it ended and couldn't believe it was "so short." The animation was lovely. The boys loved the "fight scenes." I am glad I took them. It is not easy to find an movie that entertains young boys while not offending anyone. I took my 4 year old son to this movie and he enjoyed it. I don't think that most kids would get the moral of the movie but it had enough action and humor to keep them interested. I would definately recommend this one.

my seven year old loved the action, the lessons the master taught, and really liked the ultimate truth of the movie(see it to find out!). i loved it too. it carried a great positive message and quite a bit of humour. everybody should be kung fu fighting!

Kung Fu Panda is one of the best animation. features ever made. Jack Black, Dustin Hoffman, Angelina Jolie, Ian McShane and the other actors all brought richness to their characters needed to tell this story. The moral of the story fit all audiences, but the violence throughout the movie should caution parents with very small children that this is not Winnie the Pooh, either. "Panda" has several hilarious moments where the audience broke out in unified laughter. This movie was well drawn animation that uses imagery as a part of the moral. The sweetest element was in the peach blossoms scene imaging death. All around it is a very good story that is entertainingly funny, and joyful. We highly recommend this movie for all ages but the very young.

I was much more impressed with the movie than I expected. The most impressive for me was the fact that they did not resort to crude behaviour to make the movie cute and funny. There were no bodily function noises, racial innuendos, etc for it to be a pleasant experience. The colors and animation was really exceptional too, as well as the all star cast. I also appreciated the fact that they included women in positions of power in the character arrangements. The message was a good one as well. I would definitely recommend to friends and family.

I took both my 11 yr and 6 yr old neices. The 11 yr old enjoyed much more. My six year old was a little scared of the "bad" Kung Fu Warrior. It was funny and entertaining even for adults. Due to some of the violent nature of the kung fu scenes, I may not recommend taking anyone under 10, but you know how your children react to certain scenes. Had I known of some scene depictions beforehand, I would not have taken the younger one. Overall a great movie for family and a must see in my book.

The movie was a hit for all ages in our family (3 through adult). Warning: all three of my children came out of the theater ready to try some kung fu on each other! If you are OK with a little cartoon violence, though, you will enjoy the life lessons discussed without being too sappy. The humor wasn't overly crude (just a few bodily jokes) and the animation was terrific. A fun summer flick!

Overall KFP was a good movie. Jack Black has some great lines that had me laughing out loud a time or two. My boys seemed to enjoy the movie and have continued their own Kung Fu fighting re-enactments for a couple days now. My only negative reaction is that 91 minutes of martial arts is tough for me to tolerate. 91 minutes of ANIMATED martial arts was grueling. So while I enjoyed the laughs, I was ready for the movie to end.
I'd recommend this to a friend with kids. For someone without kids, wait for video.

We took our 6 year old son and 4 year old daughter to see this movie. Both really enjoyed it. Our 6 year old is in karate and really liked the kung fu stuff, but I think he really loved the panda more. I thought the movie was funny and went by really quickly for a kids movie. There was some animated violence, but it was not too scary for our children. That's why it says it's rated PG instead of G so we knew that ahead of time. I thought the message or moral of the movie was a good one and I would recommend the movie to our friends with kids. We'll probably even buy it when it comes out on DVD.

My husband, sister and I went to see this movie last night, 6/7/08, and we loved it. There were just as many adults as there were children and there just as many laughs amongst the children and adults. This is a definite must see. My husband, six-year-old son and I loved this movie. It was well animated and funny. We are martial arts fans, and a lot of the elements you see in martial arts movies (the training scenes, fights, the ancient master passing his wisdom down in somewhat cryptic messages), were all there. There was even the complex family relationships and the reluctant master-eager student relationships. Some of the younger children may be frightened by the evil cat (Ty Lung), but the lines between good and bad, between right and wrong, were very clear.

My kids (5 and 8) are big Jack Black fans plus my youngest is in Tae Kwan Do, so this was a must see. The animation was fantastic, and the message was awesome. I didn't find the violence overwhelming; it was more Bugs Bunny type situations. Beautiful movie, entertaining for adults, and my kids are already saying it's the best movie ever.

Although we anticipated that Kung Fu panda would be a movie we wanted to see - we were pleasantly surprised at the greater substance and moral value it contained. On the surface it had awesome animation, attractive and colorful characters that were believeable (enough for an animation) and it had great sound and editing. However, the deeper meanings alluded to in the story really made the movie a 5 star for us. For anyone feeling unsure of their place, purpose or just even a little bit down -- this movie reminds you that you can achieve your dreams and potential if you try. On the surface, again though, its just funny and Jack Black really brings it home!

this movie was a great movie for kids and i think adults can get a laugh out of it too. I would strongly recommend it to all families.

I went with my 11 year old daughter and we both loved it. The jokes were funny and the prat falls were perfect for the kids. I would recommend it for older children, though, as the villian in the story could be scary for some younger kids.

Wait until Kung Fu Panda goes to DVD and rent it. Even my 9 yr old daughter says it was OK not great. Thank goodness for the pop corn or the 2 hours would have been a bust.
