This movie had great visual stimulation with a lot of surprises hidden within. It had the dark side to it but also gave a taste of everyday light side (love interests). By no means am I saying this was a "chick flick". On the contrary; it appealled to both audiences. The only disappointing factor was the end. I was expecting a more climatic ending where I didn't feel like it was left up in the air. On a personal note; I would have given it 4 1/2 stars but the scoring system doesn't allow that. I think all who see the movie will diffently enjoy it.

This movie incorporated both the dark and action of the other movies while also allowing a more comical side of all the characters to come out! I thought it was pretty good for the most part. Yeah, they glossed over some good stuff and misexplained others, but that's par for the course with this series. It just seems laxidasical with the last few movies. It started with PoA, rearranging and dropping important stuff to the whole storyline. It just seems like the movies have been made by people unable to see the forest for the trees. A lot of this stuff could be easily fixed or avoided if the most important person, the author, actually cared about what was going on. It seems the fans now care more about the story than her.

Luckily, I was warned that this movie doesn't follow the book as closely as the others did. While my family found that disappointing, we did enjoy the movie although we wished it had a darker feel throughout and not just at the beginning and the end. The actors have grown into their roles and give good portrayals of their characters. If you want romance and teenage angst with a dash of adventure, this is the movie for you. Of course, if you're a Harry Potter fan, you wouldn't miss it, so my advice to you is reread the book after seeing the movie not before. The end is corny!

I do believe this is the best Harry Potter movie to date. The technology and acting has greatly improved since the first film. I especially liked the quidditch scenes. I was unbelieveably disappointed with the sixth film. It actually made me wonder whether or not the people who did the movie actually bothered to read the book. I'd been looking forward to this movie for months, and the sixth book happened to be my favorite. However, the amount of "artistic liberty" taken was atsounding, and out of the entire movie I'd say taht there were only two scenes done well, and according to how they were done in the book. I'm a huge Harry Potter fan, but I was highly disappointed.

The only parts they absolutely should not have left out are Harry finding out that it was Snape who overheard the prophecy, and they should have included more of an explanation of why Snape was the Half Blood Prince. I would consider those integral to the story. I would have loved seeing the battle as the Death Eaters left Hogwarts, but i suppose that was not really integral to the storyline. Other than that, the humor was fantastic, and I thought the cave scene was especially well done.

The characters were far more developed, especially Dumbledore. The 3 primary actors have shown tremendous growth as they are well into their late teens. The end of the movie was slightly disappointing as it left you with a sense of "what's going on" and how does this lead us into the next version of Potter? The Harry Potter franchise continues to get better and more complex with every installment. As the actors have aged their performances get better allowing the plots to be as well developed as the books. As if the audience already can't wait for the next two films, they throw in a cliffhanger ending leading into them.

First I want to say over-all the storyline sticks and it was decent. I understand it was cut into two movies because of the time issue, that and H'wood wants to stay in business. However, I feel half-hearted about the reasons for doing this and it has dramatically degraded my opinion about an awesome book! Again, the movie was good but I felt there could've been more done to keep this book together (IMO).
No, I do not recommend this movie.

I loved it they kept it very close to the book!Cant wait for the next one that is when you see dumbledores funeral!But it was great go see it!
