This Harry Potter film was extremely enjoyable, and is certainly one of the best ones so far. However, I must say that I was disappointed by the fact that the movie did not delve further into Voldemort's childhood. I also do realize that the film's time and budget constraints could not be compromised. Can't wait until the next two are released!

Midnight show as always and re-read 6 wondering how it would be cut. While I don't agree with all of the changes, it was the first HP midnight show my husband stayed awake through. It's a tighter story because of the edits- less confusing to those handful of people who will see it without reading the book. I have to see it again to fully appreciate it, but I am definitely looking forward to the next 2. I loved the tiny glimpse of the diadem in the ROR.

I knew what was going to be taken out before I saw the film, but I didn't realize how much this would change the 7th films. In the book, it is very clear that Dumbledore leaves the mission to Harry and his friends specifically and exclusively. This is hugely important in the 7th story, as the 3 really are completely isolated. I think the scenes with Snape were great, and I liked the way they handled the Astronomy Tower. Not sure I've ever seen quite so many innuendos in a PG rated movie, but it was hysterical. Overall, the film lacked a great climax and watched like space-filler. You should see the movie because it is part of the larger whole, but if you're expecting a great stand alone film, don't hold your breath.

Of all the books in the Harry Potter series, this had to be the hardest story to translate to film. This was more of a background story needed to close the gap on some of the running story lines and put characters in place for the upcoming battle. The movie containes all the action we love about Harry Potter, but with a bit more drama and depth. The story is darker and emotions run high. Harry and his friends are almost adults so now you see much of the light-hearted humor of pass films being replaced by deep emotions and more adult-like behavior. Where 'Order of the Phoenix' felt more like a coming of age, 'The Half-Blood Prince' shows what it feels like to take on the role as an adult in one of the most darkest times in wizard history.

the kids in this movie are growing up, and their comedic timing nearly impeccable. There was a lot of humor in this one, and it was MORE than enjoyable to watch! Entertaining from beginning to end, whether comedic, or dramatic. Can't wait to see it again.

First off let me say that I didn't 'dislike' the movie. The acting was great on all counts, the effects were fantastic and I loved the dark feel. But, the ending is the first and foremost 'man that sucked!' If you are not going to have the Deatheaters do the fantastic battle scene that Rowling wrote, then it was rather pointless to bring them into Hogwarts. There were also added scenes (especially the Burrow) that had no bearing on the plotline. It would have been better to expand the moments with Dumbledore and Harry rather than add in random fighting. So, well done in not disappointing me as much as Goblet of Fire. Well done each of the actors who are progressing more and more each time we see them. But still very meh.

It seemed like the only intention of this movie was to pair off the characters. The importance of the horcruxes wasn't really conveyed. If you hadn't read the books, you might have missed the significance. They cut a lot of elements and added some the were not necessary. It was not magical, as some reviewers have already said.

Like all of the previous movies in the series it is a bit off from the book so you have to go in knowing that or you will be disipointed. The grapics in this movie were the best yet and you can really tell that all the actors have grown into their characters. There was humor and action in all the right places. I know they have to leave stuff out...I get that. But I hate it when they change the scenes they do leave in. Overall, the movie entertained, very charming and it is always enjoyable to watch the characters come to life. If you read the books, you can visualize what they don't put in. BUT..if you have never read them, you are left confused and maybe a little dissapointed. I can only think that the director, etc filmed the movie hoping that 99% of the people who will see it read the books. But in the end it was worth it and I am looking forward to the next one already!!

***SPOILER ALERT*** The cinematography on this film was fantastic! Lighting, angles...it was beautiful. The basics of the script however, leave something to be desired. Too many things were taken out, such as Dumbledore's funeral (which *might* be the start of the next movie), and the Weasley brother's betrothal to Fleur. Instead, the Weasley's house was blown up by Bellatrix, thus changing the Weasley/Fleur storyline for movies 7 and 8. I'd see it again, but I was disappointed by the lackluster ending of the death of such a central character

I stood in line for four hours to see the new Harry Potter movie. I'm a huge fan of the books. I was very dissappointed in how the left out crucial parts in the movie that make the book so great. The added a fight seen that never happens and completely redid the ending. I really have no idea how the are going to make the seventh one. They will have to add so much detail because they didn't put all of the crucial information from the sixth one in the movie. I think it would have been so much better if they would have just made this one longer and followed the book more. It is suppose to be based of the book, so follow the book!

