I. LOVED. IT. Yes, the movie did stray from re-enacting all HBP events, but it allowed the audience to deeply understand the emotions leading up to book 7. Instead of throwing all of the events from the book into the movie, Yates did a wonderful job of explaining the most important aspects without confusing the audience. I came out of the theater feeling so humble and sad for Dumbledore. Just like I did when I finished the reading. It was an awesome tribute to the book.

My biggest complaint with the HP books is the lack of depth in the characters, but I think the movies help supply that level of complexity, and never more so than with Half-Blood Prince, which is so deliciously full of drama. Snape and Malfoy were brilliantly played, and the comedy parts were endearing. I was euphoric the entire movie and immediately wanted to watch it again!! My favorite of all the films!!

I thought that this movie was fantastic! i loved many parts of it but the only thing that i had a problem with was that it left me wanting for more...a little too much more. I think that this movie is more of a preparation for the seventh movie and book....but overall it was great!

The movie was fabulous. It left a lot out from the book, focusing mainly on the teenage relationships. The graphics were awesome. It's definitely worth a repeat visit, probably more than one.

From and analytical viewpoint the movie was brilliant. By far the most true to the book since movie three, it keeps in almost every major plot point. Character development in this movie is wonderful and for the first time they can actually act somewhat. Pace of the movie is great considering Order of the Phoenix's horrible pace and use of newspapers to move the story along. Using a continuous speed to get through the movie does not make it feel rushed. With funny comic relief, (maybe too much), and a wonderful love and relationshoip quips it truly makes viewing a wonderful experience. Effects and music also great. Overall, most true to the books, funny, love entangled, Emma Watson looking hotter than ever, and a great plot.

It was a lot of talking this time, and not enough of the book. I cried when Dumbledore died in the book, here I was just kind of like..."Oh. Ok." Malfoy became a whiney little boy, even though they changed his wardrobe to make him look much older, and towards the end he had a constant case of pink-eye. Your eyes are not pink when you cannot sleep, just FYI David Yates. The best part of the movie was the random perverted innuendos you kept getting from various characters. Overall, they tried to cram all the good stuff in the last 30 minutes, and failed at it.

It is my favorite out of the series, so far. They changed a lot of key points and left out big parts. In the book Harry and Albus guess what the horcruxes might be, giving Harry his starting point in DH. The effects were brilliant, they outperformed the duel between Dumbledore and Voldemort from OotP. They strayed from the book on the relationship level. Harry was supposed to have detention with snape, come back to the common room to find that Ginny had won the quidditch game, then they get together. and the book didn't hint so much at Ron and Hermione. What disappointed me most was that they didn't have the battle between Order of Phoenix with Dumbledore's Army Vs. Death Eaters. That would have been cool to see.

Having read all of the Harry Potter books numerous times, I was seriously disappointed in this movie. It was lacking all the action that the book had, it became more of a teenage romance drama than a Harry Potter film. The Half-Blood Prince moved quickly, stuck to the story. Harry and gang played their roles exceedingly well. I liked the idea that Draco was portrayed with heart, that they showed his struggles with the task he was given.

J.K. Rowling writes amazing books with so much important information, that you can never expect a director to be able to fit in all of it. First of all, the movie is only "based" on the book but should not be expected to have every single event in the movie. I thought the movie was wonderfully taken, and it is probably one of the best hp movies so far. I would recommend it to be watched by anyone, hp reader or not, and they will enjoy it for its humor and action.

The movie was great, and had some especially funny parts. I wouldve loved for them to include Fleur and Bill and the battle at the end but even without it, it was worth going to the midnight release. I loved the special effects with the Death Eaters as they destroy the city.

I liked it, a lot. I thought that it was very true to the book. Sure, they cut some things, but they didnt cut out much of the important stuff. I loved that it made me laugh and made me feel for the characters. I was only disappointed in the ending. They could have made the cave scene much longer and much more dramatic. I should have felt like crying when Harry is force feeding Dumbledore the drink, but it just wasnt intense enough. Also, why did they cut out the fight scene? Why have all the Death Eaters come to Hogwarts when there is no fight? And why didnt Harry and Snape yell at each other while they were dueling? They should have been furious with each other and I just didnt get that in the film.

The Harry Potter films get better as each one comes out, but this one tops them all. The three main actors have now reached a point where they know their characters inside and out, which allows the screenwriters more freedom.There isn't as much action in this one, although some action sequences which weren't in the book were added - however this didn't hurt the film. I was worried that the romance in the book would eclipse all the other elements of the plot, but the hilarious moments with Ron and Lavender did not overshadow the somber moments with Harry and Dumbledore. Overall, a really well put-together movie - I can't wait to see it again!

I have to say at first, I am a HUGE potter fan. I love the books dearly. When I go to see the film, I am wary at first and usually have to see it a 2nd time to really enjoy it. I know that this movie missed out on parts from the book, but I've began to accept that from any movie deriving from a book. However, they made the most of it, and got many of the key points. For this movie, I really enjoyed it. It was funny, seemed to appeal to all ages, and was a more lighthearted movie than the previous ones. My heart broke with Hermiones, I feared for Draco, and I laughed at Ron's inability to see things clearly.

I was suprised that this movie even has this title seeing as it has almost nothing to do with the sixth installment of the Harry Potter series. Although the Movie was good I have to say that this one deviated from the book the most. Almost every sceen was made up or changed!! I understand when things need to be cut out for the sake of time but to flat out change circumstances, events etc drives me crazy...it was so distracting to me that I had a hard time enjoying the Movie...they even altered the HUGE ending!!! there was a lot left out that i felt was important to the back story. rowling is such a talented writer, every detail important in each book that it would be impossible to put it into a movie format. if you haven't read the books then this movie would be excellent but if you have you may feel a little let down. go watch it and enjoy it for what it is and not what it isn't! overall very enjoyable. can't wait for the last 2!

The movie was done well and the acting has greatly improved. However, it was disappointing to see so many sub-plots and characters missing. The cinematography was well done and the scenery beautiful. It will be interesting to see how they wrap up the entire Harry Potter series with the "Deathly Hallows". I would like to see it again soon so I can gather more subtleties from the movie than I originally caught like with so many other movies. Definitely worth seeing regardless of book to screen adaptations!

Disappointing! Left too much of the story out from the book. If you have not read the book you will enjoy it more because you will not know the story that was eliminated. If you read the book you will wonder why they left some very important things out. Nice special effects tho.

I really enjoyed Harry Potter and the half blood Prince! In its length it kept me interested the entire time with great graphics and an intense, mysterious plot. Having read the book, I was happy with the movie as well. Of course it didn't capture everything, but how could it. I would reccomend this movie to both Potter fans and non-Potter fans alike! It's a must-see for this summer
