This Harry Potter movie was clearly a transition into the final chapters of these beloved characters. I wouldn't call this movie "bad" but I wouldn't even try to compare it to the greatness of the previous movies. I would wait to see it on DVD for sure, but you MUST see this movie if you are a Harry Potter fan! Could have been done much better, shame on the producers, writers and director, you got lazy! Just wait for the DVD.

Better acting than I remember - throughout, but especially Daniel R and whoever plays Ginnie W (not that her role is going to be confused with Stella anytime soon)

But feel this was a necessary part of the build-up to the conclusion.- creating the ground -work for understanding the "why" of future events. I did like this movie but you could tell that it was a setup for the final two films (book 7). One thing I did not like was the ending. That is a big part of the story and they did not do it justice. Instead of adding scenes that were not in the book (The Burrow) they should have devoted more to ending battle at Hogwarts. Also more could have been done with explaining the Horcruxes. Let us hope they do better with book 7 in both respects.

As with all the other Harry Potter movies, it picks up right where you leave off and leaves you hanging wanting for more. Great story and good job sticking to the book storyline - kind of funny - since I have read all the books and seen all of the movies thus far, I already feel like I have a picture in my head of the scenery and what is to come when I was reading the last few books before the movies came out. To all readers of Harry Potter, I strongly advise to approach this movie with very low expectations. Only then can this movie be somewhat enjoyable, at the very least. I've noticed over the years, the director does a good job with detail sometimes, but seems to leave out the main events that is crucial to making the movie MAKE SENSE. There is a gaping hole in the sequence of events. Such as the fight scene at the end was missing; in it's place stand many unanswered questions. Only those who have read the books will fully understand everything that is going on, but at the same time be very disappointed. Either way, this movie was not as phenomenal as the previous ones. Thankfully, i appreciated some of the humor.

You have to be really, really into Harry Potter to appreciate this movie. I would not call myself a Potter fanatic, although I did enjoy the earlier movies. So I guess I'm more of a casual fan. And because of all of the favorable reviews I went into the theater with high hopes. Those hopes were dashed.
Not only did the movie not live up to the earlier movies, it was just a 2-1/2 hour segue into the next movie. It was more like an episode of a teen series on the "N" than a real fantasy movie.
