I really enjoyed this Harry Potter. It was well worth the five hours I waited in line to see it at midnight. Yates did a great job mixing humor into the storyline without being too distracting or seeming to try too hard. The one thing I didn't like was that they cut out the first battle of Hogwarts. I knew this going into the movie, but I was still a little disappointed. However, the rest of the movie was fantastic, I loved the new Burrow scene and thought the acting was quite well done. Everyone seemed to have improved since last time, and the newcomers (especially Lavender and the younger versions of Tom Riddle) were fantastic. Great movie!

I could not have been more disappointed. What should have been a serious film was a comedy and teenage romance that invoked comedy when it should have been absent--i.e. at the end of the movie when Hermione starts to talk about Harry and Ginny's relationship in the middle of what had been a serious conversation about the future. The plot too was poorly constructed as it simply skipped over both significant portions and small details. Parts such as Dumbledore and Harry's trip to the House of Gaunt were woefully absent, while adding other small details--such as making Felix Felicis the gold color that it is would have greatly enhanced the movie for the true fan.

Though Half-Blood Prince did not stay completely true to the book, the movie did a fantastic job of including important scenes necessary to the plot. It is difficult to accurately portray a 700 page book in 2 1/2 hours and Yates does it well. The cast seemed to really grow up and come into their own in their acting. I was really impressed with Harry, Ron, and Hermione imparticular. Snape and Slughorn were absolutely incredible in this movie as well. I thought the movie wasn't perfect, ,but it was great.

This movie is the best adaptation from the book they have made, so far. Though I felt as though some of the scenes they cut from the book could have explained the movie a little better. I understand the need to cut the scenes. Though I was disappointed that they cut the last fight scene out of the movie I understand that they had to consider budget. Especially since the 7th book has a bigger more necessary fight scene. Overall the movie was very engaging and well scripted. The acting still needs a little bit of work.

This movie varies a lot from the book, which was expected. There is no way they can keep constant with all the wonderful information in the book, however it was still a great great film. Overall, the movie told the story it needed to. I enjoyed the humor and the love triangles. The special effects were awesome. One thing I find difficult with this director, as I did the last movie, he has a tendency to cut and chop scenes together. If I hadn't read the book I might wonder what the heck was going on. I was not happy that some things were left out and/or changed in the crucial ending scenes. Particularly Harry's part at the end. I won't say exactly what because I don't want to leave spoilers. But still overall, it told the story and I enjoyed it.

I was VERY disappointed in this movie. From the last one and this one, it felt NOTHING like a HP movie as we've seen in the past. I felt no connection with the characters and left hanging on parts that made no sense of why it needed to be there or even could have been a much better written story. Over all it left me disappointed and wishing for the old HP movies.. I would not recommend this to anyone to see. Its on you if you want to. Sorry guys.

Half Blood Prince was a book with replete with mystery and drama. The movie adaptation was for the most part a lighthearted romp. The horcruxes, which were so crucial to the book, were mentioned only in passing until the end, and so much attention was paid to Ron and Hermione's non-romance. . .there are several extraneous scenes which could and should have been cut in the interest of moving along the story line. Slightly choppy. . .the acting, however, was fabulous.

For the sake of the release of the film, I reread the sixth book 24 hours prior to the release. As I was reading the book, I did a lot of process of elimination. I was glad to see the small plots here and there to show that the trio are merely 16 years old. I half expected the movie to be exactly like the book but I was glad for that. If the movie was to follow the book to the "T" then there would be a major problem between die-hard fans and the nonfanatics. This movie so far is the best of the series. It allows fans and nonfans enjoy the movie to the fullest.

I absolutely loved it. The cinematography was the best yet and the special effects were stunning. I really enjoyed the light humor, and found myself laughing harder than I have in some comedies. I enjoyed that the first 2/3 of the movie was very tongue in cheek. Of course there were some inconsistencies, but they were overshadowed by an otherwise fantastic film. All of the actors have grown so much, both physically and as actors. I simply cannot wait for the 7th & 8th!

