The movie was okay. It was not the best movie out there but it wasn't the worst of the Harry Potter series. The movie left out many important parts that were in the book and replaced some of them with made up parts like when the Wesleys house blew up, which never happened in the book. Also left out the big fight scene at the end which kind of ruined the movie I feel.

As all book made movies are, it was not as good as the book. There were things missing, like Harry straightening Dumbledore's glasses. But it compensated! Beautiful special effects, excellent acting (esspecially for Snape, Ron, Malfoy and Slughorn). The humour was good, plenty of appropriate comic relief. When it was dark, it was VERY dark; though they captured the depressing epic parts beautifully, it should have been more ominous overall. I'm going to go see it again!

Some good chuckles & great cinematography but disappointing at best. So little action, so much fluff. I understand ya can't fit it all it, but it felt like 135 minute trailor for Deathly Hallows.

Each time I see a Harry Potter film, I'm struck by how much the young actors and special effects have improved since the beginning. Daniel Radcliffe has become funny, charming, handsome, and believable. Emma Watson and Rupert Grint have both become enjoyable to watch.
The tone of this film was the darkest yet, consistent with the books, and the writers and editors did well to streamline the plot for the screen. The cinematography was artful and the world more believable than ever. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

To be honest, I had very high expectations of this movie, and the movie beyond surpassed my highest expectations. I have been waiting to see this movie since I saw the last one. Boy was I disappointed.
As I sat there watching this movie I remember thinking to myself when is something going to happen. Can they explain more? Where's the good vs evil?
The visual effects were great and quite detailed, but the story was boring and probably been covered in one of those 30 min Disney episodes. There was no excitement after the movie was over. People will claim the ending was just sad but there was no applause no excitement, just dead silence.
Worst of the 6 movies.

As many would agree, this film is probably the best Harry Potter movie to date. Though the book consisted of mostly build up plot points towards the final book, the movie was able to incorporate these build up plot points and still maintain its own compelling story. The veteran actors in the form of Michael Gambon and Jim Broadbent were fantastic and Gambon's Dumbledore seemed to have more depth in this film. The young actors also performed well, and one can see the growth in acting ability over the years. It would probably be best if one has watched the previous films or read the books, as there is a lot of carry over from the previous material. All in all, definitely a film worth seeing!

The movie was excellent - very human or should I say muggle in the approach - it reminds the viewer that the very thing that made the series popular, an average boy that was capable of extraordinary things. This movie takes us back to the average boy who has been thru so much but is still human as well as all the other characters. I read the book a few years ago, so I was a little sketchy on the details which probably actually helped me enjoy the movie a little more. I thought it was well done and had plenty of funny scenes! Movie makers don't have a choice but to edit some of the book out, the movie as is turned out to be 2 hr 30 min, so I go in knowing that and having an open mind. I really liked it and think it did the Harry Potter books justice. GO SEE IT--if you love HP you love this one.

This installment of the HP series was a bit lighter and more fun than the previous film. There's quidditch as well as quite a substantial bit of teenaged romance. I felt the backbone of the plot was a bit rushed, and I was disappointed that the big battle at the end with the DA was cut out. However, I still really enjoyed the film - I laughed out loud and sniffled a bit too.

It was a bit surprising a few facts they left out of the movie but I realize the movie can't be 4 hours long! It was great - I took my nephew and this director was wonderful about all of the funny parts! We both enjoyed his focus and the direction he took us. I now know why it is rated PG. It was boring. Very few special effects and even fewer battle scenes. I was frustrated that the Death Eaters were allowed to leave Hogwarts without a fight.
More time could have been spent searching for the identity of the Half-Blood Prince and less time showing Ron and Lavender making out.
Most of the actors were very single dimensional. Very little energy or excitement. No fiery outbursts that we expect from Hermione; only tears for Ron. Even the teachers were dull. After 5 movies, I expect to see better acting from these actors.
Overall, I thought the movie was a dud and a waste of my money.

Very well made. As a diehard Potter fan, I am very critical of the films. This is the first I absolutely loved the first time I saw it. Michael Gambon is INCREDIBLE and redeems himself as Dumbledore. Alan Rickman is fabulous. He portrays Snape in a way no one else would be able to. Everyone has really grown as actors. The film was wonderful. GREAT JOB David Yates and Steve Kloves (also redeemed himself with this screenplay.)

I think this is the best Harry Potter yet, mainly because I think the actors finally really melded with their characters. Radcliffe had always been a bit overdramatic with his emotions, but he has a new subtlety that really enhances the character. Loved when he took the felix potion it was hilarious. Although the movies can never match up to the books, I think this a must see for an Harry Potter fan!

Besides the fact that the movie wasn't lined up right when it started playing it wasn't a bad film. It was entertaining but felt lacking in detail. It jumped around alot in what came off as a hurried way of making everything fit in. It's a shame they had to cut back on the magic that so enthralled us all in the earlier movies. However I must say the way the teens interacted made it really believable. Unfortunately, it has started to feel more like a reality show than a fantasy.

Even though the movie didnt really follow the book it was really good. I noticed a few characters missing... Which is silly cause you needed two of those people for a few of the scenes.. actually its 3 one of them is just a ghost. I wish they wouldnt have changed the train scene between Malfoy and Potter. I love tonks. Either way this movie is by far the best one out of all of them, like any other movie it could have been better. Im excited for the last movie(s).

the movie was terrific in regards to special effects, action, etc. however, if you are one who wishes it would follow the book, it's bit of a let down... they cut a huge fight scene and some other details were changed as well. However, seeing as how they only have 2 1/2 hours to fit that looooong book in, it was a REALLY good interpretation. and for those that don't read, I think this was easier to follow without reading the book in comparison to movie five. It was great!
