I'm not going to completely flame the movie because, like the others before, it was well done and fairly enticing. The movie was a fantastic addition to the rest of the series, but like most movies based on novels, it didn't quiet live up to it's counterpart. So, if you've never read the books, this movie will appear as the stunning, adventurous and, at moments, very amusing work of cinema it was meant to be. Unfortunately, if you have read the books you will, as I have, catch every single flaw and discrepancy within. This is not to say the movie sucked, it was very enjoyable and I'm glad I spent the money to see it. They left out enough that I'm not sure how the final movie will work. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I found this movie very boring. I am a big fan of the movies and the books and found this to be the worst of the 6 movies. It was too long, nothing happened and the climactic fight was skipped over. This is the one film of the series that can not stand on its own. If you hadn't just read the book you will be lost.

The only complaint I really have is that the bulk of the scenes were shot too close. I would have preferred wider shots, especially when changing scenes. The stlye was too modern and didn't fall in line with the overall fantastical feel of the previous movies.

Except for the ending. The big battle at the end in Hogwarts and the funeral for Dumbledore should have been included in the movie. By not having those two key items in the movie, it fell short of being the best Potter movie ever. Other wise I think it was great and really set the stage for the final movie. If you are expecting the movie to be word for word the book, you will be disappointed...but if you enjoy the Potter movies for what they are (as a separate entity), then it is thoroughly enjoyable and a must see. I so can't wait for the next two movies and I am glad that they will be done in two, it gives us something to look forward to for the next 2 years.

The movie was very enjoyable, but they spent too much time on teen hormones, and not enough time developing the major point of this book, which was preparing Harry to find the Horcruxes. They left out sime very important memories, the struggle with Scrimgeour and the Ministry of Magic, Percy, Fleur and Bill, etc. The battle with the death-eaters in the school was left out,, and they did not really cover the ring, which is a major player in the next book (from what little they showed of it, it did not even have a stone in it.) Overall an enjoyable movie, the characters are great ... but I don't know how they're going to make the next (2) movies after leaving so much detal out of this one??

Much differently played out than the others in the series, which is refreshing. As expected of a movie based off of a novel it lacks the details that a book offers, but still worth seeing. Harry Potter and the Half -Blood Price is a great movie and I would recommend this to everyone. The movie was 2 and half hours long and when it finished I feel like I want more. I was just a little disappointed when they did not show why Snape is the half-blood Prince. Secondary actors did a great job too in performing their characters.

Walking into the theater knowing that the movie itself is not going to come close to describing the details found in the novel itself - is #1 & crucial to enjoying the movie and not being disappointed. Like all HP movies, they can't compare to the books themselves but they do try to highlight on the most important elements so that those people who haven't read the books, can follow along and not be lost. The graphics were amazing, the drama was intense and the emotions & thoughts of all the characters were all layed down for the next flicks. Truly well delivered. :)

If I had never read the book, I might have thought this movie was at least OK. There was too much emphasis on the romances, snogging and who's chasing who and not enough on the real storyline. I don't know which was more irritating; the important parts that were omitted or the insignifigant parts that were added to sensationalize. Leave it to Hollywood to screw up a perfectly good story.

Although they obviously had to cut a lot of the intricacies of the plot (details about Voldemort's past, etc.) which made the 6th book my favorite of the series, the film was still entertaining - funny, moving, scary. Emotionally, it induced as much of a reaction in me as the book. Confident Harry was hilarious.

Personally, I thought this latest Harry Potter was excellent. One of my teenage daughters stated she had wanted more action scenes. But I reminded her that this movie was important in the series as it answers many questions, such as how do Ron and Hermione fall in love and how do they figure out how to kill Voldemort. As a writer, I find J.K. Rowling's stories original, creative and very-well written and this latest movie based on her books is no exception.

This movie was a good movie in the set of the series. Although it cut out a lot from the book, but it was still a good movie. It focused almost exclusively on character development. Not to say that there was no action in it, but it was just a slow movie. Its not great, but it needed to be there to set up the 7th and 8th movies. The trailers hyped it up with all of this action, but after the movie ended, I feel like nothing really happened in terms of action. The few scenes with potential did nothing with it, and the filmmakers tried making up for it with flashy effects in other parts of the movie. There were hardly any other characters present in the movie other than Harry, Ron, and Hermione

As a Potter fanatic, I was disappointed that not everything in the book made it in to the movie but appreciated the length of the book and accepted the limitations of the cinematic version. Also, as a Potter fanatic, I found it hard to accept the dialogue in the movie that simply could not be found in the book, but despite its deviation from autheticity, the changes were exquiste and worked well in the film genre. Harry, Heromine, and Ron's transition from children to young adults was believeable, and their one liners, especially "I am the Chosen One" were simply hysterical.

Ok, so of course it cannot compare to the book, what movie really can? Overall it was a very good movie, especially if you don't act like a freak and pick every scene apart and compare it to the book. For the most part all of the Harry Potter movies have stuck very close to the books. So as long as you are not a total spaz this movie was great, can't wait for the next one.

My daughter and I are true Harry Potter fans. She has read the series through at least 5 times. We enjoyed the movie immensely. I do wish they would have had the funeral scene in there where the phoenix comes out of the casket! Seeing Fawkes fly away in the end was not the same. You knew it was Fawkes - but the phoenix coming out of the casket made you think Dumbledore was being reborn.
The best part was seeing the book come to life. It was well done considering there was much they could not put in as it would have been a five hour movie! It was worth the wait and it makes us even that much more anxious for the last one. I hear it is in two parts!! WOW!!

The movie is long and more cerebral and dark than the previous films. Don't expect a neat ending. Think "Empire Strikes Back" with wands.

I wish I had four hands......so I could give this movie four thumbs down. Action scenes are straight up cut out and the entire movie is about teen romace. I must admit the acting is getting better but I still left very the theater VERY dissapointed. I just have one question. When are some randoms going to start dieing?

The movie overall was pretty good. Quite a bit of character development. The ending was disappointing to say the least. A major scene was left out of the end that I was really looking forward to.