This by far is the BEST yet. I thought the effects were outstanding. They should at least be mentioned for an Oscar nomination. Watching the interaction between the core actors has very near reached a pinnacle. They make things so realistic and as in life, complicated. The humor was outstanding. Over all I think this has surpassed The Order of The Phoenix as my favorite. In actuality the rating should be 4.5 out of 5.

With a book as packed as # 6 is, there is just no way to fit everything in a 2 1/2 hour movie. With that in mind, you should have a good time watching the film. It was a bit too dark for a PG rating and not sure why the studio went for that. I felt the ending was too lack luster for the enormity of what happens in the book. One thing is for sure...this film is visually stunning!

I would have to honestly say this was by far the worse Harry Potter Film I have seen. It was long, boring, and quite vague about telling the story. I do not read the books mostly because I want to be entertained when viewing a movie, and this movie was not very entertaining. The trailers were by far more entertaining. Yes it was not the worse movie I have seen, but I know I will not buy it to add to my movie collection. The Love plots were childish and poorly presented with little imagination as to entertain. It seems that somehow someone got the idea that this movie needed to be melodramatic to make it watchable instead of making it the way it should have been made. Which is Mystical and Mysterious.

I did enjoy the movie, although it will not be listed among my favorites. The three main characters were very well portrayed and projected a maturity that will be necessary in the upcoming finale. Alan Rickman was superb, as usual, but there was not enough introduction to the Half-Blood Prince.
I realize that Ron and Hermione's relationship had to be developed, but there was way too much focus on the snogging and not enough on the wonderful relationship between The Big Three and Neville and Luna, especially, as a fighting force. It seems pretty crucial to the success of the final films.
Overall, I thought the acting was superb, and the score was wonderful. The directing/editing? Not sure yet.

Some weird editing and awkward directing, but loved the acting all around. Haven't liked Gambon previously for the most part, but no major complaints about him here. Loved seeing more comedic side of Harry come through, and thought Dan played it wonderfully, in addition to the serious stuff. Felton... woah. Exceeded my expectations, I can see why filmDraco is so popular. Everyone else was a treat, except I thought Bonnie Wright was a bit flat. Gorgeous cinematography and CGI, but not a memorable musical score.
Impossible for me to say whether someone who hasn't read HBP will be able to follow what's going on in the film, and I don't know where to rank this in my favorite HP movie list but I'll be seeing this one again 2x.

While admittedly, I read the book several times since it came out, I find this movie was very lacking. It glossed over all out of things and removed other things completely. To do more justice to this movie, it could have definitely been another hour. That would have let things feel not as rushed

This movie was very much unlike the other movies. The special effects had a major breakthrough and a lot more humor was added into parts of the movie. I think it could've been helpful to add more background on Tom Riddle, as the book did, but seeing the movie as it's own entity, I thought they did very well.

thought it was HILARIOUS. But my only thing is the ending. I HATED IT. What happened to the battle and Dumbledore's WHITE TOMB.... they rushed it and it made me mad. They ruined the ending. But I still cried when Dumbledore died. =O but other than the ending, I LOVED IT

The movie itself was pretty good but there were many inaccuracies with the book. I thought the movie should have had a much darker mood but the humor was very good. Overall it was a fast paced movie which always had your attention.

Loved the movie, advice dont read the book before you go, because they left out things that were in the book and were not in the movie, it still was a great movie, action packed, would go and see many more times

I absolutely loved this movie. I'd like to emphasize that this was the MOVIE not the BOOK! I know it's hard not to compare them, but I find that with HP you have to try to do that. No movie can live up to its book. The movies are on their own league.
As far as HP movies go, I really liked this movie. it was surprisingly funny. I thought it'd be a lot more dark, but it balanced it out very well with a lot of comic relief. There are a lot of unanswered questions, but I think that's the way they want the movie to be. It's the beginning of the end. Go watch it!!! Definitely the best so far!!!

I loved the movie! I am planning on going to go see this movie about 100 more times. There was one big let down for me about the movie. When Snap tells harry to be quiet before he kills Dumbledore! That was the one thing that was not ok with me but I will love to see the movie again and again!
