Going a step farther than before, David Yates and his filmmaking crew have effectively brought the sixth Harry Potter book to life. The writing is clever and even manages to guide the previously theatrical Dumbledore character to the kind, fatherly old man we all know and love. It was probably in this movie I realized what good actors everyone was. The special effects are flawless too and although the film can't follow the book perfectly, it really brings it to life in a way not seen in the earlier films. Overall, best one yet!

I went to the midnight showing & waited in the theatre for 3/12 hours for this movie & it was well worth it. This movie stuck to the book & I was so excited to see little parts of the book added in. It was funny, but not in a childish way. The bond between Harry & Dumbledore is quite moving & the relationship woes of Hermione & Ron and Harry & Ginny are touching and sweet. All of the parts that are meant to scare actually terrify you & the ending will make you cry even though you know its coming. The acting in it is superb & you really feel the tension rising as we approach the big ending. You can't miss out on seeing this on the big screen.

I've choosen not to read the books (even though I do have them) before I see all of the movies because then I am innocent of any expectations. I especially liked that they started where "The Order of the Phoenix" ended. All of the characters were "humanized" and it made for a more realistic experience than one of fantasy. The humor was not only well written but perfectly timed. I would recommend this movie to everyone, and know that they would leave the theater with a myriad of satisfying emotions!

I was hoping for the best movie yet, but I think it fell short of Order of the Phoenix. I really need to stop rereading the books prior to seeing HP movies because the changes really annoy me. I feel like they added in some unnecessary scenes and cut necessary scenes. The movie was rushed and the ending was anti-climactic...the big battle I was hoping for was missing. But overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. Alan Rickman was fantastic as usual and Rupert Grint has become a great comedic actor!

I am a huge Harry Potter fan. I've read and loved all of the books and have seen the first 5 movies countless times.
We've been waiting for this movie since the last one ended and I can say, it was NOT worth the wait. The movie was almost 3 hours long, which would have been fine if it conveyed the same sense of adventure/danger/excitement as the others. Unfortunately, it was, for the most part, boring. It felt like a lot of the film was thrown together and some of the acting felt forced.
In a long series of movies, there's bound to be one that isn't so great. This is by far the worst of the series.

For the most part i have thought the movies have been better than the books, however this new installment of the Harry Potter series took a turn for the worst. The entire point of the movie was to lead up to the hunt for the horcruxes and well that was poorly done. There were virtually no fight scenes even though there should have been a huge on in the end. I know a lot has to be cut from the book to make the movie but there is good stuff to cut and bad stuff to cut. In my opinion too much detail was put into useless information and not nearly enough into the things that made the book good.

Director David Yates screws up the ending of another book in the HP series. He takes the last 2 chapters which includes Harry finding out who betrayed his parents, Harry forcing Dumbledore to drink the poison, the tragedy on the tower and the aftermath in the infirmary and dumbs them down to 10 min in a 2 and a half hour movie. And 2 of those points are missing completly. Geez!! Don't be fooled by all the positive reviews, read the book instead!!!

The movie was less than I had expected and not even close to what I had hoped it would be. The theme of book 6, a trip down memory lane to discover Voldermorts past in an attempt to discover his weaknesses was lost. For a two and half our movie I believe the focus was misdirected and the only theme that stood clear was the obsession with relationships--L. Brown was beyond annoying. The cave scene was the best part of the film. The final fight scene with Dumbledore was drastically cut short.

If you are a book fan it is a total let down. I understand that the book is detailed and a lot to fit into the movie, but there should be enough detail so you don't have to make up parts in the movie that did not actual happen in the book. I thought the movie started off pretty good and got increasing worse. Throughout the whole book, no one knows what Draco was mending in the room of requirement, when in the movie it was known in the first hour. Also the scene over Christmas break never happened and should not have been in the movie and what happened to the invisibility cloak and the battle at the end. They could have made them both work but instead the Director did what he wanted instead of going a little more to the book!

This movie was perfect. being the psych nerd that I am, the way Draco's troubles were delved into was perfect. You could see he wasn't a bad kid at heart, and that was really amazing. The only thing I would have changed was that there was no battle scene after Dumbledore was killed, which leaves a whole lot of plot points out. Like Remus' death, Bill getting attacked by a werewolf...What will they DO next time? Oh, and the theatre I watched it at made me miss a chunk of the movie, because the sound went out, so all we were doing was watching a silent film...minus the subtitles.

This is the movie that finally ends Potterhead's obsession with what was LEFT OUT of the adaptions. Unlike prior iterations (I'm looking at you Order of the Phoenix), THBP stood out on its own as a tight well constructed story instead of a conglomeration of all the necessary scenes for the ending to make sense. Admittedly the balancing act between the darker elements and the humor was a little helter skelter at times. The penultimate adventure certainly sets the stage for the two part finale well. If anything, the movie will bring the anticipation for the ending to a level surpassing even that of Star Wars!

I waited at the theater from around 5:30 PM till the 1201 AM showing. My friend and I were so excited about what we thought was going to be the best Harry Potter yet. Boy were we so wrong. Harry Potter 6 was simply amazing. The script was flawless, the actors (especially Tom Felton) brought such raw emotion that you were filled with it. I was worried about the ending, but it happened beautifully. I felt terror and was heartbroken and felt it was the perfect end. They DID cut out a lot of the book (mostly the political parts) but I did not feel that it was sufficiently lacking. Funniest scene ever!=hospital wing with Ron. All this drama was happening and the teachers were just standing in the background like 'ummmmm'

Half Blood Prince was the best movie of the series so far! Although some great scenes were cut, as a die hard fan I was not left wanting too much more. I haven't followed up on the Harry Potter Literary series, however I have followed up on the movies (obviously.) HP6 definitely did not have as much action as I expected, but it was still a great movie; I loved how they tied in a lot of humor. I was told Albus Dumbledore is killed in the seventh book, so personally I think he should have been killed in the seventh movie. I loved the movie. I just fully loved it. People say that they don't like how it was changed from the book, but come on guys. That was bound to happen. At least the parts they changed, they changed them well!
The movie was SO funny. I'm happy that this one was more light than the others. Since the third one they have been really dark. If you look at the colors, it's blue during the fourth and fifth ones and in the sixth one it's like .. yellow.
I loved it.

While there was deviation and omitions from the book, the gist of the tome was complete. The humor was inline with children of their age Suspense was plentiful and served to enhance the overall movie experience. Loved it.

The movie was great! It was really funny. Especially Ron! Can't wait for the next two movies. It was disappointing to realize that certain things in the book didn't make it to the movie, but all in all it was a wonderful continuation of the Harry Potter saga. The main actors did brilliant jobs... they were most enjoyable to watch. Don't miss this one. It was worth the wait (including the two hours in line at the theatre at 10pm last night).

I think that overall the movie was well done. There were bits and pieces that were in the book that were either not included or changed in some way, some of the changes kinda dissapointed me. But, in general the effects were pretty cool, and they did a good job with the movie.

I just saw this at midnight last night and by far this is the best Potter movie, the comedy, the romance and the battle to understand Voldemort and his intentions and deal with his Death Eaters deeds are really balanced and the 2 hours fly by leaving you wanting even more. I can't wait for the last 2. If they continue like this one, then they will be a great conclusion to this series.
