This is one of the best movies in the Harry Potter franchise. We were not to thrilled with the Order of the Phoenix but the Half Blood Prince revamped the franchise. It was funny and somber at the same time - nice to see them grown up and the fun of being a young adult. Without giving anything away the theater was in hysterical laughter for a lot of the movie, and it went deathly quiet towards the end. When we left we felt fulfilled as though the book had been faithfully adapted and the ending was great - leaving it open for the next two movies. Great - can't wait to get the DVD for our collection.

The latest Harry Potter movie was slightly disappointing. It is still a great movie, but definitely not the best movie in the series so far. Daniel Radcliffe's performance was only so-so, and the plot was altered quite a bit. On a bright note, Jim Broadbent did a great job playing Horace Slughorn. Also the special effects were very well done, especially with the bridge collapse and flying through London scenes.The trailer showed most of the good parts, which also detracted from my enjoyment slightly.

The movie was really good, entertaining for the length of time it was for. It did just end suddenly, but there are more movies to come that will continue to the story.

Yawn - I would recommend this movie to a friend for viewing at home. Therefore, if need be they could take a nap during the long slow parts. My family found it disappointing. I agree with other posters that Dumbledore's death and funeral should have received better treatment. The movie ends badly, but that's point anyway: to set it up for the next installment.

Loved the book but found the movie average. Daniel Radcliffe played his Harry Potter role so tediously this time round. Ron was fun! So much of the book left out. Disappointing.. Am now reading Deathly Hallows and hope the two films of the book are better than this film.

I really enjoyed the movie, but I have to admit I was thoroughly disappointed. A lot of major parts were left out. I felt as if Dumbledore's death was not focused on enough. He was a huge character and his death to me felt really short and not important. Also, I didn't like how they left out his funeral by the lake. Dumbledore's death was a huge deal to me in this book and it shouldn't have been skimmed over in my opinion. Another major "cut out" was the battle of the Death Eaters vs the teachers. it was as if the Death Eaters came into the castle, killed Dumbledore and left; in the book it was a MAJOR part....

Overall, this episode of the HP series did not excite me. I thought that the movie was a bit slow moving at times, and I was not impressed with how the movie was adapted to the screen (especially the ending of the movie). There is definitely room for improvement for the storyline and direction of the movie.

I thought the movie was good, but it had a Matrix 2 feel to it. It left the audience hanging after Snape killed Dumbledore and it failed to really make me feel the loss of that character. Overall I'd give it B-.

It might have been a bad idea to reread the book in the two days before I saw the movie. I know every detail missing and what the heck is up with the Weasley's house catching fire? All of the movies so far have been pretty true to the books. I knew they weren't going to be able to put everything in the movie but half the book is missing. I'm really let down.

This was by far one of the best Potter movies yet! GREAT MOVIE! SO INTENSE! I sat on the edge of my seat the entire time. My son loved the movie too, didn't even eat his skittles, he was so mesmerized. I love the fact that the movies themselves seem to get darker as Harry has to deal w/darker & more dangerous forces. How can one not feel for him? Almost everyone he loves, he loses. I have not been able to read the books, but I so want to. And for those who bash HP, they just don't have anything better to do! This is a great movie, and well worth seeing!

Best of the Potter movies to date. Effects were really wonderful and well thoughtout. For the first time the young actors actually acted to each other instead of reacting to a "green screen" effect. Bravo! Can't wait for the DVD!

I enjoyed this Harry Potter movie the most of the six that have been made so far. The young actors are really coming into their own and were just fantastic! The entire feel and pace of the movie was spot on. My only caution is that this one is definitely not for younger children. I don't plan to let my daughter see it until she's at least 12.

Bad movie. Can't believe all the hype. Perhaps the bad seat influenced my view (they double sold the reserved seats in the Cinema Suites ...supposed to have seat right in middle of theater but they sold the seat twice so I was offered to find another seat or come back...I ended up in back row and couldn't see bottom portion of the screen because of high walls in Cinema Suites...I'm not tall but come on, what's up with the great wall of China?). But I really don't think a better seat would have changed my opinion of the movie. Production value was like a B movie...what's up with that? And reviews said acting was better as they were older but totally not true! Anyway, the whole movie and experience was a thumbs down for me.

There is no real action like in the previous movies.
They were able to get the idea of the book across even though they had to leave things out so that the movie wouldn't be 4 hours long.
I think they did a good job of staying true to the book. Love the way they bring the "love" interest of them being teenagers into the movie. It helps lighten up what you know is a turn toward the evil side gaining strength.

I must say I was quite disappointed. For the length of the movie I was expecting a bit more excitement. The story line was a bit weak, and the ending was anticlimatic.

This movie's story line was too long and too dragging. I think the best Harry Potter movie is a toss-up between "Prisoner of Azkaban" & "The Goblet Of Fire".

I've read all the books, and this one a few times. I loved the movie although as I expected many parts were changed/cut due to time constraints. I was very disappointed that one major fight scene from the book was for the most part cut. But to give the writers and directors credit, they did make the flow of the movie work without it. I think this movie may work better for those who have not read the books or have not read this book recently and might have forgotten some of the details. Otherwise...it is still in Potter fashion and comes off as an awesome adventure with much heart and meaning.

I really enjoyed this movie - it had great funny teenage-angst moments! And it was pretty true to the book, or as much as you could without it being 4 hours long.
