If you're into the budding love problems of 16 year olds, then sure check it out. If you want a good movie to spend 10 bucks on, pass this one. Seems to be a set up for the last movie, only they forgot to write a good script. On the drive home, I was actually trying to think of one good thing I liked about it, and it was difficult, but I would say there was one nice special effect scene. Overall, it was slow, and I kept waiting for something to happen other than kids being jealous that other kids are kissing the kids that they really really like.

Still a good movie, it just seems like it's lacking some of the exciting scenes and scenarios in the book. But then again, it would take 4 hours or so if they decided to include everything that was in book.
Not much of an action/adventure this time - but the special effects are well beyond excellence! as always.
It doesn't have that same effect/excitement as the first 4 installment.
Great acting, great cinematography. The director captures all the important scenes in the book. Can't wait for the next and last(?) installment (Book 7: Deathly Hallows).

True fans of Harry Potter will be shockingly disappointed and perhaps even angry after watching this film. The story line does not follow that of the book, as details about the new Ministry of Magic, the Prophecy, Sirius Black's death, and other major parts of the plot were entirely neglected. Much of the movie was made up and can be found no where in the book, not to mention that the movie itself appeared choppy and did not flow well. Even the few details they took from the book were changed so that they changed the story line in the movie.

I enjoyed this a lot. A little long, especially if you drink your entire large soda in the first hour as I did, but it never really drags until the very end.
Otherwise, the acting gets better each go around, particularly from the kids, and the story was fully satisfying. Not sure what to think of the climactic moment, the dark turns of certain characters, or the lack of the big bad, but I'm more than satisfied.

There was so much in the book "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" that they could have made 2 movies from it. All and all they movie was well put together. The changes that were made were essential to the over all message. I particularly like the scene in the tower when Snape ask Harry to be quite. The kissing scene with Harry and Jenny could have been a bit more dynamic but will in time prove to be sweet. I would have liked to have seen more of the battle in the castle between the good guys and bad guys but am not unhappy with the existing special effect. thanks

Pretty good movie. It, like the book is clearly a set up for the next installment of the story. To date, this movie had the least amount of action and at times tended to drag. The movie did a good job of setting up the relationships between the main characters. Overall I would recommend this to other Potter fans and look forward to the final instalment of the series.

We really enjoyed this movie. The overall feel strikes a wonderful balance between action and character development. The visuals were stunning, absolutely stunning. Quidditch looked better than any of the other movies, and the Weasley brothers' store was a hoot. I enjoyed the improved acting ability of these teenagers as they get older, and appreciated the teen development aspect of the movie. The book is the book, the movie the movie. Afterall, a big appeal of these books is the fantasy of being in a boarding school with friends. I don't sweat the details of how the book and movie are different from one another. It was 2 and a half hours of entertainment and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute.

i have seen all the movies and read all the books but this movie was my least favorite of the six movies released to date. it was a bit boring and the acting was not up to par. the look and the feel of the movie was interesting, but overall i just cannot reccomend it. of course, i will be in line to see the final installment.

I thought this movie was so much better than the other ones. they stayed pretty true to the plot, though they COMPLETELY fabricated the weasley's house burning down and cornfield chase and stuff. they skipped and changed a bunch of other stuff but they always do that. the main thing was... harry was less of a prat in this movie and he was actually funny!!!! i hate him in all the other movies cuz he's so dry and 'i have to save the world all by myslef wahh im so mysterious and my parents died boo hoo" but in this one he was HILARIOUS after drinking the felix potion. harry high is FUNNY!!!!! so in my words, im buying this one (i own the first 2 but i never watch them cuz they SUCK!!!!). awesome movie and completely worth it!!!

SPOILERS! Very strange they added the Weasley's house burning down. Harry doesn't drink the whole bottle of luck potion, he gives it to his friends which keep them safe. When he goes to Hagrid's, he doesn't bump into the professor stealing plant juice, he's on his way to the spider's funeral. They cut moaning Myrtle from the bathroom scene and almost all the other ghost and portrait scenes. They cut the entire backstory of Voldemort and his family. Ginny does not go with Harry to the Room of Req., he goes alone and hides the book and marks where it is. Here she hides it so he can never find it. Harry and Dumbledore don't go to the town to transport out to the rock, they cheat and go from Hogwarts, Dumbledore says he has "privileges."

I really did not enjoy this movie at all. It was horribly dry, and left me waiting for something to happen. I would NOT recommend this movie. It was certainly not worth the 10 bucks. And honestly if I had watched it on TV I would have turned it off. I want my money back! No REALLY I want my money back, that was a waste, they should've played one of the other Potter movies.

We really enjoyed this latest Harry Potter movie. Great special effects and worked as a great birthday present for our 11 year old daughter, who's read ALL the books and helps fill in the rest of the family on nuances and details of the story. Great entertainment!

While several scenes from the book were left out and some new scenes were added, I feel that, overall, the movie stayed very true to the book. It was an enjoyable film. The Harry Potter story is growing up and getting darker as the characters age which is why I feel the movie is more appropriate for teens than for children 8 and above. I wouldn't call this a kid's movie.

This movie stayed closer to the book than the previous 4 did (book 1 was good for that too). This was excellent.
While it had some slight scary parts, I would recommend this movie to anyone age 8+. I plan on taking my two sons, ages 8 and 10.

This movie was pretty good and I liked the humor. However, having read the sixth book more than once I felt like a few scenes need to be added, for example at the end *SPOILER ALERT* there needs to be a funeral for Dumbledore, I feel like his death needs to be enhanced. I also feel like we need more scenes with Harry and Ginny. However, overall the movie was fun to watch and time flew by as I watched eagerly at midnight. Also, I feel like the scene with the Dursleys is pretty important in the book, but it was left out and that disappointed me. However, I like the fact that the characters are portrayed in a more grown up way and the fact that they are falling in love shows that they are maturing.

Going into this one I thought that I wasn't going to like it. I was wrong. It was a very, very good movie and exceeded my expectations. I can't wait to go see it again in IMAX. Obviously I'd go see it again.
It wasn't perfect, especially in terms of staying true to the books, but I found it to be the best so far. A few things disappointed me, but overall the things cut (and added) didn't bother my enjoyment.

Being a very big fan of the HP books I was slightly concerned that I would be disappointed with the HBP after the previous film. That being said, I could not have been more pleased with the movie if I had written the screen play myself. There were obviously a few scenes that had to be left out and a few things were added, but I truly enjoyed the film from start to finish. I would recommend it to anyone that has seen the films and read the books as well as people who have not yet experienced the magical world of Harry Potter.

This movie was sort-of flat and at the end I was like "It's over?". It didn't have enough of a bang to end it although there was always something interesting happening and it was absolutely hilarious when Harry had the luck potion!!!

I was hoping this movie would give me hope that there was a chance the pages could be transfered to screen. However, with so many key elements left unmentioned that are crucial for Deathly Hollow's, I don't know how Rowling is going to pull it together for the conclusion(s). The screenplay for Half Blood itself, while having some bright points, fell flat at the end. I was barely emotional when Dumbledore died. I was dismally disappointed at the omission of Tom Riddle's family history. I felt the internal conflict in Malfoy was not explored well enough. For what Rowling was trying to convey, 2 1/2 hrs was too short. Finally, if I wasn't a die hard fan, the final scene barely made me want to know what happens next. Better luck next 2 movies.