I don't think I could have written a better screen play. As far as comparing it to the book, however it fell short. This series has so much depth and background information that I am impressed they got the jest of the information in so that the non-reading audience will be able to just barely keep up with the 7th movie. Hopefully they make that last one a 2 part 3hr each movie so they can cover all they need to. One thing I didn't like about the movie was how it jumped around a lot trying to get all the needed information in there, which disrupted the story line that made it flow.

Do not read the book before seeing this movie. They added and subtracted important sections of the book and chopped every scene to where it ended on an awkward note. The raging teenage hormones were the entire theme of this movie, where it was not the main theme in the book.

This 6th installment of the Harry Potter franchise tries hard to become a romantic comedy, but falls very short of the action - fantasy fans have come to expect. The beginning of the movie sets a dark and ominous mood, but then the plot bogs down in teenage crushes, furtive looks, and missed romantic opportunities. The gratuitous fight scene in the middle of the film (non-existant in the book) is odd, given the down play of the fight scene at the end. Special effects were amazing, and fans of the series will enjoy seeing their favorite characters become closer.

There's not much I can say that hasn't already been said. However, I'd love to reitterate how amazing this movie is. Unlike the last few films it covered all the important details. The ONE drawback that I have is that they didn't show the fight for Hogwarts. They just let the Death Eaters run around the halls of the castle from the Room of Requirements to the Astronomy tower without any fuss, without anyone seeing them. Everything else was great. I especially like the balance between light hearted and heart breaking. Two thumbs up!

We thought it was a wonderful depiction of the books. Not perfect, but alas none of them have been. All in all everyone in our group decided this was still very entertaining and showed what needed to be shown from the 6th book. The other items that might have been left out have probably been left out from the get go so you didn't see the difference. All in all a good movie. I would not recommend it for children who scare easily though.

Having read each of the books at least five times (many 10+), I have to say that this one was the closest representation of the books. Yes, things were missing, and I wanted the big battle at the end, but much of the book was intact, and little "artistic license" was added in. I was very pleased and for the first time didn't spend the whole movie saying, "That isn't how it is supposed to be."

Overall, I think the movie was great but not awesome. I just felt it was very choppy and jumped all over the place. I did like some of the scenes that were added that weren't from the book, but I didn't like the ending. Why didn't they show the funeral? When Dumbledore died it was like oh well just another day. There were a couple of key parts in the movie that either didn't happen or happened differently from the book. If you just read the book, I could see why you might be disappointed. But, it was a wonderful movie, funnier than any of the others, lots of interaction with the main characters. Daniel Radcliffe (Harry) has tuned his acting skills, and was really the best in this one. Harry, Ron, and Hermione all smiled and laughed alot more!

The movie was done real well. Harry, Ron, and Hermonie had more of sense of humor than in any other movie. Definitley had some good laughs with some of what they said. In this movie, I felt that some important parts of the book were left out (but to fit everything in I guess some parts have to be removed) just wanted the whole story to come out and make more sense. Overall good movie, can't wait until the next one, hanging on the edge of my seat.

I thought the 6th movie was awesome. It had action, romance and comedy all put into one that had everyone in the theater laughing. I think the director did a good job of putting important materials from the book on screen. I give this movie two thumbs up! Can not wait for Deathly Hallows to come out. ( Its talked about that it should be out by November of next year.. that is part one of the movie.. )

Saw the movie last night it was great.. I'm a big Harry Potter movie lover have watched the movies over and over and they never get old. This movie was great.. I would go see it again.. Great graphics.. Humor just a great movie all around..

Don't get me wrong the movie was great. It was funny and entertaining for a majority of the time. I actually thought of the 6 so far it ranks as 2nd only to the sorcerer's stone. Sadly, they completely failed at converting the end of the book on to the screen. For a movie goer that does not read the books I'm sure it was great but for me it fell short with the ending. In my opinion the switch to PG is to blame and I hope that make the switch back for the last 2 movies. Still a must see

This was a great movie, but I was disappointed at the DIFFERENCES between the book and the movie. I understand the need to cut things from the book out of the movie, but I really don't like when they CHANGE things.
I loved the romantic parts added to the movie though.
