I t really seems like this one has a lot of sensless violence in it and the loss of so many characters seems predictable but gory. To me there was little of the drama and suspense of the previous films, nor the creative turns and suspense. The film is dark, and in the end, I was simply bored and hoping it would end. I've never watched my watch in a Potter film before.

I will cut to the point, I will not muck around for two hours trolling my audience along as this movie does. This is the weakest of the Potter movies. Not for lack of subject matter, the turns of this episode could have been very enjoyable. The previous installations use a stew of fun and dramatic changes with a tasty entrée of fantastic wizardry to overcoming the evils of the world. The latest movie however, begrudgingly drags you through clumsy teenage romances to an ineffective conclusion. Be warned you will wonder, as I did, why you just paid your good money to be involved in a bad teen love drama that had been deceptively dressed as the downturn-second act episode of a new generations preferred serial fantasy chronicle.

I was disappointed that the movie strayed so much from the book. The movie jumped around too much and many important details were left out. Overall, I thought the movie was exciting, but having read the book, the movie doesn't compare.

I was very disappointed in this movie. There was too many parts that were not shown. The movie jumped around and was disjointed. I would have happily sat through another 2 hours to have the movie be true to the book. This was my least favorite of all the movies so far.

Excellent Movie, it had light fun moments, dark hard moments, excitement and young love. We enjoyed it allot. It would have been nice to have the funeral for Dumbledor but other than that, well done.

I saw this movie with people who either could quote the books chapter and verse, or had never read them. All were a bit disappointed, but the devout Potter fans particularly so. The deviation from the book ending was particularly disappointing because the final fight scenes in Hogwarts were eliminated. The story line jumped around so much, the non Potters had difficulty following it. I disliked the washed out cinematography. The approach to adolescent infatuations was fun but the rest of the movie was pretty bland.

Disclaimer, I have read the series three times!
I think pertinent scenes were left out, Harry's acting was awful, too much "puppy love". Snape and Draco were awesome, visuals were excellent but the movie did not enhance the story line. Three pertinent scenes, memory of Voldemort's mother and relationship to his father, Dumbledore's vist to the Dursley's and Dumbledore's funeral! Hope they do better next time!

The Half Blood Prince was a good movie but it left out some important parts from the book. There was also a scene in the movie that was not in the book at all and I feel that this scene could have been left out so that actual important scenes from the book could be put in. All in all it was a good movie with great special effects. I do recommend that anyone who watches the movies but has not read the books should definitely go out and read the books! There is so much more to the story that people who do not read the book do not know or fully understand!

While the movie touched on most of the important parts of The Half Blood Prince, I feel as though they left out and/or changed other parts that were just as important, not only for the future storyline, but for the character development as well.
Because it is Harry and I love all of the characters, I enjoyed the movie for the entertainment value, but I was sadly disappointed by what was cut, without even a reference to any of it. It seems as though we are only getting part of the dynamics that make these characters so endearing to all Potter Fans.

In order to be true to this book, the movie just HAD to be more than 2 hours and 33 mins. It's one of the longest books written in the series, and I can't understand what compelled Warner Brothers et. al. to make it so short. SURELY all of us Potter fans have spent enough on tickets and Potter-alia to fund a 4-hour PROPER representation of the book. The movies started to really miss their mark with Order of the Phoenix, and again leaves out so much in HBP that you absolutely should re-read the book. I am praying they do a MUCH better 2-part, series-ending movies. They owe it not only to J.K. Rowling, but to all the fans and the cast of the movies as well.

I just finished reading "Half Blood Prince," and was very disappointed in everything that was left out of the movie. Two of my kids, who did not read the book, didn't like it either as they said it was hard to follow and focused too much on the frivolous teenage love stories. That being said, I'll probably buy the DVD when it comes out! Everyone should read these books, though, they're FANTASTIC!!

After seeing the movie all my wife and I could do is talk about all the important pieces that were left out. The biggest being Dombledor's darkened hand, and the Tom Riddle home life memories.
The movie is well done and it's nice to see the cast all back for each of these movies. Knowing that the last book will be done in 2 films, I can't help but think they should have done that for this film as well.
It's time for me to re-read the books!

Okay, I am a Potter fan so as long as it kept the storyline true to the book I would find it worth watching. Let's be honest these books have gotten increasingly more detailed and lengthy as the characters have evolved; therefore I was impressed with how well the story was told. If you follow the books you'll find that the story line gets darker and darker. This segment does not have very many funny moments but does get the point across regarding where the the next movies are going. Even though the movie time is 2 1/2 hours it does go pretty fast. Too bad so much of the book was written out but no movie is as good as the book. Now everyone knows what Harry has to do to to follow what he needs to do to prove he is the chosen one and to kill the 'dark lord'.

I've heard pro's and con's of the movie before I went to see the movie. I like to rely on my own feelings of a movie as everyone has a their own differences of opinion. Though the movie could not conatin as much as the book, I did enjoy it as much if not more than the ones before. Since I only read the last 2 books, I have no comparisons to the other movies which I saw also. I must say I enjoyed all of them. I would have liked a little more at the end regarding the funeral which was very enjoyable and heartbreaking in the book.

I am a Potter fan, and have really enjoyed watching these guys grow up and see the books evolve on the screen.Every movie before got better with each film. This one fell just a bit short. I wish it would of stuck more to the book. I am sure that the Potter fans would not be opposed to another a bit more time in the theater to make sure that the story is told. Filmed beatifully and enjoyed(as usual) the characters development. With that said, I would recommend this movie.

So you can't condense an 800-900 page to 2 hours, but director David Yates did a good job in his attempt. A much darker, more mature movie but without losing its sense of humor and captivating magic, the Half Blood Prince, has gone a long way since its cutesy and bouncy beginnings. The story is a bit rushed, and a newcomer to the Harry Potter series would have trouble following the sequences. To say the least, it's still a good movie.

We find out who the Half Blood Prince is, but are given no background, nothing to tell us why he is significant to the overall story. Harry is made to look passive or cowardly when Dumbledore is attacked by Bellatrix & her hoods. Draco failed in his mission was he punished for his failure? I didn't need all the footage of hormonal teen stuff--added nothing to the story-it was a distaction. I wanted more of the story of Tom Riddle, but we were given only snippets. We needed more on the Horcruxes, but didn't get that either. I think I detected an error since Dumbledore talked about 7 of them, but at the end Harry and Hermione talked about finding "it." This movie should be re-done with a different director & better screenplay writing.
