Harry Potter 6 is yet another amazing installment in the successful franchise. The film's effects are great and the main children actors have really grown into strong actors over the films. The movie stays true to the book in spirit (though I would have liked to have seen more flashback scenes to Voldemort). The film also ran a little long and could have shaved some of the romance stuff with the kids but otherwise the film is a solid joyride of magical adventure.

I read the first book but I've only seen the more recent movies. This one really seems like little more than building up for the larger confrontation to come. Some parts felt arbitrary. There must be some rhyme and reason to the magic, some rules that make some things difficult or impossible but if those limits and rules exist, they are unclear. It often seems a mystery that powerful magic can do something such as put a house in order or compel one to love but all problems can't be solved by magic. I have no doubt the books clarify a lot of that, but without the background of the books, the limitations feel arbitrary and as a result, the plot seems absurd.

Opening was not in Dursleys. Alot of the meat of the book was left out. No Dumbledore's funeral, no battle scene when Dumbledore died. Apparated from Hogwarts when in book was from Hogsmeade. No wedding scene. Battle in cornfield wasn't in the book and the Weazleys house burning wasn't in the book.

The best of the 6 yet.. The relationship humor made the movie very entertaining, without taking away from the seriousness. Rawling did an excellent job writing the book, and the director did an awesome job recreating the book to the movie.

My grandson (13) has seen movies since he was 3. I always ask him to critique it. He started off with it was "boring". As I ask what he thought about characters, theme and action he said: Characters were "ok" but not active enough. Theme was "too confusing". We discussed this and his further thoughtful comment was "if I had not seen all of the other I would not have a clue what was going on. About actions, "It was dead" This equals boring to him. For Harry Potter fans I would recommend seeing it but don't expect it to be as good as the previous movies. I found it entertaining but shame on the producer and directors for not sticking closer to the book. There were areas where it was choppy and seemed to jump all over. And there are scenes that I know weren't in the book. I do love the characters and it does introduce the part friendship plays in love. But I hope the DVD is better than the movie.

I thought the movie was very good. There were some things that I didn't understand why they changed them from the book. I will be interested in seeing how they resolve some of the things they changed in this movie with the last book. All in all I thought it was a very good movie

I thought it was excellent! My husband said it was painful. I'm not sure if it's because I read the first book (and saw the movie) and was in love with the characters already. I felt the 2 1/2 hours flew by, which I was concerned about at first going in. I loved the storyline, with the (young love) love triangles entangled in it and the good vs. evil theme which is much of life. LOVED IT! LOVED IT! LOVED IT! I'd see it again.

The kids and I both enjoyed this film. The story keeps you interested and the producers ability to adapt the script to kids that are becoming young adults, worked well.
